  1. Note - interactions mentioned before were face-to-face. I subscribe to the arguing on the internet w/ retards rule.
  2. Wing CC here does both. Wish I could say I was the bigger man and it wouldn't matter if he did or didn't. But it does. He wears them with his WIC patch, which caused a nice conversation between us. I'm a grown-ass man, and in some little part it bugs. Imagine all the young Amn and the perception. Sure.. we're here because some of us Airmen wear bags. But the vast majority don't. Where I'm at it's not even the front-end of the jet that the mission really depends on, it's the full back end - most of whom wear ABU's when not flying. So.. it shouldn't matter. But when you get to that position of authority and trust with your Airmen and lead the whole base, it does.
  3. John Wick was pretty good. Better than any version of Taken.
  4. It's amazing how much of this crap goes on today in the financially constrained/deployment heavy environment we're in. Some old-POS SNCO/FGO thinks the AF is babying the Amn/NCOs/CGOs these days and need toughing up. All my Amn are working harder, longer hours, with less support and funds than ever before. But somehow we're soft and don't know how hard it was back in the day, so additional training's got to take place. On top of the resiliency/CAF/Safety/etc days. Some idiot thinks additional support should be offered because it's a "nice to have" or throws us under the bus because we "won't" support an additional 5K customers without additional manning. God, I wish I was making that last one up. As a prior-enlisted, and old looking, officer I get rolled into this soft crowd, that doesn't understand how "hard" it was in the late 90's thru '07. It usually doesn't go well for that individual.
  5. You think the money makes it worth it?
  6. I was thinking there were TTP's and intel on the enemy the aggressors had that normal's didn't.
  7. Saw Imitation Game as well. Enjoyed it for a different take on WWII stuff and for the "history." Most of my Amn probably don't even know who he is... sadly.
  8. Depends on the sub-reddit. Some are blocked, some aren't. Not controlled by your local CS. Again, it's not blocked at your CS. I haven't tried to login in awhile, so I forget at what level they're blocking it (regional, AF, DISA). I'm guessing regional, but if anyone on the west coast is having issues, please speak up and that'll indicate higher. I'm glad we're talking about this rather than having to listen to the gray-hairs complain about youtube and facebook while they spend all day on espn updating their fantasy-sport game that's totally cooler and more real than video games or D&D.
  9. Holidays. It's just a slow period.
  10. So glad that thing happened in 1947 where we don't have to worry about that. We don't put enough to aviation assets on our own!
  11. and this is why space needs to get out of the cyber business. :)
  12. I'm the Cyber guy and I didn't get it.
  13. Ah yes, I was asked for that card one time to get on Offutt. Luckily I had it with me for some reason. Never asked again.
  14. The F-35 Can't Run On Warm Gas From A Fuel Truck That Sat In The Sun
  15. If they said the Air Force Band was coming, they needed volunteers to set up, tear down, and watch the show. I'd actually go.
  16. About normal for the idiots around here.
  17. I just want a budget...
  18. Haven't finished it yet, and some of the editorializing is.. annoying. But I found it a good read and indicative of the problems our leaders face when trying to make all parties happy. https://www.nytimes.com/2014/11/30/magazine/the-militarys-rough-justice-on-sexual-assault.html?smid=tw-share&_r=1 Wow.
  19. I think it's pretty interesting all the front runners have declined to even entertain the idea. Also, it's worth noting that Hagel is reported to have pushed back against many of the things we on here bitched about the military being involved in (ex. Ebola) and was given the axe for it.
  20. Jethro Tull's pretty cool. How many albums has he released?
  21. Oh..well. network security demands that I get rid of that for you. 1. Big Lebowski 2. O Brother Where art Thou 3. Matrix (all hail our one god Neo)
  22. Interstellar - awesome hard sci-fi flick. Very 2001-ish.
  23. This one? https://www.af.mil/AboutUs/Biographies/Display/tabid/225/Article/108119/general-lori-j-robinson.aspx
  24. Other articles say this was at the club in front of enlisted folks, unrelated to a debrief. Do you guys do that?
