Yes. Why is this okay? AI is a big deal. We don't want to come in second in the race for AI dominance. Edit: In this scenario, I don't think it's (government intervention) a huge problem. I mean we have NASA for space exploration. AI and soon AGI will bring an insane amount of change to society. The kind of change that people will kill for. -

NBC? Really man? It doesn't change what's written in the article. However, I look at AI as more of national defense item than a normal business. It's the new space race amigo. If we lose it, we're doomed.

IMHO If you have the funds, go CFII until you have ATP minimums and then try to get on board at an airline. You can get paid as a CFII (not much money but plenty of hours and knowledge gained from instructing new pilots) while waiting for a regional or mainline company to hire you. Continue to apply for the USAF during the process of becoming a professional pilot. The few CFIIs I knew did a little better at UPT and the regionals (RIP Compass).
