https://www.newsguardtech.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Daily-Wire-NewsGuard-Nutrition-Label.pdf Thoughts on Daily Wire? Garbage, untrustworthy stuff. Don't take my word for it, look at the people that rate all the websites out there. Here, use this as a guide: https://www.newsguardtech.com/election-misinformation-tracker/ Before you complain newsguardtech.com is evil MSM, here's their list of financial contributors: https://www.newsguardtech.com/about/our-investors/

https://www.technologyreview.com/2020/11/13/1012115/senior-us-election-official-trumps-misinformation-is-insulting/ This guy is the Trump nominee, unanimously confirmed by both sides of the aisle. He calls the presidents false claims of voter fraud and "stealing the election" laughable, insulting, dangerous and an embarrassment. Trump needs to do a better job picking his cronies if he's gonna make it in 2024. Not official, but pretty dang close... I'm sure this, too, is a communist thing to say... Right out of the playbook, right?

https://www.wsj.com/articles/trump-cries-election-fraud-in-court-his-lawyers-dont-11605271267 Interesting read in the WSJ if you have access. BLUF: Not much to the claims when lawyers aren't willing to risk their licenses on unsubstantiated claims. Also, judges won't admit the garbage they try to include. I guess this must mean, only leftist, Democrat judges are hearing all of these cases. You have to admire the incredible planning that the Democrats put into stealing this election. Getting everyone on board with them to include Republicans (must be RINOs) to publicly say there is no fraud, actual government officials in charge of elections to say this was the safest election we've had with no evidence of tampering or fraud, and then all judges (with the exception of one in PA because the AG for sure overstepped her authority) to get on board with the conspiracy as well. Reminder, no results have been made official, and that's not what I'm saying here. Just pointing out that Trump cares about Trump. He couldn't care less about the damage he does to our system of government. The doubt he has sewn and that people have bought, hook, line and sinker is astounding. Our founding fathers are rolling in their graves over what this guy has done to the office... Don't worry, Trump-vision, or whatever he names it, will give all of you something to drool over for the next four years until he runs again. Hopefully, a real politician that cares about what happens to this country surfaces between then and now

How dare they! Trump is always above board. Most presidents do this, right? I hope that's not too communist of a sentiment for you...

Go back and read my post from earlier. I put a link to newguard that does a fairly good job of ID’ing news sites biases. They put a big fat warning on OAN because it is incredibly one-sided. I give CNN, etc the smallest amount more of credibilty than I do Fox. I read them all though because even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes. Guardian, don’t put words in my mouth. The View, if it’s the show I’m thinking of is an entertainment show with narcissistic women that think they know everything. I’ve no clue where you’re getting that from. A year ago, I would have said it’s a very small percentage, but the ideas people have been espousing lately make me doubt that percentage is that small. Especially if you look at the Trump rally ilk, not the most inspiring group of people out there. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Saying it’s worked 45 times in the past isn’t the same as saying it cannot go wrong now. I didn’t say it could never go wrong. Simply stated that the burden of evidence to prove it was broken is on those claiming it is. Of course it could go wrong. Possible and probable are two different animals however. Absolutely saying they both suck as potential presidents. Well, we have 4 years of proof that one of them cannot hack it without being one of the most offensive people ever. I guess if Biden wins when the dust settles we’ll see if he’s better or worse. I’m willing to take my chances on him though... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

No offense, but some of those millions of people agreeing with you also happen to embrace all sorts of other incredibly wild conspiracies. If shady lawyers like that David Kallman guy, or OAN videos and Fox News are your best evidence, forgive the rest of us for not jumping up to believe him. The reason everyone keeps saying it is because you literally just said no one’s given you any evidence as to why the other 72M people should believe the system isn’t broken. How about every election up until now as evidence that the system isn’t broken. The burden of proof is on those claiming it is. You can say it is all you want. I have faith it is not, and hopefully that will be evidenced in a few weeks when this is all done with one of the two worst presidential candidates in the history of the US as the President Elect. He makes some good points. I find it odd how all the fault lies on one side of this equation. The fact that the sitting president has been encouraging people to believe the system will be cheated for months, sorry, years, is completely ignored. Had he give that fact some air time as well, he’d be much more credible. He’s not wrong though, Joe Biden is nothing as of right now. He’s not legally elected to anything. He should still be preparing for that potential eventuality. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Haha, no I didn't. My bad. Thanks for pointing it out. ETA: went back in and clarified that I am an internet newb I guess.
-
You're right. My bad. I read the homelessness, racial injustice, etc. and my brain automatically included crime and violence because that mantra comes from the right so often. My point stands even about homelessness and your other points. My apologies for falsely attributing the crime and violence thing to you. Relax... I am posting nothing to "feel" like I won a debate. This is the internet. That aint happening...

