  1. If you mean did I swear to support and defend the constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic, then yes, I did swear to that. If China at some point attempts to take control of say Guam or Hawaii then I would not be on the side of let’s “just let it go.”
  2. God forbid the US will never face the kind of existential threat that Ukraine is facing. If we do face that, I hope those of you suggesting to “let it go” when it comes to national survival/sovereignty are no longer in the military.
  3. No. I’m saying one individual on a talk show doesn’t speak for the entire party. MTG doesn’t speak for the entire Republican Party, and this prosecutor doesn’t speak for all democrats. I would think this concept would be common sense. That sounds like an assumption. I prefer to go off what the politicians actual say, and then how they execute.
  4. I agree this a hypocritical take from what is apparently a left leaning prosecutor. It’d be interesting to see what kind of gun related cases she’s prosecuted in the past. However, one liberal prosecutor doesn’t speak for the entire DNC. If multiple dem reps and senators start making this argument publicly, then calling out the left for talking out of both sides of their mouth will be valid.
  5. Reports saying Ukraine sank a Russian submarine at port in Sevastopol. https://www.newsweek.com/russian-navy-worst-day-moskva-sinking-sevastopol-strike-1826666?amp=1
  6. At the risk of being callous I’d say that’s invalid. If you look at the starting roster on both sides of the ball TCU is either very young or has a number of transfers post 2021. The point being is I doubt many of the starting players new him well. I could be wrong, but based on the age/transfer timelines that’s what I think. I wouldn’t doubt that the coaches could have been troubled by grief in this terrible situation, and by default not on their A game. However, I think it’s more likely that TCU, along with a large majority of college fans, scoffed at the Deion media show, and overall got caught flat footed.
  7. @pawnman like this post all you want. You’re just as bad as Bashi, only you’re on the opposite side. I’m curious how many ROTC kids you screwed over for reluctance to take the shot before it was mandatory.
  8. My take is that the AF understands this completely. However, the AF has no interest in retaining pilots that aren’t full send on drinking the koolaid. The current system provides them an easy way to get rid of pilots that aren’t already going to do whatever it takes to make 20, while opening up space for young LTs that are more pliable and more likely to shut up and color. To me the handling of COVID removed any doubt I had that the AF disapproves of critical thought and prefers a “please sir, I’ll have some more” attitude. The pay incentives offered are more of a flick of table scraps to a malnourished pet in order to maintain a submissive attitude.
  9. Pardon the interruption of your regularly scheduled political circle jerk for the following news from Russia/Ukraine: https://news.yahoo.com/five-russian-jets-blown-drones-201253205.html
  10. Are you guys taking about @torqued?
  11. Mods while the Ukraine/covid circle jerk continues..
  12. Maybe we should create a separate thread for covid and Ukraine…🤔
  13. Out of curiosity, how many troll accounts can get made by current users/random idiots before they start getting deleted?
  14. Things seem to be going well at Tinker…
  15. I could care less what average Americans think. In fact, there are only a handful of Americans whose opinions I actually care about. If I wanted to be held on a pedestal by average Americans I would have become a firefighter. Just one man’s opinion.
  16. Yeah, let us all know how this great idea works out. OP, my bros in C-17s are TDY a lot more than I am in the CAF. We average on the road 3 months (3 TDYs a year) for my sq going back the last 6ish years. The C-17 guys I know were at least twice that, but none of them were Elmo guys. You should checkout the How do you feel about your airframe and mission? thread if you haven’t already. I know there are C-17 dudes that have posted there. It might not be Elmo specific but you’ll get the idea of how much they’re gone. What I know for sure is that PACAF is 5 gallons of shit being stuffed into a 1/2 gallon sock. Be prepared to fight every TDY to get paid IAW the reg. and before your GTC gets sent to collections.
  17. Agreed. Ppl with low emotional intelligence, little self-awareness, who don’t care about those they work with, or who embody a millennialist personality will definitely make life less pleasant for those around them. Believe it or not there are plenty of ppl in the world that work at jobs they don’t like, but because they were raised to take pride in their work and have a positive attitude you’d never know it.
  18. There’s a difference between anonymously saying you despised your time in your MWS because you didn’t like the style of flying and the life of a MAF pilot wasn’t for you, and making that known to anyone in your sq that will listen. Some of the most liked and high speed dudes I know did not like being in the CAF/AF for various reasons, but you’d never know it unless you were bros with them and specifically asked the question. Plenty of dudes crushing the flying hour program so they can get the mins for the airlines. The AF didn’t agree to train someone to be a pilot, but only if they did it because all they wanted to do was to serve. The AF gets something out of it and so does the individual. I see nothing wrong with someone deciding to join the AF to with one of their main goals being to build hours for the airlines. If they’re a good dude, do their job, and are a good officer then I’d say those are ppl the AF needs.
  19. None of that has anything to do with telling a guy that answered the call, was a presumably good pilot/officer, and then decided another 10yrs wasn’t for him that the AF is better off without him. The AF is better off without pilots that only want to do ten years? I don’t think the current “needs of the service” as far as pilots are concerned fits that viewpoint. If the AF desires pilots to want to stay in longer than 10yrs I think recent history will show that “don’t worry we’ll find someone to replace you” doesn’t work well as a retention/recruiting slogan. I know many young captains and even LTs that heard the same statements from the bobs and decided they were punching. Not for lack of job satisfaction etc, but because they had no faith in leadership. It shouldn’t be unfathomable to imagine why the trope the bobs are spitting results in dudes telling the younger generation to think twice before serving
  20. If Standby is doing a GenChoad impression, then it was spot on. If not, then youngins’ take note of how to spot the Bob perspective.
  21. I was more getting at what I see as a drastic overreach of power by federal, state, and local authorities in response to COVID. This includes the shameful way many managers within the DoD handled COVID. Lives were ruined and livelihoods destroyed and those responsible for pushing these policies will never be held accountable. Those on here and DoD wide who pushed for a scorched earth policy against anyone who disagreed are counted amongst those responsible.
  22. Keyboard warriors with near zero accountability on an internet forum don’t have the balls to admit they were wrong, and even continue to double down on being right…There’s no way political animals with money/power on the line are going to take any kind of responsibility.
  23. 30 second google search turned these up. Let’s be honest though, I could drop link after link and you would argue against it. Meanwhile it only takes a single right leaning person on BO to mention their worry of a civil war and the prominent liberals on here immediately exclaim “Look the GOP wants a civil war!!” I think uhhello is right, political ppl see what they want to see and ignore what they don’t want to see. Just like the hardcore conservatives on here can claim to be conservative Christians and then explain away every single drastic character flaw Trump has. I prefer political hypocrisy to be balanced if nothing else.
