The J rolls right to takeoff from the ERO checklist vs utilizing the before takeoffs again. To your point, I have noticed the same thing happening in the H with the actual accomplishment vs "previously checked". That report is gut wrenching.

7 BW/CC at Dyess from what I understand. I was told by our leadership that policy at Dyess was revoked pending legal review... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Possibly. I am deployed with several Dyess guys who have been here less than 2 months and they know nothing about any revocation. It could be a recent development.

Then don't be.

And lots of those still won't be allowed to regardless of what happens. Stop with the sky is falling argument. This is not an either / or argument and there are reasonable solutions to this problem. Unfortunately this Airman was breaking the law when he carried this weapon on base in the first place, unless Lackland has recently implemented a new policy we haven't heard about. Explain how not having a concealed carry policy on base did or would have prevented this disaster.
-
Prelim info says it was an airman at the 347 Training Sq who killed his Sq/CC and then himself.

Hearing there is an active shooter at Lackland as of this hour. Nothing to confirm other than local reporting...multiple victims reported and Bexar Co Sheriff's office is helping clear buildings reportedly. ETA: https://www.ksat.com/news/bcso-responding-to-shooting-at-lackland-air-force-base

I have drafted several of my own and written many others and the SR changed all of them. I doubt a self destructive PRF would be signed unless the SR truly thought it accurately reflected your performance. YMMV.

Correct but can be time based and many times they are.

Is the 327th still flying H's, or are they still hoping and praying for the J? From what I understand, and I am not at LR, the H3s are gone, the manpower in the 5-0 is mostly gone. That is to say that that there are a handful of people left...the reserves are going to form a classic association with the 19th and are starting or have already started putting people through JMATS. Anyone with better info feel free to correct any of that.

The numbers are based on pool size. The allocation rate is the same and there is a minimum number of eligibles required to get at least one DP.

KIO. Get back to the topic at hand and take your playground argument somewhere else. -
Aviation Continuation Pay (ACP - The Bonus)

No. As with all things though it depends. The bonus in the 90's was much less generous and was only a 5 year deal. Somewhere along in the early 2000's it went to 25k and there were a few years that had an option to go to 20 and 25 YAS, IIRC. That was only for a few years. You have seen the last couple of years where they have targeted certain groups with options beyond the 5 year bonus. I can't give you the specific years that each of these was offered and I'm sure I missed a few but it all depends. BL is that the bonus has stayed relatively flat for many years. It has only "doubled" for a corresponding double number of additional years of service. 35k is an attempt to at least reset for inflation. This is too little and too late. -
Risking putting a check ride failure on every airline app should be enough...but give it a go. Let us know how it turns out. You may do great. I spent less than $2K and it was money well spent. I could have and would have spent more. YMMV.

Carbon dissipates energy more quickly too, so faster cooling times. UTAS (formerly Goodrich) claims 30% increase in energy absorption for the C-130 brakes, which puts them in the 30+ million ft-lb range. Unfortunately the wheel assembly does not dissipate the energy any faster so there are still issues in the Herk. Couple that with limited feedback that you now get in the -130 and you can have a recipe for problems. For those with access, there is an AFSAS report (within the last year) that speaks to some of this.

Aviation Continuation Pay (ACP - The Bonus)

Isn't there a reason why the senior rater is not supposed to know who are the takers and the non-takers? This statement brings me back to the old-heads who talked about being kicked to the side for not taking the bonus in the 90s because they "showed their cards." Where did you hear that? The takers and non takers are identified within AMS. The feet on the ramp policy was an AF policy...not individual senior raters taking any action. -
It means that if someone that is primary doesn't go for some reason (medical, decides they don't want it, etc) then you will go. But, you already knew that. This was a routine thing back in the 90's. You will get a call if they have a slot to fill. Other than that, they won't have any news for you.

I meant that I would like to post it as a new topic but I suppose I can post it as a reply to someone else's topic. Thanks. Sorry, couldn't resist. Are you posting from the app or the website?

Well you certainly figured out how to post a statement. Next time follow the same steps, phrase it in the form of a question and put the appropriate punctuation at the end. Problem solved. Does that help? (See that's a question)

DITY is treated like any other income. DFAS takes out taxes, you claim the income on your tax return and claim the taxes paid just like any other W-2.
-
TDY is not taxable. There is probably an exception to that rule but you do not receive a TDY travel W2. It is a reimbursement as stated and not income. DITY move pay is taxable.

Only if you've been in for less than 12 years 1 Jan 2018, everyone else is grandfathered. TERA expires 30 Sep 2018 with a min TIS of 15 years, so there should be nobody dual-eligible for both options. Didn't read it that way but ok. My comment was intended for a longer term focus and discussion.

Not that this doesn't need to be added to the other thread, but what does the new retirement system do to that prior calculation? Now that you can leave with some money "in your pocket" for retirement, does that change the decision for people or not?
