  1. I've never had a problem putting money in or taking money out.

From a gov't computer? If so, then yes. Nothing can be plugged into a gov't computer where I am w/o going through substantial @ss-pain. YMMV.
  3. Yes and the ones I knew were volunteers...
  4. Yes, but it can be waived.
  5. Don't know... No, they don't all necessarily go out at the same time, even when you are just talking ops to ops assignments. Even more true when talking ops assignments and staff assignments, etc. Just because you are on the VML does not mean that you will get an assignment.
  6. Noted.
  7. I know exactly what he was saying. As I said 121 is not high. I think you said pretty much the same thing, as does the link that you put here. Most docs will not prescribe meds until LDL is above 160 unless there are many other risk factors and the overall profile is taken into account as well.
  8. If you think 121 is high, then you don't know a much about cholesterol as you think. 130-159 is considered by most to be borderline high, 160-189 is high and greater than 190 is very high. Depending upon your total cholesterol and any other risk factors, this LDL is anything but high. I know you were asking about the other number, but your assumption on your LDL's is not accurate.
  9. Or leave and don't go back. F$ck 'em.
  10. Again, that's NOT the guidance that was issued by USF-I or the AEW.
  11. Like I said, YMMV. I last left in Feb '10. Tried to use the card in Dec 10 and it didn't work. Asked the finance guy at the Deid, he looked at it in the computer said it was expired and reset the date. Did you actually see the policy guidance?
  12. Uh, OK. That's not what the policy says, but if you say so.
  13. Keeping the card from expiring is not necessary regardless of a balance. There may be a new rule about exp dates, but when I hit the Died in Dec 10, I just went in and had them change the expiration date and it is still working right now. No sweet taliking required. YMMV.
  14. First, relax. Second, keep a record of everything including who you talk to and when. Third, stop calling DFAS. MAke finance do their J-O-B. Go ask to speak to a supervisor and sit and talk with them about this until a CMS case is opened. Fourth, if you can't get finance to do their job then speak with your supervisor, first shirt and/or commander. They will get some action. Keep records and emails so that when you ultimately file and if you owe you can write a letter an ask the IRS to forego any penalties and/or interest since this really wasn't your fault. Go ahead and file on time if you don't get a corrected W-2. If you get a W-2C afterwards, then file an amended return and write the letter. It is amazing what that will do.
  15. I would like to get them for my sweat-ties. The LM and FE are the ones that in 130 degree heat need to be able to remove the top and get their J-O-B started so we can go hack the mish.
  16. Here's a toast...
  17. Expect that across the board at all places where you might be an advisor. Some are happening faster than others, but by April, you can expect to see the transition from "enduring" to "expeditionary" already in full swing.
  18. Done that my entire career...hasn't hurt me yet, but there have been moments where I've wondered. Some people value a person that isn't a yes man.
  19. No, I was referring to the quote below. I should have been clearer. Lebanon and its current regime are close to this now.
  20. As far as I know, the armed Caravan is a purely Iraqi thing. BTW, if you have been watching the news, the PM has said all Americans will be out of Iraq at the end of the year so ITAM's mission will end this year. The growth industry in the Advising mission is in OEF.
  21. That's close to what is / could happen in Lebanon.
  22. Evacuating 90K people is a tall order and takes time (along with some indication that the shit is hitting the fan). I think we were caught off guard and are "hoping" for the best right now.
