I dug up my copy of my most recent clearance application. Here's the relevant text in bold: Section 22: Police Record For this item, report information regardless of whether the record in your case has been sealed, expunged, or otherwise stricken from the court record, or the charge was dismissed. You need not report convictions under the Federal Controlled Substances Act for which the court issued an expungement order under the authority of 21 U.S.C. 844 or 18 U.S.C. 3607. Be sure to include all incidents whether occurring in the U.S. or abroad. For questions a and b, respond for the timeframe of the last 7 years (if an SSBI go back 10 years). Exclude any fines of less than $300 for traffic offenses that do not involve alcohol or drugs. You'll be fine. Also, be sure and make multiple copies of the application for your records. You'll need one when you fill out another SF-86 5 years from now, and they need you to list half of the shit all over again so they can investigate it again. Your tax dollars at work.

Apparently if you are a Staff Sergeant or below, you don't have to tell your supervisor if you are convicted of a crime. Am I reading that wrong? 2.10. Self Reporting Criminal Conviction. If you are above the pay grade of E-6, on active duty, or in an active status in a Reserve Component and are convicted of any violation of a criminal law, you must report, in writing, the conviction to your first-line military supervisor within 15 days of the date of conviction. Depending on the level of your security clearance, there may be additional, more specific reporting requirements (e.g., reporting arrests, in addition to convictions) which must be met. (AFPD 36-29, Military Standards).

This one really isn't that hard. Keep in the people who want to stay, let go the people who want to leave. There are plenty in the latter category. Whatever you do, once the decision is made, let people know in clear unambiguous language what that decision is. Instead of hiding one sentence in an article nobody read. I understand that alot of the nonsense is budget driven, but bringing back morale patches and abolishing Blue Monday are $0 fixes.

I think what some people here are missing is that you'd have to meet the UK's rules in addition to the AF's. Customs doesn't give a shit about the vol 3. I believe so. I could find nothing on square feet per family member in the reg. I've had 2 long TDYs where I brought the family and I chose to stay off base for the purposes of increased QOL and decreased hassle. Good decision each time. For $1170 per month you should be able to find something in most locations. The hotel manager will tell you you aren't permitted to do this. He is wrong.

I read the same reg you did, and this was all I could find: 3.3.3. Lodging assigns families to CL on a voluntary basis when TLFs are fully occupied or adequate space is not available in the VQ (general manager will determine if VQ space is suitable for family and other VQ guests). When the family is referred to CL or makes their own arrangements, lodging must register them in Epitome as a CL or NA room type reservation. I fully expect that the lodging manager will declare whatever room they handed you "suitable". Take your $39 per day and your BAH then go rent an apartment instead.
