  1. Got it, but word right now (and has been for some time) is that the last four DYS tails are not coming off the assembly line. They will be transfer tails that are already in the fleet. I have heard the same about stubbies going to the schoolhouse. The last four DYS tails have not been identified yet as far as I know, so they could be anything at this point.
  2. DYS is currently scheduled for at least 24/28 stretch models. The last 4 is a good question. Word on the street at one point was the last 4 would take a while to arrive and they would be transferred from somewhere else; not off the LM assembly line.
  3. Is there such a thing as a "medically necessary" vasectomy?
  4. Your rumor is just that;a rumor. You do not have to have any number of kids. The docs need to interview you so that you understand what you are getting into.
  5. Your understanding would be correct. I was recently on a joint staff and never really had this issue. I will tell you though that a female Army officer that I worked with got pissed about the way in which people greeted her. It had to be Good morning/afternoon/evening, Ma'am and nothing else or she would pull people aside and give them an ear full.
  6. Army National Guard. .69 seconds of your time on any search engine would probably yield the same results.
  7. Yep, aware of those issues. Current slips are for much shorter term problems.

  9. I should have said early/mid '90's and yes I'm sure about that. Senior raters are "required" to give you a copy of your PRF. They don't just show up in your record.
  10. Dyess will deploy J's before a year from now. There is a plan to draw down H's and send more J's. The details are still being worked and subject to change, but will definitely be out the door before a year from now. Right now, yes there are some folks going out with other units (41st) to get experience. The airplane arrival schedule has slipped to the right in the short term. It should get back on track shortly. Edit: spelling and 2nd J-model arrived this past week (1-5 Nov 10)
  11. I met a promotion board to O-3 but did not get a PRF. That was in the early '90's. AFPC did all the leg work. First PRF was for O-4. Not really going to get all worked up over a "requirement" that hasn't been identified yet.
  12. Anyone have current info on living conditions, chow hall, gym, etc for this location?
  13. Heard about the reflective belt thing. That's what drove my question. Anyone got the details on the policy? There has to be at least one EAS guy roaming this board.
  14. What's the latest at Salem? I'm hearing that the qweep has started to increase. Getting there soon. Would like to know what to expect.
  15. Why is this news? PT tests for those deployed for a year or longer. That is no different than anywhere else in the USAF. All other PT tests are optional. On a positive note, you have to have a valid test on-file prior to deployment and if it lapses while in theater, no big deal. This has been out in an un-official format for a little while. This is not news.
  16. Really? Good to hear they finally got that theater going. As stated the free wireless is pretty good. You can get your Skype on everyday.
  17. afdriver.com was the centerpoint of a recent, huge investigation of SOS cheating. Not sure why they shut down, but I do know that multiple people were investigated by OSI for allegedly cheating. That it was related to some kid writing in his SOS course critque that he thought it was silly that people actually try to do SOS legitimately when there was a website that had a lot of the questions and answers to the tests. This is the reason for the revamped tests a while back. I think the owner of the site may still be in the USAF, so he was probably "pressured" to shut down the site.
  18. no one showing up will be a good start. Don't buy beer or have food. Go get your drop, leave as soon as possible...either have your class or have another class throw a party complete with booze at an off-base location. Vote with your feet and your money. Edit: grammer
  19. Sad day. Here's a toast...
  20. DAV codes can be waived with nothing more than a signature from the Sq/CC.
  21. For mission info, try to find someone to talk with. Last time I was deployed (Christmas last year), I talked with the EC guys and they were deploying more than the slick guys on average. Interesting mission...old @ss airplanes.
  22. So what is the word about this being a temporary change?
  23. What is this orderly room that you speak of?
  24. No, they simply tell you that dogs aren't allowed in the dorms and you are required to live there. Girlfriends may be considerably more expensive, but in my experience, they can let themselves into and out of the bathroom to relieve themselves, unlike a dog.
  25. Lived there for four years, never registered there, never had a problem.
