  1. I've done many HATR/HAP investigations during my time at Bagram...all of the Tower/RAPCON comm is recorded just like stateside. Cheers, Cap-10
  2. SSgt Dickson's wife has given the River Rats / Air Warrior Courage Foundation approval to open a 529 account for their daughter. Once the account is officially open, I will post donation info, hopefully in the next 1-2 days. Cheers, Cap-10
  3. The River Rats / Air Warrior Courage Foundation have been in contact with the SQ/CC, who passed us off the FLO's. Once we get the go ahead from the surviving spouses, 529 college accounts will be set up for the children. I'll post the donation info as soon as its official. Cheers, Cap-10
  4. Inelgible for WIC? I've know 2-3 FAIPS that went to WIC, and they didn't even need the waiver becuase they made IP in their first Ops tour post FAIP tour. I've also known non-FAIPS who needed the waiver and those got approved. Anything is possible... Cheers, Cap-10
  5. taking the bonus does not mean 8 year. You CAN take the bonus and then get out....I know, becuase I did it! Cheers, Cap-10
  6. The River Rats are already working to get in contact with the CAOC/FLO's to establish 529 accounts for any children left behind. I'll post info when/if we get permission from surviving spouses to proceed. Cheers, Cap-10
  7. I think Lear is just giving sound advice! AFI's change....ACP Messages change. Make sure read and understand before you sign! Cheers, Cap-10
  8. 4 X Nickels on the grass. If anyone knows of any any wives and/or children, please let me know...if you have the contact info for the Family Liason Officer, that would be great. River Rats are standing by to take care of those that may be left behind! Cheers, Cap-10
  9. I've worked for Lt Gen Franklin....his letter sounds like the hours we spent deliberating causes/finding/recs when he was the BP on a Class A involving fatalities. Sh!t Hot to him for standing up for what he truley believed was right regardless of what happens to him personally. Cheers, Cap-10
  10. 2 Same. Cheers, Cap-10
  11. 2nd what hindsight said. MPA (the days that active duty gives to the Reserves and pays for) is what is normally used for troughing and in the current fiscal era, those could go away at any time. We currently have 2-3 local TR that are troughing for the rest of the FY. We also have a local TR (that has an airline job) and he flies 8-10 days a month at UPT by using some AT days on top of his normal FTPs and UTAs. Cheers, Cap-10
  12. . 6 days a month. Cheers. Cap-10
  13. Met a Honet guy at Oceana and his call sign was "Chin Nuts". Same trip, they were trying to decide what to name the noob....he was a black Jew...top two were Hebro and Dr. Dreidel...not sure which one they chose but I thought they were both hilarious! As for fake call signs, Neil Eubich was always my favorite. Cheers, Cap-10
  14. I passed the books around the squadron...big hit...everyone enjoyed reading it. Great job Steve!!! Cheers, Cap-10
  15. PM Sent Cheers, Cap-10
  16. . Not a T-1 guy, but we currently have 3 guys that are troughing full time on MPA days...who know how long that will continue if the sequesture happens. Cheers, Cap-10
  17. We have a person in my squadron right now....paperwork was done 3 months ago...was supposed to PC starting 1 Feb, but didn't get scrolled in time. Another way to check on PC status is thru CMS....find someone in your squadron that has CMS admin rights (Exec, SAC) and they can see where it's at, to include the person's name, phone number, e-mail, etc. Cheers, Cap-10
  18. I think the other bases are the same, but at my base, in just my MWS, we currently have 8 TR positions and 1 AGR position that are open. We also have 2 more AGR positions that will open end of this year (Oct-Nov) timeframe. 19. Scrolling is when the SECAF (I believe) signs the letter (scroll) that allows the Reserve unit to officially gain you. The way I understood it, no scroll, then you haven't been gained...no gain, no separation. Cheers, Cap-10
  20. I Palace Chased last year and was told 6-8 weeks....mine took 12. As for TMO, I was told I could move anywhere I wanted to, as long as the distance was equal/less than the distance from my last base to my HOR...any distance greater would be paid out of pocket. The biggest problem I've see that screws with people is not getting scrolled prior to their separation date arriving. Cheers, Cap-10
  21. My wife's top-3: - Flight Suit/Hamper - Hurrevac - Velcro while sleeping Cheers, Cap-10
  22. Closed today with Aspen Hill from NBOKC...30 year VA Loan at 3.25%....NBOKC covered the funding me and a bunch of other odds and end fees...I only paid $869 out of pocket. Customer support was outstanding!!! Paperwork was done right and on time. My realtor has dealt with banks from BOA and USAA to the local credit unions and both she and the title company people said dealing with NBOKC was an absolute pleasure....in fact, my realtor said she was actually going to start referring her new clients to NBOKC. Cheers, Cap-10
  23. Related to the post 9-11 GI bill: If anyone is thinking about passing the benifits to your wife/kiddo's but also thinking about transferring to the Reserves, I would recommend waiting to pass the 9-11 benefits...you can do it once you are in the Reserves...I just did! Cheers, Cap-10
  24. Bump. Cheers, Cap-10
  25. Not sure right now, but I bet that could be discussed in the future after everything settles down a little. I can assure everyone that the River Rats have Cassy's full approval to run the 529 account for Serene. Thanks to all for helping to re-post the donation info and for all those that donated! Cheers, Cap-10
