Aviation Continuation Pay (ACP - The Bonus)

Nope, but they found a way for you to not have to wait until Jun or Jul for a PSDM that should come out 1 Oct each year. Yet somehow it always takes 6 months or more for the message to be released. We'll see how it works in implementation. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App! -
Classic Thread - Security Forces (SFS) Tales
Herk Driver replied to Ferg's topic in General Discussion
Yes I was an SP at one point in my career. On another note, I have also been a Sq/CC so guilty on both charges. Some things just don't go away unfortunately, but google will also give you those form numbers if you look hard enough. I always thought it was funny when you ask someone where some base agency is located and they tell you building XXX. I have never been able to remember a building number or use them to locate an organization...to each his own I suppose. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App! -
Classic Thread - Security Forces (SFS) Tales

Some bases have this authority; not all. 1805's versus 1408's if I remember correctly. An 1805 gets you a date with the magistrate judge and a 1408 gets you a date with your CC. This is nothing new and has been going on for years. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App! -
Information on PCS/moves/moving (DITY, TMO, DLA, storage)
Herk Driver replied to SUX's topic in General Discussion
Is this in reference to the TLE question or something else? The TDY travel rules and the PCS rules are slightly different. Edited. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App! -

Read the JFTR. I'll let Finance Guy chime in, but unless something has changed...The JFTR has the force of law and AFIs do not. The bottom line is that finance pays your voucher not the dude at billeting. This is the age old functional trying to usurp JFTR authority that doesn't belong to him. FWIW, I can vouch for the authenticity. I did not go through the blog word for word but looks like what I read before. Have seen the original email in writing distributed from A1 to lower levels. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!

When did this supposedly happen? I would find it hard to believe that a convening authority would sign off on a CM unless there is more to this story...like a history of GTC misuse/abuse. I am not saying that it is not correct but will need more than word of mouth to believe it. On a different topic, not surprised they went to court for a cop stealing ammo...the amount of money is not really the point. Edited after looking through the Dyess website for corroborating information...none found yet. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!

I've been gone from Dyess for more than a year now but typically there was only one flyer on a jury...of the four or five trials I personally witnessed there were only 4 total flyers on the juries. Prosecutors didn't want flyers on the juries during my time there. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!

Jury members must be higher ranking (at least by date of rank). This is an E issue as they can ask for all O's, IIRC. And M2 called it...the line of thinking is that NCOs will be tougher on their own than any officers will. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!

I would agree with no E jurors as a general rule. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!

From what I have seen and I have watched a few of these, a jury is usually the way to go. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!

What was the end result? I ask because if that is the case and the CC "offered" an Art 15, one should not be afraid to turn down the 15 and go to CM. Obviously, each case is different and one has to weigh their odds and potential punishment, but the buckshot blood test is fairly substantial exculpatory evidence and would probably sway most juries. If this was other than NJP, well then that is a different story. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!

Anyone know a good place to take the ATP written in the Montgomery AL area? Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!

I don't disagree with you necessarily. I do not believe that you should have to make an example out of anyone. Holding individuals accountable tends to send the right message to others in the unit. However there are times when it doesn't sink in. No one likes the "fashion show" mentality of dressing up in blues. The cynical among us take is as punishing the masses. I am not sure what the point is other than to have folks in blues for a CC call. I am still lamenting the day when we get back to wearing blues during the work week and wear ABUs and/ or flight suits only once a week or when on the schedule to fly. I am sure you can remember back to that time in the AF. Not talking about this "alleged DUI" since he has not faced a judge yet, but let's not forget that DWI and DUI are crimes. We spend way too much time on these types of issues. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!

M2, I couldn't agree more. However, if the CC believes that he has an underlying "culture" problem then how does he go about fixing it without getting everyone involved? I am not saying that having everyone in blues gets at the heart of the matter and have always hated this approach. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!

To tell you the truth without looking I don't know but it is probably still in use. I think I mis spoke with the duty position versus flight posit part anyway. Edit: after a quick glance at a 781, I think duty posit is correct after all. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!

You log half primary and half secondary in the scenario you describe. Your duty position is never CP. You log the duty position listed on the orders. FP, MP, IP or EP. If I am missing the point of your question, then my apologies. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!

Army veteran says his benefits are "too generous"

I wonder if LTC (Ret) Tom Slear has considered donating his retirement to the Treasury to help pay down the debt? Somehow I doubt it. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App! -
Total Federal Commissioned Service Date?
Herk Driver replied to Spaceballs's topic in Pilot Selection Process
TFCSD waivers really depend on the year you are applying. Two years ago one of my guys got this waiver and there were several others. Sorry to hear that Howard retired. Great guy. Always answered the phone and any questions that you had. That office will never be the same. I still remember the day he called me to tell me that I had gotten picked up for UPT...that was a few years ago. Too bad that level of experience and knowledge are gone now. Total Federal Commissioned Service Date?
Herk Driver replied to Spaceballs's topic in Pilot Selection Process
My info may be a few years old but TFCSD is a waiverable item. IIRC if you applied and met a board then applying again and needing a waiver results in you needing an exception to policy. Again, it's been a few years since I read through the AFI or been in a position where I needed to know this but that is what I remember. Mr. Peterson at AFPC is the guy that knows all the ins and outs of the AFI. It may be worth a call to him to ask, but to answer your question, yes that is waiverable.
