  1. That's what you get when you disrespect a man's ostriches.
  2. I'm a tanker dude nonvolled into RPAs, so I didn't take your survey as it wasn't meant for me. It's probably too late now, but I'd have included a couple of questions along the lines of "If you plan on separating, why?". Sometimes you really have to spell it out for people.
  3. They still did at Vance when I was last there, at least on Fridays. And Kadena, but you could get your drinks there for 1/4 of what you would pay off base and get a free cab ride home.
  4. I saw the winning time for the 100m freestyle in 1896. 14 year old me with a time machine would have been the gold medalist by a couple of body lengths and I wasn't anything like the fastest kid on the swim team.
  5. I think what some people here are missing is that you'd have to meet the UK's rules in addition to the AF's. Customs doesn't give a shit about the vol 3. PCSing to/from OCONUS with pets is usually a nightmare, but they're worth it. Dude with the epic dog needs to get started on this shit about 6 months ago. I'd recommend talking to TMO to see who has the contract to fly you overseas, check out that Airline's pet policy, then take circuitous travel rather than hoping you get 1 of the 6 pet spots on the Patriot Express. Alternatively, start the paperwork for the dog and hire someone to fly it to England. I ended up having to pay someone to fly my dog out of Japan because TMO fucked up my travel request.
  6. KHIKYG?
  7. Is this going to be uniformed personnel or are we getting 1-2 civilians per squadron? My previous squadron had 2 civilians and it made life much better, not least because they were never TDY.
  8. And coal is a byproduct of dinosaurs, what's your point?
  9. If they can in turn keep the Migs 20 nm away, then they are worth the money.
  10. I believe so. I could find nothing on square feet per family member in the reg. I've had 2 long TDYs where I brought the family and I chose to stay off base for the purposes of increased QOL and decreased hassle. Good decision each time. For $1170 per month you should be able to find something in most locations. The hotel manager will tell you you aren't permitted to do this. He is wrong.
  11. I read the same reg you did, and this was all I could find: 3.3.3. Lodging assigns families to CL on a voluntary basis when TLFs are fully occupied or adequate space is not available in the VQ (general manager will determine if VQ space is suitable for family and other VQ guests). When the family is referred to CL or makes their own arrangements, lodging must register them in Epitome as a CL or NA room type reservation. I fully expect that the lodging manager will declare whatever room they handed you "suitable". Take your $39 per day and your BAH then go rent an apartment instead.
  12. Check out Vampire's Embrace, NSFW.
  13. That one might be valid, because the crew in question could probably benefit from some divine intervention when the FEB convenes.
  14. Preview of the vows: ... for better or for worse, to love and to cherish, unless someone starts shooting then you and the children are on your own. He could at least have the decency to be ashamed afterward.
  15. There is a crisis of masculinity in this country. It's bad enough that he does this, but then the reporter doesn't call him on it? His wife didn't even appear to be angry when I saw the interview. Guess she knew she married a coward.
  16. NEVER BE ALONE IN A ROOM WITH A PERSON OF THE OPPOSITE SEX AT WORK. We all know what the threat ring is on this one, so don't fly into it. It may have expanded slightly with DADT repeal, but not by much.
  17. Yeah, that was last month. Jughead, no linking to spandex-clad donkey dicks in the future please.
  18. They must have thought you were Chuck Norris. I heard he landed on runway 37 one time.
  19. Don't forget to remove her as a beneficiary of your SGLI.
  20. And I would agree. AU certainly isn't going to correct the problem, since that would put them out of a job.
  21. They probably just loaded all the bombers up the same and 1 planner ran the charts the night before.
  22. Incorrect statement in bold. The new SOS in correspondence will be significantly more time consuming than the current iteration. Getting in on the current course now before they close it to new applicants is exactly the sort of thing a smart Lt should be doing if he's sitting around on casual status, assuming he's a captain select. The current course should literally take 6-9 hours to complete, if you count the time driving to and from the education office. This will no longer be valid on 28 September.
