  2. There is one good study on just this question (there are lots of good studies on retirement reform...again this is nothing new and has been going on since 1948). You would be surprised at the opinions of your fellow .mil members. https://www.csbaonline.org/publications/2012/07/rebalancing-military-compensation-an-evidence-based-approach/
  3. Still has to be voted and signed...
  4. Literally, he does not.
  5. Sounds like the AF isn't the only place where we laud creativity (Mitchell et al) yet we crucify those who are creative. https://www.slate.com/articles/health_and_science/science/2013/12/creativity_is_rejected_teachers_and_bosses_don_t_value_out_of_the_box_thinking.html
  6. NotADude, looks like you forced their hand. Received in the email box this morning (emphasis added):
  7. The arguments in that article can be found as far back as 1948, when the current 20 year retirement program was set up.
  8. KC-10 is two ACs and a copilot. I think the C-17 are the only gomers who augment with an AC and two copilots.
  9. I went to the United States Air Force Academy. I went to United States Air Force Academy.
  10. Don't feed the troll.

  12. You're a thickheaded one, aren't you? Enjoy continuing to be your commander's go-to bitch who gets all his "leave requests" denied. You're doing this to yourself. No one man is so fucking important that he can't take leave.
  13. You still put it in 30 days out for denial or you don't have any proof that you were denied leave.
  14. You filled out LeaveWeb and made sure your supervisor marked your leave "denied" each time you've been "stonewalled," right? Because if you haven't, then you have fucked yourself.
  15. With the current leave carryover of 75 days, wouldn't you be able to use up to 105 days of terminal leave if you started it in Sep?
  16. We always assumed OSI had narcs when I was a cadet. Guess it was true...
  17. Because that belongs in the Aviation Retention Pay thread...
  18. Not according to the reg.
  19. Read the Rated Retention Report...it is about the same as FY12.
  20. You're not cutting the hourly costs. You are cutting the cost of the entire logistics chain. Perspective: The logistics chain cost per KC-135 is $2M/yr. The logistics chain cost per KC-10 is $10M/yr. Pretty simple math, as briefed by the AMC/CC last week.
  21. If you want the numbers on who got out, go read the FY13 rated retention report. It was slightly higher than FY12.
  22. Briefing today said FY16 could see worst case 1 KC-10 squadron retiring per year until all were gone. Pilots and booms would be dispersed to other airframes. FEs are right fucked...
  23. We could call it "War Operation Plan Response." Although I would recommend we don't hook it up to a modem.
