That's about the only valid point that anyone has made so far. BoA/Citi don't report you as late to credit agencies until 120 days for the GTC program, IIRC.
-
I completely agree and that is probably worth discussing. My other question, not directed at you necessarily, does this effect DTS vouchers? I don't think that DTS actions flow through AFFMS. Do they? Finance guy??
-
The post was in relation to what is different just because AFFMS can't get their shit together. I'm not going to defend the GOVCC, but at least post items that make a difference when we're talking about specifics to AFFMS being tango-uniform. #1 is a red-herring as that is possible with either card. Personally, I pay off all my credit cards each month so #2, 3, and 4 don't matter to me either. Everything doesn't go through AFFMS. DTS is still functioning which is the way most people file vouchers these days anyway. Does this system being down effect DTS payments? I don't think it does, but I've been wrong before. BL: With AFFMS being so out of whack why does using a personal CC versus GOVCC make a difference except that some people can string out payments versus paying it off each month? (except to give people that want to bitch a reason to bitch)
-
Right, because you couldn't pay off the gov't credit card with your own money like you can your personal card. Don't get me wrong, this sucks. I'm in the middle ofa PCS, have TLA payments, travel payments, TDY payments and a multitude of other money stuck in the system somewhere, but how does using your personal card differ from using your GOVCC in this instance? Oh, wait, big brother isn't breathing down my neck to pay my personal card. BFD. On another note, this was the piece of an email that I don't think they meant to share with the masses: "I would echo Chief xxxxx's message to the Superintendants to try and keep the message to your leadership and customers positive, and project an optimistic attitude..." Right, heaven forbid we call a spade a spade and let people deal with it. Instead, let's put a bright and shiny spin on things and bury our heads in the sand since it isn't our money anyway. In the end it's the SM that has to suck it up and press on.

With his history of gaffes, does this surprise anyone?

On the Southside of town you are more likely to get mugged. There's plenty of places to run on base.

They do, and I've ordered from them before from the website, but it's mostly in Korean now. I can't seem to find a translator that can translate enough of it into English. I did email them and am waiting for them to email back. I just figured if someone was there they could walk over and then mail it to me.

I'm in the same boat. Anyone at Osan willing to help out with getting some items from Royal Bag and dropping them in the mail?
-
I'm no expert, but I'd ride that one out and see what happens. Save a few bucks in the process. If it's a problem, it won't be tough to fix. The military is not real big on fixing cosmetic shit, so they shouldn't be real big on DQ'ing you for it either.

Not necessarily true.
-
Yes, the AF governing AFI is 36-2006. Para 3 states that civil officials authorized by law to administer oaths, commissioned officers and warrants that are on AD as an adjutant, asst., acting or personnel adjutant of a command. Notaries in many, if not all, states are authorized to administer oaths. The AFI is dated 2002, but I know officers sworn in by their enlisted dad from much earlier than 2002, who also happened to be a notary.
-
Wow, people are still talking about this?
-
And that nugget would be incorrect. While it may be true that this was the first time that those offices could administer the oath, military officers, judges and notaries can all administer this oath and could do so well before 2007.

Classic Thread - Security Forces (SFS) Tales

When stuff like this happens, ask to speak to the supervisor. Normally the supervisor will drive to where you are, but none of this will stop until their supervisor gets tired of having to come out and take care of shit like this. And as said before, there is no 3-second rule. SF doesn't get to just MSU. Make them show you in the AFIs, where you have violated the law. -
Information on PCS/moves/moving (DITY, TMO, DLA, storage)
Herk Driver replied to SUX's topic in General Discussion
So, you arrived at your new PDS a week ago? Have you filed your PCS voucher yet? You should be claiming your DLA on that form, if I'm not mistaken. If you forgot to mark the block for DLA, go down to finance and tell them and ask to file for your DLA. You don't have to ask for DLA ahead of time or anything; you can get it advanced, but don't have to. This is easy. -
1) As mentioned in another post, rated aircrew badges are above all others except the Buzz Lightyear badge when performing or assigned Buzzlightyear duties, then it is worn first. 2) Note in 11-402, para 7.4.7, parachutist badge isnot an aviation badge, but it doesn't matter for purposes of this discussion. 3) 11-402 Table 7.2, p. 109, Note 6; All awarded parachutists badges are permanent unless revoked. USAF recognizes jump badges of sister services (elsewhere in 11-402) FYI, to be revoked, there are specific requirements listed in 11-402 that must be met and action must be taken to take it away. It doesn't just happen. 4) I take from the Note above that since it is a permanent badge that it can be worn. Especially since it can't be taken away except for specific instances. In addition, 11-402 says that one the training is complete, the HARM will publish the AO; once published, the AO is authority to wear the badge. The AO doesn't get rescinded unless your authorization to wear the badge is removed as discussed above.

Information on PCS/moves/moving (DITY, TMO, DLA, storage)
Herk Driver replied to SUX's topic in General Discussion
I did exactly this when I moved to Europe, but my "designated location" was close to the authorized port so I didn't have a problem. But, I'll throw in my question to you. I haven't asked TMO, because I forgot about it, but do I have to put in the papers overseas to move that stuff to my next base or can I do that in the states? -
OK, understand. A friend of mine recently wrote something that made me think twice. For evil to flourish all it takes is good men to be silent. Don't be silent. I'm not saying that everything here is evil, but there is certainly some ass-clownery going on. Bitching and moaning won't stop it, but my goal is the same as yours. It'sto get through to some that will be the leaders soon so that they won't follow the same path. The problem as I see it is that Wing/CC's, etc have more important things to worry about so when E-9 whoever shoves a policy letter about uniform wear in front of him, he probably just signs it. It's such low-hanging fruit that they probably could care less.
-
Exactly what I was thinking. 9K in front of you and only a hundred feet (or way less) to the left or right. You can end up in the infield pretty fast. A lot of -130 T & G's, it doesn't take very long if any amount of time to already be beyond Go speed. You just have to get the power pushed back in. As someone else already said, this should have been talked about in the pre-brief. Most -130 guys that I know normally brief not to use the term reject for a T & G anyway, but if you notice something out of the ordinary to bring it to the AC's attention and he will make the call whether you stop or go airborne (obviously based on speed, throttle position, runway remaining, etc).
-
Bet I know who that was.
-
As someone already pointed out, google the DHL - Russia charter plane crash over Ueberlingen, Germany in 2002. It will set your mind pretty straight over whether to follow the instructions of ATC or TCAS. Had these guys both followed the TCAS RA, 71 people would still be alive today. IIRC, this prompted an FCIF followed by the "new" guidance already quoted on this board that makes it mandatory to follow RAs. Pirate AF, unless I'm reading what you wrote incorrectly, some C-130E's have TCAS and some more C-130H's have TCAS.
-
Tone? It's straight up undermining the CC's authority, IMHO.
-
That seems to be the biggest factor. Most of the guys here are being taken out of the staff early to return to fly. I'm sure there are some O-4's choosing to not go to staff and others being slow-rolled before being released to staff. Possible cause of the glut of O-4's.

I prefer The War On Terror (T-WOT).

Report: Cuba, Venezuela could host Russian bombers

I'd like to see how many sorties they can generate.
