How do you feel about your airframe and mission?
Boomer6 replied to innovator's topic in General Discussion
That's the idea. The strain on the pipeline is already bad enough with the -38 eng issues etc., so there is no benefit in sending a buff bound dude to go do some BFM hacks. Not that there is a lot of benefit for anyone doing "BFM" in a -38. -
Besides acting like assholes, are these officers violating a law? It sounds like they didn't have a warrant, but is there any back story here? Did they have probable cause for an "inspection"?

They took the back cover off of the UPT syllabus and the front cover off of the IFF syllabus and put them together. Expect your non-fighter dudes to do the standard UPT flying, and your fighter dudes to do the IFF sorties primarily. Most likely scenario is that the different IFF sortie types (BFM, BSA, etc.) will be a letter of X's thing. -
I don't think any current US administration would openly condone mass genocide, chemical weapons use, etc., so obviously there is always going to be a red line regardless of party. The fact that they changed their tune somewhat when large numbers of protesters, that are made up of their voting base, started getting media attention is not surprising..for either party.

Quite a long way to say you want us to buy the gripen. Dude we're not buying gripens.

A few months ago there was some doubling down from a number of those individuals (not sure if it was in this thread). Most of those ppl seemed to either push the narrative because their "team" was pushing it, or they hoped if they acted like a good dog and spouted obedience above all they wouldn't get passed over...again...

Miami is the OJ Simpson of criminal schools. Dirty on the field, dirty off the field. Been that way since at least Jimmy.

Gents, I'm all for healthy debate, but engaging with a known troll is pointless. If you'd prefer not to see posts from this simpleton you can go to your Profile > Settings > Ignored Users (scroll towards the bottom) and then enter the name of said simpleton. Standing by for down votes from simple jack.

Does flying start feeling like a job after a while?
Boomer6 replied to Bropofol's topic in General Discussion
All of the things you've mentioned related to preserving medical job opportunities, vacation, etc. make me confident in the following statement: Regarding vacation, I can only speak for what I've seen and heard in the fighter world, but it is quite commom depending on your CC, DO, or WO. You're in an upgrade: don't take leave. You have to projo a TDY: don't take leave. We have an inspection to prep for, there is a base exercise, etc..dont take leave. I know a lot of bros that have lost leave due to these very things (myself included). I also know a few dudes that said, "F that noise my parents have never met their grandchildren so I'm taking leave to go see them." They were taken out of the upgrade, set as the lowest priority, or screwed in their next assignment. All this because they didn't show enough "commitment" based on when they took leave, or that they took it at all during the above events. My point is, this is not how the guard operates. This mindset of screwing over ppl for living their lives because it causes the bobs a minor inconvenience is one of many reasons if I could do it all over again I would never go AD. I'd go straight to the guard. You can still do TFI if you want to dip your toes in to see what active duty life is like. -

Idk what your current qual is but I had a buddy do a -35 marine exchange following a viper tour and he was given lowest priority on upgrades (like he left as a 2E/section lead whatever). Phenomenal pilot, so not a skill issue. I've seen AF commanders treat guard dudes in TFI spots like this just because they, "didn't want to spend the resources on someone that would only be around for one assignment." I'd consider asking your functional who the last guy was to do an exchange and hit them up on the global. If you don't want to do that you can jump on the CAF Fighter Career Field FB page and ask. I know there's dudes on there that have done what you're looking into.

Isn't @Biff_T harvesting Cheetos in NorCal?

By this logic if you have a family member or two that's gay is it safe assume your whole family is a bunch of homos?

So if a pilot from "x" community crashes an airplane for something stupid, now all pilots from that community can't be trusted to fly? Similarly, if you had a CC from community "x" who was a dirtbag, now all ppl from that community are considered trash?

The 3 bobs on the command team are pilots, according to the SOS website.
-
Word on the street is the commandant of SOS has outlawed pen tab patches, name tags with call signs and last name on them, and not zipping leg pockets (where one would place their cover) when outside. Dudes have already received paperwork for "offenses" and are buying extra covers for their pockets when walking outside. DAFUQ indeed.

He's transitioned more times than a Gen Z'er

Easy. You're going to get him all Torqued up...

Are what ifs open? What if...we had the ability to edit a post to add additional BS. Instead of making 3 back to back posts of BS 🤔
-
You old bastards know if you decide you want to add something to your post, you can just edit the post, instead of making 6-9 in a row...? FFS.

So a Bear counts but not a Badger?

Does a tail gun count as an "active capacity"?
