  1. I think the case could be made for guys that initially went over to fight for the FSA or other rebel group against Asad, and then got stuck when their groups either folded or surrendered to ISIS or it's allies. They would have to be vetted to make sure they didn't join the animals. However, ISIS quickly made their intentions and MO known, so anyone that went to join the "caliphate" is guilty by association and willingness to join the filth. Deny them re-entry and force them back to the hell hole they helped create at least we can effectively deal with them there (I.e. warheads on foreheads).
  2. Also at the border and TSA gate agents are two things you voluntarily have to go through (by willingly buying a ticket) and I think everyone here agrees countries have the right to regulate their borders. These checkpoints are inside the country and in my opinion are pretty much the same as a cop stopping you on the street or pulling you over and asking you to prove your citizenship
  3. Apparently the JAG thought they had enough of a case to take it to court, I'm just saying even after reading the story that was pro-victim, I'm not convinced the guy was guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. However, I don't trust the current legal system in the military, in my view the well has been poisoned in relation to any sexual assault case, from the pressure for the JAG to prosecute, to the convening authority to punish, and the effect that is has on those that sit on the jury.
  4. If there is no evidence, I really don't see how the prosecution could prove beyond a reasonable doubt that this happened nor how a jury could convict. Even in the light that the article portrayed the story I remain unconvinced.
  5. Going rate is 10% for every hour of flight but a minimum of 50%. The C17 has power outlets to charge the iPads on. Yes you can Q3 for not having the iPad configured and charged. Tthere's actually a preflight and postflight checklist to properly configure your EFB for flight.
  6. C17 aircrew get issued their own iPad by the unit to keep till the PCS.
  7. I stand corrected on the promotion rate, thought it was lower than that.
  8. When you say cut are you talking Involuntarily separated only? or are you talking about all the FM programs only let out the bottom of the eligibles. Becuase if the latter is the case, I know 4 captains who pinned major right before or after they submitted their VSP, so you can't tell me that the bottom 10% were let out when theses guys had to be at worst case in the 30-40 percentile if memory serves correctly on the promotion rate.
  9. Most attempted too, some were successful, the rest last I heard were still rushing units along with the rest of the masses that stampeded for the door. Ironically several crossed over to other airframes (mainly tankers), so sure they take their airmanship skills with them but as for passing down theirs years of MWS specifc airlift/airdrop experience well not so much. Most guys were beyond happy (hear that Chang, you're top 10% were looking for a way out) to take large paycheck and head for the a-word, RES/ANG or anything that wasn't the active duty. Several were even brand new majors. Chang keep believing your programs worked, and as a whole yes they cut the numbers down to what was required by Congress. However, it did not, cut the specific people you were hoping to cut, you got some of them but lost way more of your top preformers (see Azimuths comment about the FTU). We'll not even rehack the abortion that was the process itself. But keep up your "good work", the one bright spot is that if I ever become too incompetent to command an aircrew and jet, I'll still be able to get a job at AFPC, and even be told I'm doing a good job no matter how much I underperform.
  10. Yeah, your whole "got rid of the bottom 10%" wasn't the case at McChord. We lost about 20 guys, of those I would say 1-2 might have fallen in that category and that's stretching it. The rest were 2nd and 3rd assignment ops to ops IP/EPs, former FTU IPs and lead airdrop pilots, more like the top 10% of the community.
  11. McChord is in the proccess of swapping out our iPads for iPad Airs. No idea on where the money or how they are doing it.
  12. I think its sad when the comm guy (no offense 17_D) gets an airline joke before a pilot does. ETA: Misinterpretation of SocialD's comment.
  13. And suddenly the new E-3/E-8/RC-135 moves from the bottom of every UPT dream sheet to #1
  14. Or we could steal the Navy P-8, which is already tested and approved for a similar role.
  15. Well the Isrealis already use the G550 and the Brits use the Bombadier Global Express so I don't see that being outside the realm of capability.
  16. 11 photos showing King Abdullah II of Jordan being a total badass
  17. No I really don't think they do, too busy with idiotic stuff like "Deflategate", Super Bowl, Anti-Vax hysteria, what Kim Kardashain is wearing today etc.
  18. Considering he went down right outside Raqqa from the reports, I doubt there was little that was attempted or could even be considered doing.
  19. FIFY
  20. I think the point had to do with the actual airframes not the MWS. Yes the platforms all still work great but we aren't making any new ones to replace the old ones, eventually something you can't fix breaks.

    Just accessed mine no issues.
  22. Funny this thing about flyers wearing the bag but I've never heard "I wish that TACP/PJ/CRO/SERE/Security Forces guy wouldn't wear his beret, it makes me feel like he doesn't represent me". Why is the bag the only distinct uniform non-flyers seem to get butt hurt about? If you need a fellow Air Force officer to wear a set of ABUs to make you feel like he represents you then I'm truly sorry your view of your fellow airman have come down to their clothes.
  23. It was only a matter of time, but it looks like McCain is involved in calling for an investigation. https://www.airforcetimes.com/story/military/capitol-hill/2015/01/22/james-post-a10-comment-investigation/22155219/
  24. So he tried to do SF and Airfield Management's job, when did he have time to do his actual job?
