  1. 14 CFR 61.199 has not officially been changed yet. FOR FURTHER INFORMATION CONTACT: Marcel Bernard, Airmen Certification and Training Branch, Flight Standards Service, AFS-810, Federal Aviation Administration, 55 M Street SE., 8th Floor, Washington, DC 20003-3522; telephone (202) 267-1100; email marcel.bernard@faa.gov. https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2016/05/12/2016-10168/regulatory-relief-aviation-training-devices-pilot-certification-training-and-pilot-schools-and-other
  2. If you read it critically, nothing changes. "Maybe make O-5." "3-4 years" when they are already supposed to be that. "Dream sheet final assignment" when we have to fill out an ADP every time we're on the VML. Smoke and mirrors, fellas...or better "same shit, different day." Move along.
  3. Kill it with fire!
  4. "Not enough female lead actors or actors of color."
  5. Only guy I know to get out of his bonus ADSC was passed over 2x for O-5 and had a bonus ADSC to 21 years. They made him retire at 20 and he didn't get the full final payment.
  6. You can request an earlier DOS to push the deployment out of the way...
  7. Deployment end date must be >30 days from your DOS. Terminal doesn't matter. But even that can be waived. Edit to add: AFI 36-2110 Table 4.2.
  8. Good riddance to a shit program (select via promotion board). Hopefully the new will be less shit. Did anyone catch in Goldfein's text that it said all developmental education...does that mean O-5 and O-6 too?
  9. The metric is $1,000/month of benefits up to $10,000/year. So, if you spend $6K, you'll burn 6 months of eligibility. If you spend $9K, you'll burn 9 months of eligibility. Source: I spent $6K on my ATP because I was lazy and didn't schedule early enough to get in on the $2-3K prices some places had before the end of my old-school ATP written. Given the state of things...you could just get hired by a regional to pay for the ATP. Or like a friend of mine, get hired by a major with only the ATP written done.
  10. It just says "complete." But since you get a TR from it and it shows as a year in your duty history on the OPB it is moot.
  11. I agree that it is the right direction I'm just a little disappointed that there was no attribution to Lt Col Raible.
  12. Too bad he lifted a lot of that letter from a bad ass Marine who died defending his Harriers at Bastion. https://www.grandforks.af.mil/News/Commentaries/Display/Article/763766/leadership-lessons-commanders-guidance-marine-aviation-style/
  13. No, I was just commenting that there are lots of people who already have the list.
  14. Most SRs have the list 7-10 days before the public release. It takes time to make (or up) the non-select notifications.
  15. You know why this joke never gets old? Because they keep trying to do it!
  16. The mobile app has some sort of filter that can't be turned off
  17. Saw an article that the first shot (AIM-9X) missed but the AIM-120 second shot hit.
  18. Him him!
  19. ViperMan, I'd suspect you're trying to spin the story from the Porch. Is it as big a mess as JQP makes it? No, probably not. But could it have been more transparent? Probably. I think the Facebook group is whining...but I also think people are tired of being kept in the dark all the time.
  20. At least you're not a felon for being 6 minutes late... https://www.nj.com/burlington/index.ssf/2017/06/i_am_a_felon_for_being_6_minutes_late_to_a_meeting.html
  21. Do not go with Crazy Carl. There are so many better options.
  22. HAF/A3 is talking about this basic idea. No idea if it will ever come to fruition but they say they are talking about it. Supposedly also talking about a review of all "pilot-required" 365s.
  23. Went to write a retirement medal for a guy. The CC told me not to waste my time since the Wg/CC would never approve it for the guy who failed his final PT test. I know another guy who failed a test once because he was dumb (follow up test a few days later >90). The Wg/CC wanted to deny his MSM for "not meeting standards during the period of the medal." Thankfully the Sq/CC won. Our focus is so ed.
  24. Someone posted the AFRC one but I didn't see the AD one.
  25. But Chuck, "the pilot retention crisis is the AF's #1 priority." Or so A3 says. They even made a "pilot crisis team" or something.
