I believe the whole "how high, how far you can see" is more trigonometry than physics. Cheers, Cap-10

SOF, I used to deploy to the Deid back when we lived in Camp Andy (before Coalition City, etc) and we wore civies, back then...I was also there when they first started cutting down on open toe shoes, Tiva's, etc that then lead to the PT gear all the time policy...it had NOTHING to do with offending the host nation...the Qatari's never set foot in the Camp/City and whatever work was down was by TCN's, and the Qatar's didn't give two sh!ts about their feelings. It had everything to do with a base commander that was makeing a "leadership" decision that didn't take any effort on his part....the guys on the ground at FOB's didn't get to wear civvies, therefore we didn't get to either....at least that is what was being spread around by the base Senior NCO's. I know an Viper Driver that was passed over to Major in the zone...made it ABZ, and then made Lt Col IPZ as well. There's still hope! Good Luck! Cheers, Cap-10

I think HeyEng hit the nail on the cranium. I think the intent is not to screw a guy when the full up unit is mobilized, but to prevent a guy who has 17.99 years, who then gets put on 30 days on orders, from declaring sanctuary on day one. Cheers, Cap-10

Castle Doctine: 1) Owner didn't provoke the intrusion and is insider her house legally 2) Intruder is there illegally and made unlawful entry to the house 3) Owner reasonably believes the intruder intends to inflict bodily harm Illinois does have castle law with no requirement to retreat...sounds within the bounds of law to me What's to prevent the squatter from doing all the things you proposed back to the legal owner and her child? You do know the squatter changed the locks on the legal owner when she illegally moved in. The real travesty is that the illegal squatter has more rights here and the proof of ownership is on the legal owner, who then has to get an eviction notice (30 days notice) that the squatter can then appeal. A .45ACP and only one side to the story (mine) sounds much simpler! Cheers, Cap-10

There would be a dead squatter if that was me. "Hello police, you need to come to my house...i came home, thought I was being robbed, felt threatened, and shot the perp....no, there isn't any rush, the perp is lying very still and will be here when you arrive....getting her opinion on the incident might be kind of tough!" While you are right it's not a reward for past performance, you can't really separate the two. If your OPR history shows a trend of mediorce performance and half-assery, then chances are you will continue to be middle ground If your OPR history show a trend of DG's and "my #1 xyz", chances are you will continue to be a fast burner. Having said all that, we all know people that turned out to be sh!tty commanders, but got promoted or put on ACC/HAWK list because of who they worked for during their staff tour to the 5 sided wind tunnel. Cheers, Hoser

Reviews the officer’s record of performance (including boards where promotion opportunity is 100%) and other information as outlined in the pre-board MPFM, prepares the AF Information Management Tool (IMT) 709, Promotion Recommendation Form (PRF), and provides the officer a copy approximately 30 days before a Central Selection Board. AFPC stats vs AF Crimes with only unique deployments....WOW! JTACS / EOD / SFS have been 6 on/6 off for some time now...please tell me what is the deployment to dwell ratio for you and the other fighter squadron finance officers? How many times during a normal 3 year assignment do you typically deploy? Do you know many people that then get a 1yr remote / 365TDY just becuase it's "their time"? Sh!t, I was deployed/TDY 200+ plus days and that was back in 2004...welcome to the fight! MC-12's are 210 boots on the ground, and that's after 3 months of stateside TDY's away from their families. Finance is the MOST deployed my ass! Like Rainman, I am crying! Cheers, Cap-10

I've flown the SR-22T out of Duluth....sweet ride all around! Cheers, Cap-10 -
Another tid-bit: Your rater is supposed to give you your PRF NLT 30 days prior to the board commencing...this is supposed to give you time to review in case of errors (and submit any letters to the board). For those that were passed over and you saw your PRF < 30 days prior (or didn't see it at all), make sure that is brough up during your appeal process. I'll try to find the AFI reference and repost later. Best of luck to you guys! Cheers, Cap-10

You'd be lucky is that kid had an ATP...most of the regional FO's are hired with the signature still wet on their commercial ticket. Hiring Mins: Piedmont: 650TT, 250PIC Pinnacle: 1000TT, 200ME ExpressJet: 1200TT, 50ME Skywest: 1000TT, 100ME, 100 Instrument Not a single ATP Requirement...this will change in Aug 2013 when the NPRM goes into affect requiring both crew members (Part 121 and 135) to have an ATP rating. Cheers, Cap-10

I don't think the Palace Chase reg says anything about being passed over, so my guess would be 2/3rd of your initial ADSC. Having said that, anything is waiverable...good luck! Cheers, Cap-10

Upon further review (by the full time referee's) of my slightly inebriated post, it would appear I added a few too many "f@cks" Then there was much rejoicing, and then we f@cked For hours and hours, uprooting trees, shrubs and flowers Like vikings, with horns on our head. Cheers, Cap-10

Have you tried DRMO for the gun barrels? In my last squadron, we requested 6 barrels for use in our squaron bar (foot rails) and going away for the SQ/DO. They send us 6 cases (6 barrels per crate)...and there was much rejoincing! Cheers, Cap-10

https://www.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123317364 So $18.3 million price tag for install....projected savings were $550K/yr...array has 30 yr life span: 18,300,000 / 550,000 = 33 yr break even point. So instead of paying $16.5M over 30 years (550,000/yr) we (government) decided to pay (spend out tax money) $18.3M right meow (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act) for a project that was destined to fail unless better than expected results were obtained? WOW! Cheers, Cap-10

I deployed with the Chief of the Fighter Porch and bent his ear over a beer in Germany....he said even if all the UPT bases could max out their T-38 production and the FTU's could max out their B-courses, no one washed out, and AFPC only filled fighter cockpits, AETC cockpits and fighter staff billets (so no UAV, no MC-12's, no ALO, etc) and it all happened over night right now, we are 690'ish fighter pilots short...obviously it doesn't happen over night, so projections will be 690+. I've also been flying with someone who works in AETC/A3...he said there was actually a proposal to stop sending 11F's to T-38's (they are already min-manning 11F's to T-6's) and that the ACP take rateright now was 2nd lowest ever. Seems that the general consensus is that it will get worse before its get better. Good luck everyone! Cheers, Cap-10
