  1. Bowstaff skills, nun chuck skills, you know, skills that impress the girls...
  2. Lots of skuzziness around Langley.
  3. Check out this article from USA TODAY: Medal of Honor recipient shuns spotlight https://usat.ly/210MTeD This is the caliber of dudes in used to, not the Marcus Latrells that are out there capitalizing on their brethren. I love that he silently calls them out for it too.
  4. Disagree, my AMU graduate degree has served me well. My company even paid for it, despite the fact that I already had one from active duty... Disagree all you want. You're a GS/contractor working for the military somehow are you not? I'm honestly not sure, but if I'm right, then there's virtually no difference. Real companies, not one full of a bunch of retired military guys wouldn't look twice at AMU. You can tell yourself they're great all you want. It's still a for profit garbage school. YMMV, there are always exceptions to the rule...
  5. Basically stay away unless the place started as a brick and mortar school. Otherwise you'll get a degree that won't be worth anything anywhere other than the military.
  6. You guys had to take leave? Maybe things have changed 13 years ago they usually said something like, "We'll call if we need you...". Needless to say, I was never there. I did get stuck with planning the dining out. Last one I've attended.
  7. Don't do it unless you want a real degree. Problem will never solve itself if you guys keep getting degrees anyway...
  8. So, sidebar, one of my Chiefs went to the base pool to get a workout (he's a PJ) but the 18 year old girl there told him he couldn't go in because he must have let his membership expire. Surprised, he asked her what on God's green earth she was talking about, it's the base pool. He is military, even has swimming in his PT test for Heaven's sake! She said that things were getting tight, and the base couldn't afford it... The cable, forty tvs that were all on the same news channel, and the three services Airmen sitting at the front counter sucking their thumbs were all mission essential though!
  9. Agree with everything said about 13 Hours. The Revenant was slow, and I guess I'm just not cultured enough to truly enjoy it. OK moments, but overall I found myself waiting for it to be over.
  10. Did you have to get the AoR for wearing these? I don't wanna blow another $140 on "flight approved" boots when I already have these. I just wear them.
  11. That's funny of you think O-5 qualifies as senior leadership. Sq cmd is a great spot for leaders, but that is the last time an O-5 has any real-ish power.
  12. Seamaster was awesome too but if we want to take this thread derailment to it's logical conclusion... On a serious note, it was interesting to see even back in the 50's there was an effort to merge more of the mobility missions into one platform, direct delivery into an austere / difficult AOR and AR for a support CAP Awesome!
  13. Nike SFB's are nice. Had them about a year. Won't ever go back to "authorized" boots.
  14. Agree with positive Star Wars reviews. Was excellent, amd would watch again. Minor complaints here and there, but great movie that recaptured much of the feel of the originals.
  15. There in 2011, and I had a similar, if not more relaxed atmosphere. Never even wore blues. If go back in a heartbeat!
  16. Quite a few friends did this, and are happy in the Guard right now while I'm stuck in a staff job. I was really blown away by the AF's lack of understanding of what's going on in the AF with every general that marched across the stage and basically told us it was up to us (a bunch of O-4) to fix all the problems they'd created. Sometimes they would almost say that verbatim... I was on an exchange, away from Big Blue, when I made my choice, so I don't think I had all the information to make an informed decision. I'm in now, so I'll make the best of it, but I wish I had chosen otherwise.
  17. I didn't punch before school, and now wish I had. Tell him to run.
  18. Already seen the integration talks at ACC... We thought it was a great joke.
  19. Space gone, Intel continued.
  20. Know two guys that got early notification. One has to be out by Dec 1, and they continued the other guy 5 years, just before he would get sanctuary... ETA: one Intel, and one space guy.
  21. Care to quantify "a lot"? I don't think it's all that much, but that could be because I don't respect them as people. Great SEALS while they were active duty, but self glorifying after the fact... Their books are full of "I'm so awesome!" it's disgusting.
  22. Yeah, the thing that bugs me the most is knowing the NFL didn't do this stuff for free. Disingenuous doesn't do it justice.
  23. Wife's family is from the area. I love Spokane, but not much chance of ever getting stationed there. I guess I forgot Huey drivers were included in Rescue.
  24. I bit, but I'm at school right now anyway, so why not. It's an extra 2 years on top of school commitment, but I'm curious as to why, in Rescue, we have a take rate so much higher than everyone. I love our mission, and I have always worked with good people. We're busy though, and that's not changing anytime soon. Curious... I can't wait to get away from Maxwell...
