This is already happening. I've met more than a handful of guys in RPA's who opted for this route to take advantage of the shorter ADSC (6 years vs 10). Still time to upgrade to instructor, get a couple thousand hours and be in a good position to take advantage of free agency if RPA opportunities are available on the outside. Or they can separate and use the GI Bill to get a real Master's Degree before they're 30 years old. Well planned FENCE Out, I think.
I remember "So help me God" being optional when I commissioned in 2006. You also have the option of using "affirm" instead of "swear" at the start of the oath. So 4 possible permutations of the oath of office. Everyone should be able to find one that works for them.
Why? And re the two above posts: any commander who has a subordinate or their subordinate's spouse commit or attempt suicide should have their command climate investigated. You never know which straw broke the camel's back, but I'm still inclined to blame the motherfuckers chucking hay bales.
Assuming your honeymoon ends exactly as you finish 6 years time in service. 6 years + 4 years of ADSC will still expire before your UPT commitment ends (minimum 11 years time in service). Disregard if your AFSC starts with anything other than odd number between 10 and 12.
I was taught at OTS to salute if your outside, wait for the music to be over (if it's already started) if you're inside and do not rush to change your location either way. Also, I was an Army Brat for 16 years (lived on Army Bases for most of those years) and I have never seen someone get out of the car to salute. Honestly you'd be taking your life in your own hands as you're risking getting squished by some dependapotamus in her minivan texting the rest of the herd about 50 Shades of Gray being 50% off at the PX when she should be focused on driving and maybe noticing all those other cars are stopped for some reason.
Jalepeno Popcorn, we're building a bar in my squadron, my SQ/CC gives a fuck, flight pay even though I fly robots, I haven't polished a boot since 2007, no more Blues Monday, and Schwartz doesn't work here any more.
"Craft" is defined here. Clif Notes version: less than 6 millions barrels per year brewed, not owned by a larger non-craft brewery, and produced by a brewery that primarily produces beer. Examples include Abita, Rogue and Sierra Nevada. Smaller batch beers produced by larger breweries are unofficially designated "crafty"; examples include Leinenkugel and Blue Moon (both owned by MillerCoors). Here are a couple of articles on the subject.
Thirded. Read this entire thread. IFS does not exist to "teach you the Air Force way of flying". It just happens to do that while serving its primary purpose of weeding out those most likely to wash out of UPT. Your plan is basically the same as an NFL team throwing games at the end of the season so they won't get a first round bye in the playoffs so they'll be "better prepared" for the second round.
I did once, didn't catch the racist vibe at the time but probably because all this guy's rage was directed at another target then. At the time he was hating Mike Cooper, the "BRAC Consultant" Enid was grossly overpaying even though there was no BRAC scheduled at the time. His picture was on sticker's plastered in all the urinals. Now that I know this other shit about the guy, I regret spending money there. I hope he gets buttraped in court for turning away a customer for being in a wheelchair.
