I've never seen active duty officers work another job. Hobbies that made them money... Sure. But not something with dedicated hours and "a boss.". I know there was clear guidance of "no" while I was on OTS. Enlisted, all the time with CC approval.

I agree for the most part. We've seen what Obama's foreign policy brought. More death and destruction which he claimed to want to get rid of. Trump's been a lot of talk and chaos. We'll know in another year what role his bluster will do on the world stage. I'm not a fan. Plus the parade is ing stupid.

For this the report mentioned the admin duties and other work that's been given to pilots, not your actual job. The one page is rather daming, not sure if the rest of the 69 is worth the look. Let me know when SECAF starts holding some former 3 & 4-stars accountable...

Pacific Rim 2 - Fun addition to the original. If you liked the first, this one goes a little more light heartd, but has some interesting story decisions that kept me invested throughout. Ready Player One - Typical Spielberg quality with a mind-numbingly simple story trying to get by on cramming as many past pop-culture references as possible on a screen. Go see it either late, or after a few weeks to avoid the teenagers and weaboo's who think they're hip screaming when they see their favorite Pokeman.

So, I'll just say that if it's as lined up as you say and not a burden I'd probably pull the trigger myself. I'm older now, and the idea of finding a home I actually like, where I want to live is becoming my #1 priority.

So, Rocky Mountain AFCEA is in full effect this week. Basically the place all the GO's go to hobnob with their future employers and actually get work done. New AFSPC/CV preaching the truth about Cyber Ops Officers though - We've been offered a retention bonus and people still aren't staying that are worth much. Because there's the chance you'll get pulled off keyboard after your first/second assignment and go to a job that utilizes NONE of that experience. Plus we've still got Col's who think that we can't be a AFSC with "Have's and Have Not's." So from Cyber Ninja to Traditional Comm Sq should be looked at as good career progression, or to MAJCOM staff working the GO's cloud infrastructure project...or Win10 migration. We're all considered 17D's...which makes it easy for AFPC to move us around...because that's what's important.

Can confirm. Had a LtCol who was exec for a 4-star. He lost the keyed secure cell-phone in the O Club parking lot...in a foreign country (ok.. it was Ramstein). I tried to dissuade him, but he "wanted to get used to carrying it for the boss." Nada happened. BLACK pen, thank you.

Also, word on the former-Comm side is a lot of the execs were Comm O's as well. I remember my first assignment (still an E) the Wing King's Exec was Mx. Wasn't until mid-2000's it started looking like a "promotion opportunity." But I may be mis-remembering when it happened.
