  1. But not surprising for a guy named sparkle
  2. I’m not sure how a question as to what FIGHTER airplane to choose turned into an orgy of robot fluffing nerdery. Having been in both, the three years I spent caring for my droid via satellite link I wish I could ram dump from memory. I tried rationalizing the gross mismanagement of manpower that befell me into that community with consoling one liners like “I get to kill a lot of bad guys”. In the end I could not rationalize away the disdain I had for being put in that community. Your dream sheet should look exactly like this: Vipers Hogs F35 Raptor Any manned aircraft Faip Droids Janitor at chipotle Strike Eagle
  3. Yes and they don’t fvck around
  4. I have an 8-0 undefeated record in the octagon of reg-fu, and 7 of those one round KO matches were with finance, yet they keep insisting on a rematch
  5. Insanity. And it’s a precedent for the caliber of decisions to be made if the balloon goes up.
  6. Glad I’m not the one that everyone looks to for a solution. I don’t know what I’d say if interviewed.
  7. I read the same thing in ACSC!
  8. If only there were an entire thread on this topic- a thread with links that work and don’t take me to a spam site.
  9. Really? No way to force people? I guess plenty of draft dodgers figured it out but for the rest of the draftees/conscripted, the man is smarter than your pot habit.
  10. Poetic with bluntness and accuracy.
  11. But I'm special... And that's 90% true. I never had another undesirable assignment. I simply costanza'd the AF after a righteous deployment, got hired with "the unit", and told the boss I was quitting. My OG, being the great dude that he is and one of many good guys I worked for on AD, called the porch to get me the AD billet at "the unit"- why he did this is anyone's guess. Dare I say that he was a great boss and wanted what was best for me and my (previous) family? Maybe he wanted to keep another fighter pilot around and did what he could at his level to affect that? It was a symbiotic decision- I got the move paid for via PCS, an IPUG on the AF dime and the AF got to keep an extra digit on the spreadsheet- until I quit at the end of my one year ADSC incurred from oconus to conus. But make no mistake- I never had an undesirable assignment. Some drunk guy once told me to never quit your job unless you have another lined up. That advice seemed to make sense at the time... At any rate, the attempt at my retention was to no avail. I'm a guard guy now at "the unit" loving life and the GS pay that goes with it.
  12. I always thought they trained the pilot and got the wso for free...
  13. Why is it so frowned upon to want to be a leader? Why is it assumed that if you do want to go in that path, you're a back stabbing knob bobber?
  14. Don't underestimate the value of boozing with a bunch of folks outside of your career field. Some call that networking and it is tax deductible. Many lessons have been learned over a few cold ones. Boozing with your bros is part of the SOS experience and along with the sober discussions, I found it valuable. If anything, I learned that not all officers are created equal.

  16. To be fair, and as a rape victim of Tami, I would have slept with BQZip's mom for an assignment to aggressors instead of droids. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  22. I wonder what the story is behind that air medal. Anyway, it takes more to offend me these days than some old retired colonel being proud of his military service. Fortunately I'll never make colonel, so I probably won't offend the snaps if I park at the ass end of the BX parking lot with my OIF ribbon on my truck with the rest of the crusty majors.