Dude, he's backing you. You missed his point entirely... ETA: I didn't know what /s meant. Seadogs was entirely on top of it! mea culpa

Apples to Oranges comparison. The effect of a parent far outreaches the effect of say, a mayor or city council, on a population. 100% disingenuous way to ignore the point that is being made in my post. My point is that this is a way to complex thing to simply say democrats run things, that's why they're jacked up. There are plenty of instances where there was/is a Republican person in charge in some urban area, and things didn't magically get better. It's easier for the right to say, "oh look, Democrats are in control of that area, and they have problems." It's not that simple. Agreed. Isn't that what Biden is doing? Has he once said to stop counting? Honest question. I don't think there's anything wrong with him proceeding as if he won while this plays out in the courts. I don't think you can equate him saying "Trump isn't doing his legacy any favors" to "I won, stop counting, it's over." Also, that car is uhhhmazing! Saw that when it came out, super cool!

Saying a city has more violence, crime, homelessness and racial injustice because it is democratically led is a false correlation. Simply not accurate, but it's easy to draw that false correlation because most people won't look beyond the surface. From the article: "Is it reasonable to connect the violence and partisanship? In short, no. “I don’t think there’s any data that would allow us to draw a causal conclusion here,” said David Weisburd, executive director of the Center for Evidence Based Crime Policy at George Mason University. “Somehow arguing that Democrats cause crime or something of that sort just doesn’t fit the history of crime prevention in the U.S.” If you interpret the claim as referring to Democratic leadership, Weisburd notes that President Bill Clinton had one of the strongest recent administrations in terms of funding the criminal justice system. But more broadly, linking crime and votes simply doesn’t reflect how crime works. Studies have repeatedly found that urban crime is not a widespread phenomenon — like voting is — but a product of small groups of people in small areas." https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2020/06/24/fact-check-linking-city-violence-democratic-politics-reach/3248102001/ Isn't it more likely that urban areas have more of these problems because they have more people? Every single one of these problems could be due to that fact alone.

https://www.newsguardtech.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/oann.pdf The quoted is a good example of when you can ignore something based on the source. Not credible or reliable. Incredibly biased and pushing an agenda. Edit to add: Oh yeah, also a fair bet that if Rudy is the source you are probably safe to completely ignore it. What happened to that guy...? He was the freakin' man in NYC after 9/11. Guess the stress got to him because he is definitely not credible anymore.

Semantics... So, according to you, someone who has a political bias is incapable of producing anything worth note? Everyone, everyone has a political bias. Look at virtually every article posted on here, the author leans one way or another. Should we disregard everything. Brookings is reputable.

https://www.brookings.edu/blog/the-avenue/2020/11/09/biden-voting-counties-equal-70-of-americas-economy-what-does-this-mean-for-the-nations-political-economic-divide/ Heard this story on "gasp" NPR this morning, so I looked up the report. For the camp claiming economic superiority, counties in the US that voted for Biden accounted for 70% of the US's economic activity... The article talks about Trump winning the electoral college last time but the counties won by Clinton (just threw up in my mouth a little even typing her name) had roughly the same economic impact. From the ariticle: "Why does this matter? This economic rift that persists in dividing the nation is a problem because it underscores the near-certainty of both continued clashes between the political parties and continued alienation and misunderstandings." This rift is scary. People in these rural areas (rightly so) worry that people in these metropolitan hubs are deciding how they should live their lives, and the metropolitan areas are completely out of touch with life in the rural areas. Someone proposed the great idea of breaking DC up and sending govt agencies out across the country. I love that. It would help reduce the gap in understanding, and maybe bring us closer to the middle where we belong. No way to make left and right happy on every issue all the time, but we should be better at compromise...

Not disagreeing with you. We all get carried away sometimes in what, to our perception in the moment, feels like the other side is ignoring the countless examples provided previously.

His answer is valid based on the fact that many people on the side of common sense feel that the right (the side pushing the same conspiracy theories Trump pushed after losing the popular vote in 2016) lacks the self awareness to realize they're being played by a president desperate to cling to power and social media news sources because the real journalists out there are just #fakenews. They think you lack self awareness, and the rest of the world (authoritarian regimes excluded [I say that because they're basically the only ones to have yet to offer congratulations. Good company...]) thinks they lack self awareness. The real reason the rest of the GOP isn't telling the president to stop crying already is because of the run-offs in GA in January. I'd put money on the thought that if the GOP had won those two races outright, you'd have the rest of the GOP congratulating the Biden camp already.
-
One of the frustrating things is that you are immediately labeled a liberal, which is now somehow an insult/cussword in this incredibly divided environment (started with Obama, or you could go all the way back to Gingrich). You're not just of a different political camp anymore, you're somehow the enemy if you don't give Trump your unwavering support. That may be slightly hyperbolic, but the point is fairly strong. What is also hyperbolic are the charges (made by some of the very people on this forum) of the immediate destruction of the US and its identity if a Democrat is sitting in the WH.

AKA, cherrypicking. Thanks for the explanation.
