Another push for https://www.snackostuff.com/ ....it's owned/operated by an F-15E WSO....they only hiring military dependents...products are good quality too. Turn around time is also nice: As a mayor, I would order 24 nametags (B-course naming) on a Monday afternoon, and I could pick them up Friday morning....Mardon would never achieve that! Cheers, Cap-10

When we teach recoveries at the FTU we make the UP/UW's scroll off of the ADI, which forces them to HOTAS to it as part of their Recognize, Confirm Steps. Piston was a student of a mine....him, him!!! Cheers, Cap-10

My Seperation Code was FGQ...I was also told I don't get TAMP from MPF and the base TRICARE office....when I went to get my Reserve CAC on day one, I got my TAMP card as well (it looks like the dependent ID Card) and the expiration date was 180 days after my day 1 in the Reserves. Cheers, Cap-10

Whats the funniest thing you've heard over the radio?
Cap-10 replied to Gravedigger's topic in Squadron Bar
AMC parent reg says "if you get TCAS RA, then you will file HATR"....that's what I was told from every Wing Safety Officer that was pinging me (STS) for info when their Tanker or C-17 filed HATR's on an aircraft out of Bagram. Cheers, Cap-10 -

Tanker then files HATR, which gets routed to fighter bases' chief of flight safety requiring investigation......I really hated that!!!! Cheers, Cap-10 -

Call made to Boston App: "Boston Approach, Northwest Flt 69, DRUNK with Whiskey".....DRUNK is a reporting point going into Boston Logan, Whiskey was the ATIS. Cheers, Cap-10 -
My last squadron was going thru a vault update and the ASM couldn't find anything in the standard GSA pipeline/catalogs....eventually had to get a local cabinet maker to custom build what we wanted. Cheers, Cap-10

I have been in a two ship of F-15E's that flew into O'Hare....500 foot initial! After the PR function (Tuskeegee Airman on the ramp, looking at the planes) we got unrestricted climbs to 15K. We did not get gas or pay any fees. Cheers, Cap-10

Ralph is a great airboss....I love it when he makes someone sit in his penaly chair during the brief. George Kline is a great boss as well. Rob Reider is the best narrator in the biz, IMHO. Cheers, Cap-10

Carl at Accessible Aviation is a good dude. I, along with 6-9 of my squadron mates have used Accessible Aviation to get our ATP ratings. While it is technically a flight school, I don't see why he wouldn't rent you an airplane after a local checkout (required for insurance)...after all, the airplane isn't making him money sitting in the hangar. Give him a call an ask. Cheers, Cap-10

Lots of kids left behind with this one.....The River Rats and Air Warrior Courage Foundation have been in contact with the unit and are working to establish 529 college accounts for all the children. I will post donation info as soon as I get it. Nickel on the grass! Cap-10

The JFTR allows you to move off base at any time (with or without a Non-A slip) but without the Non-A, you will only get the max $39/day lodging rate. Cheers, Cap-10

My orders say "Partial Govt Meals are available" and "Per Diem is based on the availabiltiy of Govt Quarters and Mess" My orders are for 97 days and Estimated Per Diem costs are $8,799.78 VOQ rate is $39/night (97 x $39 = $3,783) So the differnece should be the portion of per diem for food and incentitals: $8,799.78 - $3,783 = $5,016.78 $5,016.78 / 97 days = $51.69 per day Hope this helps! Yes. Clovis "has" (currently) more good stuff than FWB/Destin when you were first stationed there. I "remember" (in the past, implying its related to your statement one sentence earlier about your first assignment there) crab island...blah, blah, blah. Unless my reading comprehension is way off, your post most certainly implys that you think the current day Clovis is better than the FWB crab island crab boil excursions of your past. Me personally, after spending a couple of weekends at both locations (TDY's / XC's), I would take FWB/Destin every day of the week and twice on Sunday! Cheers, Cap-10 Edit: I type goodly.

It took about 2 weeks for me to be "gained" into the Reserve system. Once DEERS caught up, it showed me as backdated to the day after my DOS. Cheers, CP-10

Command Sponsorship vs. Non-command Sponsorship
Cap-10 replied to The Kayla's topic in Military Spouses
I took my wife and kid non-command sponsored on my 1 year remote to Korea back in 08-09. I don't think much had changed since then, but take it with a grain of salt: 1) Yes. When the AF sent me remote, they still had to pay a housing allowance because I left my wife/kid "behind". Since they have to pay a BAH/OHA anyway, they don't care the location, as long as they don't have to pay to move the family there. I think they will get OHA with dependents for the England location. 2) Osan had a full up hosipital as well and my wife and kiddo used it on a space-a basis. They could also only make appointments the day of, so it was space-a, Having said that, hospitals have ER rooms, so when out kid had a high fever and we couldn't see the flight doc until 1630 that day, we just walked into the ER and were immediately taken care of. There's no much trauma going on on a daily basis so the ER always had someone available, Our daughter also came down with a bad rash that they thought may have been food/allergy. We were sent up to Yongsan to the large Army hospital to see a dermatologist....all of this was done on a non-command sponsored status. 3) Yea 4) This might be slighly different because I was going remote, but i could only ship 10% of my max allowable weight. I was a O-4, so my max was 17,500lbs so I could ship 10% of that....not sure of your friends scenario becuase he/she is PCS's to a normal assignment, not a remote. Hope this helps! Cheers, Cap-10 -
We gave an incentive ride to Priest Holmes (yes, the KC running back). He didn't G-LOC, but after the canopy popped, he didn't get out of the plane for 30 minutes (NSTFS)...said his legs wouldn't work. Before that flight, I bet he was dead lifting 690lbs and could plank for 69 minutes. Cheers, Cap-10

I was in the Lancers when Tally was the SQ/CC....if she had her way, her change of command would have been a non-issue. Like Rainman said, she's the last person looking for anything just because she's a chick. Cheers, Cap-10
