CMSAF Enlisted Jesus did a AMA over on reddit - https://old.reddit.com/r/AirForce/comments/9ezg0x/im_cmsaf_wright_ask_me_anything/?author=CMSAF18KalethOWright

Have you read them all, do they hold up to the originals? I wasn't a fan when I heard about how they continued the series, but love the original Clancy books.
-
Not if you write the PD correctly, and hire correctly.

They have a kid together, so it's more a solid block than dodge.

Looks real - Updates (kinda) - Thread - https://www.reddit.com/r/ChoosingBeggars/comments/9a34sw/begging_for_a_wedding/ That's a good board to follow anyway, lots of stupid/entitled people.

Wasn't that DTS/GTC born off the good per diem change? I don't care to check back through the pages, find a 2Lt to do it.

I hope she took a good sample.

Making the HPO thing official, not sure if this goes in this thread, or in what's right for being open about it. https://www.airforcemag.com/Features/Pages/2018/August 2018/USAF-Seeks-to-Groom-Standout-Squadron-Commanders-.aspx

So, in non-staff-speak (correct if wrong): MAJCOMs ain't actually paying shit for your "new" contractors and are directing you to use "Innovation Funds" to cover it. Therefore getting credit for more contractors and utilization of "new funds" at the same time? Or that's just your MAJCOM?

As Chief of the Base Ops Uniform Board, I agree.
-
Just so we're clear, the guidance is: It's ok to screw-up, just don't do it publically.
-
So...never update the uniforms, or research new materials. Ok.

Legit was not expecting that author. Thanks for posting, good read.

Guess I'll be the only person who supports and thinks going back to something we had before McPeak is a good idea™. As someone who led Airman and had to wear the Service dress 4+ more times a year, going back to the 4 pockets I saw growing up would be fantastic. It's kinda legit heritage. Imagine if we get back to the Hap Arnold symbol with this leadership crew. Would you all complain that's a waste too? Sure, there's other things to focus on as well. But it's not like you're going to pull someone out of the uniform board, tell them to retain more Airmen and it'll have an impact.

The Meg, it's exactly what it appears to be. As long as you go into with those expectations, it's a simple, awful and fun movie. Note - I'm getting tired of every side-protagonist being Chinese. I get it, the market is huge over there and Movie executives gotta eat. But they had the Communist flag shown twice at the end of this flick, and no other flags shown at all.

That app's getting a lot of good news. If you like spicy investing meme's (mostly around options), and watching people lose money they don't have, check out - https://www.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbets/ I laugh my ass of daily and enjoy the throwback language of the 90's.

Plus...civilians are "cheaper" in the long run.

Sorry, lack of clarity on my part, Surely got it right - I meant Cyber Warrant Officers. We haven't actually referred to our Patches as WO's strangely. Usually it's "Patch" or Weapons Officer...huh, just realized that. I don't think popping off space is going to make us integrate any more, or less effectively for cyber. I imagine there's going to be some of my ilk that cross over, and the Army and Marines will lose their chunk of personnel as well. From my perch, cyber integrates "Ok" now, and everyone wants it. So we have more conversations now than I've seen before. Some good (Oh, you can do X to their capes?) and some bad (What do you mean you can't hack the missile in flight?) . I'm not talking about NIPR, which is getting better as leadership has actually figured out you've got to pay for the systems to actually get jets off the ground.
-
Granted I'm institutionalized at this point, but I'm still not convinced a separate service is the right move for our domain at this point. There needs to be a lot of figuring out of authorities and everyone's hands in the pie for IT vs. Cyber Ops/Def. Space has a longer history, and once had their own command. I can't believe I'm writing this, but 468 days until I retire...so my give a cyber-shit is low. Plus I've had to argue with SSgt's/Lt's about why there's not going to be Cyber-WO's anytime soon, and they're convinced Enlisted Jesus is going to make it happen like OCPs.

File this under - "Congratulations, you're not guilty but you're a pain in the ass. There's the door."

I was only following orders and was told the pilots were dedicated to that job, could just sleep at their homes at night. No, I didn't believe that story either.

Telework for "deployed" folks was actually something I worked on while at 24AF. By "worked on" I mean the AMC/A6 called my boss and asked, why setting up accounts on AFCENT for the deployers didn't "just work" to connect to AFNET...AMC/CC project...CSAF visibility...it worked at X location. Of course, light on details at X location. Some Comm Sq/CC over-promised & got some hack solution for their specific situation working, sold it as a fix for pilot retention and then fucked up my week. I don't think we ever got it working because I stopped tracking it when Win10 became the thing and didn't hear about it again. I hope it did, it's a good idea.

You do you, boo. I've had 2 back surgeries, crushed disc at 19 and then a bone spur compressing the sciatic nerve at 35. I got addicted to narcotics to deal with the pain while the AF figured it out. PSA - Withdrawals suck. Now I've got bone spurs in both heels that look like eagle talons on the x-ray. I've never failed a PT test, but I've come close. I can't depend on my body to not fuck itself. I also carry all of my weight in the midsection, so the tape is a constant struggle. Every time I get to a place I consider acceptable for PT another part breaks. I do what I can, track food, diet...workout as directed by the medical hobby shop. The stress that hits me for PT testing is unlike anything else I've ever done (CDC or promotion testing enlisted, undergrad/grad classes, alone with SrA Hotness, etc.).
