  1. What advice would I give? None. My wg/cc ensures, among other things, that My wing has the training and equipment necessary to wage an air war. If wg/ccs lack the judgement to make a decision on a Fvcking morale patch, then I'm screwed and the terrorists win. They already have enough competence to figure out this insignificant- yet morale boosting decision. Good to see someone trusts their subordinates.
  2. just what kids need these days- more slack.
  3. not sure what you mean as all sq/ccs are first time sq/ccs. No one is picking on the tankers.
  4. Every TAMI guy I know is flying right now unless they slept with their captors. Sorry to hear you didn't escape. Chang - I enjoy my job. CBTs, shoe clerks and the CGOC piss me off, but I take them in stride because I get to fly a Mach 2 death machine that turns 12000 lbs of dead dinosaurs into greenhouse gasses in .9 hours and hurls exploding metal things at people and stuff that want to kill Americans. If you A1 buttholes will just let me keep doing that then I think we can tolerate each other.
  5. I knew a missile guy turned rpa operator. He was the happiest guy in RPAs.
  6. At our AF officer call, they told is that the plan was to be done with the cuts this year. Rip the band-aid off and at the end of the year, we have what we have.
  7. That vision is way too utopian to be realistic.
  8. When I applied for the last VSP, I did so because at the time, it was an opportunity that would have been good for me and my family, and I assumed incorrectly that the AF no longer needed me. Imagine how surprised I was when my boss got so pissed over my application that he kicked me out of creech and sent me back to the viper. In case your sarcasm meter is inop, that last sentence is tongue-in-cheek. Granted, things could not have been worse for me from a flier's standpoint, but don't BAP out of an opportunity because you heard some dude got corn holed for no other reason than a VSP application. I won't be applying for this round of VSP because I love what I'm doing now, but I'm not going to arrogantly tell people that if they apply for VSP they face a certain fate. If getting out of the air force is the right thing for someone and they are eligible, it seems like a no brained to me.
  9. Supposedly, according to them. There's always another side to that story. Maybe that's what put them on the bottom of a rack&stack, maybe it's not. I personally haven't witnessed the star-player-turned-dirtbag scenario because of a vsp application.
  10. My money is on the bonus staying the same or going up for 11Fs next year. But then again I thought I made a mistake once, but I was wrong.
  11. I know one guy that didn't check his email and missed the "dignity and respect" data burst. I want to believe Chang is a troll, but the hairs raise on my neck when I consider that he is in some sort of position if influence. Kurtz would be proud.I get what your saying Chang, and I don't disagree. It's just some times you drive a point home with a heavy dose of Aspergers and a side of Tourettes.
  12. I'm trying to imagine a military organization where bitching about wearing my godamn cover trumps bitching about cut flying hours, bullsh*t masters degrees and sexy assault training. YGBFSM. Must be rough over there in the guard.
  13. Not sure if this final attempt passes the gear pig muster.
  14. But he's retired. The lines of reality are more easily blurred for some I guess.
  15. Judgement. Like leadership, judgement comes in many forms-good, bad, mediocre. I would argue good judgement is a requisite for good leadership. Good judgement, among other things and at the very least is crucial in knowing your audience, knowing when you've lost them, and knowing when to stop talking.
  16. Geezus, this horse won't die. No Bach+, still went to SOS and still managed to be in the top 88% of my peers to be promoted to maj. My story is not original, but I never worked for that one "douchbag O6" who gave a sh1t about pt scores.
  17. Pilot haters have called me many names, but never "god-like".
  18. I get the impression you think it's wrong to accept a bonus unless everyone gets a bonus. Rhetorical More of the same whining drivel without substantiating facts or at a minimum, a personal perspective. you must be extremely unlucky to have had nothing but sh1tty commanders. I've had a mix of both, but even the lousy ones looked out for their folks. Look harder And to think the solution to the problem AFPC has been looking for all along is right here in the preceding paragraph. Love or hate GC, I suggest you read some of his original posts before he started bagging on pilots- you may learn something if you can separate yourself from your emotions.
  19. More importantly, it needs to be in your duty history. The board looks at that
  20. You're out of your mind. At what point do you pause to consider that after 169 long winded, redundant posts, maybe there is a problem with the presentation rather than the comprehension?
  21. As a sq/cc, If he condoned the Dixie chicks doling out old-fashions on Friday afternoons in the bar, it doesn't matter anymore because he answers wholesale to congress. I'm all for unrestricted climbs regardless of the time-of-day or runway, because in my little world that is awesome. The wing commander disagrees, but he used to think it was awesome too. Sight pictures change.
  22. This doesn't help anyone. It portrays you as an emotional 8th grader, and personal attacks don't change anyone's mind. It also adds credence to the argument that company grade officers need more practice in writing short essays. ^this What rubs me is that the culture I was raised in and enjoy being a part of is under attack for no good reason. I'm usually the first to raise my glass in song. While singing "Chicago", if "a woman came in for a canoe, a canoe from the store" and left with a "glass bottom boat" instead, I can't help but laugh. I drink whiskey, tell jokes, partake in shenanigans and somehow- despite all this- I have never committed or been accused of sexual assault. When I'm not singing offensive songs written by heroes of wars-gone-by, the other 99% of my time at work I'm performing my secondary duty, or preparing/flying/debriefing a mission. I think us rowdy line flyers are being misunderstood. But the blame doesn't all lie with "upper management" that is out of touch with the worker bees. I had a commander tell us amidst all this witch-hunting and sleuthing for porno in the squadron to "use some judgment". It is the poor judgment of a few that we now face the consequences of. I'm all for personal accountability - it is the opposite of diapering the masses for one rogue turd. Give me the latitude befitting my rank as an Officer. If singing from our songbooks once a month in the bar is now considered ball walking, let me take that stroll. Hold people accountable if they go to far, but attacking a culture that builds trust and comradery - no matter how juvenile it may seem to the outsider - only serves to hurt morale when you already have a morale problem.
  23. Truth. Standing by for the "everyone's a warrior/my buddy got screwed" crowd pile-ons.
  24. Maybe use a darker shade of pink?
