  1. Unregard. Will return in a moment.
  2. Edited...I didn't RTFQ.
  3. Bottom line: all ATP written exams taken before 1 Aug 14 expire on 31 Jul 16. 61.39 is very specific...you are "An applicant for an airline transport pilot certificate with an airplane category multiengine class rating"...so paragraph B does not apply unless you are applying for another rating. Exception: if you are deployed, you may be able to get the SFAR applied to you.
  4. The last time they changed the commitment...people at a certain point at USAFA were grandfathered in. I think the same happened with ROTC. Those who were not at that point but were "committed" (juniors) were allowed to leave USAFA without a commitment but had to sign the 10 year ADSC to enter UPT. The rest of us schlubs got no choice...10 year commitment when we entered UPT.
  5. I had two removed. One when I was a cadet. It shouldn't be a big deal as long as it isn't causing pain. One of the med guys will chime in with the waiver guide stuff.
  6. This has been floated through leadership. Not sure of its current status.
  7. Requal is only the PCS commitment.
  8. There is the "selection" folder that is available pre-board...you use that one to verify everything in your record is correct. The "board" folder lower down is the "as-met" and is not available until public release. It will have everything the board saw.
  9. Same day as public release.
  10. Cool. Just what I've been saying dickwads. There is not 1 DG. There are 10% of the graduating class and yes, it is in rank order. Thank you for looking up the formula.
  11. DG is 10% of the graduating class. That is still around 90 people that have to be sorted. There is a huge formula that includes stuff like digits of your SSN to figure out line numbers.
  12. Line number has no relation to the rack and stack on the board. There is a formula in an AFI.
  13. Sometimes posts just end (appear to be cut off) on the iOS app. Also, why are swear words censored in the app (cut out of the text completely)?
  14. RE: the F-15C had the control rods reversed. Same size connections but they were color coded...too bad you can't see into that section of the wing when doing the work by hand. The AF crucified the MX guys...separate tragic story ending in suicide. The pilot "stirred the pot" but never really checked the controls. Pilot morted. Years ago, my 78-year-old CFI taught me "thumb's up, tab's up" and I used that whether I was flying a Cessna, the Tweet, KC-10, or anything else. That said, I'm not sure I'd have done it after the first takeoff of the day unless MX had been done during the ground time. I could possibly see myself doing something like that if it was a common technique in the community. Although I hope I would use another technique a really old crusty guy taught me: if you ever do anything to make a plane non-flyable, put a flight glove over the yoke horn (or stick). Even a dumbass like me will look at it and go "now why the did I put that there?" A toast...and my heart breaks that we have more -1 ink written in blood.
  15. Rock bottom line: once your PRF is signed there is no reason to even think about the board because it is worry that won't help you in any way.
  16. I kept waiting but The girls never came!!! Sounds like a personal problem...
  17. Usually 4 months later.
  18. AMC still doesn't know how to utilize WIC grads. Especially in the KC-10 where we stupidly stiff-armed the creation of a WIC...and now our only option for WOs is a -135 pilot who may or may not be able to effectively teach in the -10 (the same would apply the other way if there was a KC-10 WIC and no KC-135 WIC).
  19. This can cause big problems if you wind up detained OR if a border agent happens to see multiple passports. Never take your blue passport when on official travel. Never take your official passport on personal travel.
  20. Agreed. My examples were MAF only. Most of my friends in the CAF have already bailed.
  21. QFT. If you compare the overall "punch" of PRFs coming out of the CAF vs MAF, you will see why. The CAF is better at telling the story. AMC/18 AF does not learn from other commands' successes and continues to write the same limp-dick PRFs with the same limp-dick results (I saw several C-method PRF with punch written for dudes by a very highly rated officer in AMC...get turned into mush by the group and wing leadership). I'm curious to see what the real weight of "job above wing level" is on the O-5 boards as everyone I personally know who was passed over had no staff job at all (including someone with a DP). I only know of one (again my personal observation) person who was passed over on staff and he made every effort to be passed over (refused to do IDE).
  22. You are required to tell the flight doc if you see any doctor who isn't a flight doc (without a referral). Odds are good that the medication, even OTC, isn't on the approved list.
  23. All the AMC slides tell me is AMC is shitty at developing officers [on paper] who don't fit the "magic mold" (i.e. do a Phoenix program).
  24. Policy letters are only good for 6 months.
