  1. The C-17s at McGuire would stay. C-17s from an unknown location would move to Travis in place of KC-10s and KC-135s from an unknown location (I assume McConnell due to KC-46 basing) would move to McGuire in place of KC-10s.
  2. Per the AMC/CC (through the telephone game, so take with a grain of salt): AMC will not ask to fund the KC-10 in FY15. What Congress decides to do... If the KC-10 goes away, they want to move KC-135s to McGuire and C-17s to Travis. Expect to crossflow into the KC-135, possibly another AMC airframe. FEs...sucks to be you.
  3. https://www.airforcetimes.com/article/20131120/NEWS05/311200022/USAF-nuke-troubles-run-deep-key-officers-burned-out- This study needs to be expanded to the total AD force.
  4. I'll let the fighter guys explain it to you. However, in seriousness...yes, most of us who have been in the KC-10 for any amount of time (and pay attention) know that the initial CNS/ATM (this attempt) was funded in 2012 along with the replacement BCU...however, future funding has been sketchy at best. The two jets are eventually coming back to McGuire. What happens to the other 57 remains to be seen. Be prepared for the KC-10 to get cancelled. Expect the AF to ask for it (ref AMC/CC comments the past month or so). Expect Congress to consider it and the good Congressmen and women of CA and NJ to oppose...we shall see. As to looking for a new airframe...you're an AC. PHOENIX isn't likely unless you upgrade and work for the Wg/CC. That means UPT, MC-12, UAVs...unless AMC opens a mechanical crossflow due to the divestiture of the KC-10. Big OSA isn't likely, but maybe small OSA is...both are selective.

  6. You will want to get R/T qual'd...or whatever you call it for the -135 guys who give and take. I'll PM you their most recent hiring email for SA.
  7. Nice false dichotomy, bro. There are many of us who're still happy making the mission happen...have great financial plans...and are not school selects.
  8. Hey new guy, tell us about yourself...
  9. Then why are commanders afraid to press to FEB when they have someone who should be removed from flying?
  10. This is why you need a civilian lawyer...and why so many people who should go to FEBs don't. I've been a part of several FEBs, and most of the time it is the first time most leadership (Sq/CC, DOV, DOT, OGV, OST, etc) goes through the process. The reg is a mess. It comes down to documentation...and if there isn't good documentation...well...
  11. I know of several selects on this school list who dropped papers. Good thing we only have one candidate spot per MAJCOM. Hopefully some candidates got put up as alternates.
  12. Apple doesn't allow stores to discount its current product line. If the store does, and Apple finds out, it drops that store as an authorized retailer.
  13. There have been something like 40 attempted reforms of military retirement...from 1949 to present. Only the change from Final Pay to High-36 took effect. Even REDUX was repealed before the first people retired under it. I'm not saying it won't change in the future...as we drastically need some sort of change to the system...unless the DOD budget is allowed to grow with inflation. As it stands, the 2013 Commission is charged with reforming pay and benefits...and is required by POTUS to grandfather existing military members.
  14. DOD asked for 1% pay raise next year. Obama said 1%. Congress wants to continue at 1.8%. As for the rest, the Military Compensation and Retirement Modernization Commission will take public comments again in a few months. See Obama's instructions to the commission here: https://assets.fiercemarkets.net/public/sites/govit/militarycompensation.pdf Remember...all changes have to make it through Congress...who has a 60+ year track record of mostly not fucking with retirement/pay/benefits.
  15. They were red? Or were they rogues?
  16. Except for that year they tried it with KC-135s and the C-17s didn't make it to Australia because they had to divert for gas.
  17. Good. Honest feedback is good...especially since we are all guilty of thinking we're better than we really are. As I have gotten older, I have gained a lot of perspective about my various commanders...I have had good commanders and great commanders. When I read what many people younger than me post on here...I feel completely out of touch with those posts. Life ain't great in the trenches...but it sure ain't as bad as many on here paint it to be, at least in my little corner of the world.
  18. Serious question: how does this "more combat hours" bullet show the board that this O-4 is a better leader than the next?
  19. The problem with your argument is you want leadership yet you rail against it. Undermining your boss does not make you one of the "bros." Didn't we just have a thread where everyone cried foul about the OGV dude who said "It's the boss's policy" instead of "I don't like hats." Make up your damn mind... Yes, there are shittastic leaders in the AF. There are also great ones. I have no personal knowledge of Liquid, so I cannot quantify him as either...but you just crucified him for what you (the collective) cried about in the "What's wrong with AF [sic]" thread. I'll raise Liquid one: it's time for the sorry-ass FGOs and "senior" CGOs to stand the fuck up, stop whining, and fix shit. AKA "Lead, Follow, Or Get The Fuck Out Of The Way."
  20. The current SE culture pisses me off. Any time someone asked me for info that was useful to them...I got it to them. I also tried to spot trends and pass that information to the squadrons. Even though I'm just a schlub with AFSAS access...I try to get people the stuff they need to read so they can learn. Shame on our current SE bubbas. Drunk rant off.

  22. Works well now!
  23. Not to be a negative Nancy, but the 80 series would have to be derated or the pylons would have to be replaced. I thought there was some problem with the winglets vs WARPs but I could be crazy. We should have bought the MD-10 upgrade four attempted cockpit upgrades ago.
  24. Yes. I also refuse to upgrade tapatalk because they made the old paid version free, added advertisements, and released a new paid version.
