  1. And the hits just keep on coming (sts): https://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/03/04/she-says-she-was-raped-working-undercover-as-an-air-force-informant.html A pretty one-sided story with not much hard evidence, however, it is still more bad press.
  2. Well it's not over yet: "Morris County Court Judge Peter Bogaard also ruled that Rachel’s parents must keep her on their health insurance policy and keep status quo on all college savings accounts set up for her." "Another hearing to decide whether to require her parents to pay for Canning's college tuition is tentatively scheduled for April 22."
  3. Lawnman summed it up pretty well. Our foreign policy standing is in shambles, perception is everything and there used be a day where we could call KIO and people would listen, however, the current administrations continual blunders and apology tour has compromised any ability for us to be taken seriously. If you have the clout you don't have to take action, only threatening action can be enough. However, this administration's lack of street cred has lead to them standing there with egg on their face (Syria and the Red Line anyone?). Furthermore this whining by Kerry shows that they really have no clue how things work on a international level in the real world, not the liberal utopia world they wish for. Putin isn't using 19th century tactics in the 21st century becuase he's not up on the times, he's doing it because its the most direct route to his goal and he doesn't fear the U.S. Also invading can be be a position of weakness or insanity but when you neither respect or fear your rival it is a position of power. Lets face it this administration is/will continue getting outplayed by Putin at every turn, and the U.S. will continue to look like a fool. Its sad we used to have the "Speak softly and carry a big stick" as our foreign policy and now we have "Threaten loudly and do nothing". Obama has shown his cards by making his bluffs and the world has called them, he is now the player at the table with zero credibility.
  4. Sorry Sec. Kerry, this is an act of a person who doesn't take you seriously and knows you are the little yappy neighborhood dog. I have no interest in getting tangle in Ukraine, but it is truely sad how far our foreign policy impact has fallen. Also Putin is using the vast majority of Russians that live in Crimea and are loyal to Russia as a reason to bring Crimea into the fold. We've been down this road before with Hitler in the late 1930s with the annexation of Austria and the Sudetenland.

Looks awesome, that remix of Louis Armstrong's "Wonderful World" was definetely an interesting and disturbing choice.
  6. Something tells me these she didn't care that other people saw it nor did they think anything was wrong with it. This is just a plain and simple lack of fundamental respect. Also the nice thing about the social media today is the way people use it as a live stream of the life and thoughts, makes it hard to defend this stuff as a one time things. I wasn't too mad about the class picture, poor taste yes but her comment about "someone getting a jacked up flag" made me want to throat punch her. Having carried flag draped coffins of fallen soldiers home, and personally watched as familes of fallen friends are presented with those flags, to me that is one of the most sacred things in all of the military.
  7. Holy shit dude, are you capable of writing out a coherent and logical thought?
  8. Vance had that policy as well when I was there, knew guys that would fly to NYC for a weekend.

    Gun Talk

I think he quickly figured out why the school was in lock down and was hoping he could slip by. I bet the call was made by some pissed off gun-owner, considering how much of an ass-pain the new law is for them.

    Gun Talk

https://www.buffalonews.com/city-region/buffalo-public-schools/associates-defend-man-who-had-gun-in-school-20140207 A-hole that advocated for the NY SAFE Act caught with firearm (that he had a permit to carry...go figure) in a school now doesn't want to be prosecuted under the SAFE Act provisions. Sad because the guy actually seems like a good dude (aside from his contradictory veiws on guns) that actively tries to help his community is now facing 2 felony charges. Quote from the article that proves these people are insane:
  11. Wondering how/why she is so intimately familiar with the specifics of FDU, sounds like some who washed out of UPT. But then again it wouldnt surprise me knowing the shoe mentality.
  12. Yeah bunch of people I know went there regularly, it was pretty well known the guys views, even kicked out foreign students that came out with their US classmates. Went there once and wasn't overly impressed with the place either the steaks were burnt and dry, pretty much the epitomy of a smoky dive bar.
  13. Very cool, thanks for sharing.
  14. Seriously, halfway through I started having flashbacks of reading Nsplyr and Helodude going at it (STS) during the last election.
  15. Its the army, there's not exactly a lot to work with there.

  17. Yeah I got that, I was responding to him say: "tanker/bomber crews are allowed to test as crews (as are sub officers.) We aren't - all our tests are "individual effort."" Poor quote editing on my part.
  18. This. I would even expand it your DO and enlisted leadership; it never ceases to amaze me that people do this, especially Lts and young Capts, the SQ/CC isn't your friday night drinking buddy.
  19. Our Open and Closed book tests are written tests taken individually, no crew help, however we do have an MQF so you know the exact questions.
  20. Karma, they advocated screwing others and subsequently highlighted themselves and their ridiculous good deal.
  21. Yeah valuing competence of box checking over leadership and character.
  22. Interesting though, a Lt. I know at Laughlin just got reclassed along with all 6 other Lts. up for it as well. And I heard similar news from other UPT bases. Good for the Lts. but really makes you wonder if anyone is steering the ship at AFPC.
  23. This is the command that gave us our previous CSAF.
  24. Was reading this and thought of this: Here are 10 ways to guarantee that your best people will quit: 10. Treat everyone equally. This may sound good, but your employees are not equal. Some are worth more because they produce more results. The key is not to treat them equally, it is to treat them all fairly. 9. Tolerate mediocrity. A-players dont have to or want to play with a bunch of C-players. 8. Have dumb rules. I did not say have no rules, I said dont have dumb rules. Great employees want to have guidelines and direction, but they dont want to have rules that get in the way of doing their jobs or that conflict with the values the company says are important. 7. Dont recognize outstanding performance and contributions. Remember Psychology 101 Behavior you want repeated needs to be rewarded immediately. 6. Dont have any fun at work. Wheres the written rule that says work has to be serious? If you find it, rip it to shreds and stomp on it because the notion that work cannot be fun is actually counterproductive. The workplace should be fun. Find ways to make work and/or the work environment more relaxed and fun and you will have happy employees who look forward to coming to work each day. 5. Dont keep your people informed. Youve got to communicate not only the good, but also the bad and the ugly. If you dont tell them, the rumor mill will. 4. Micromanage. Tell them what you want done and how you want it done. Dont tell them why it needs to be done and why their job is important. Dont ask for their input on how it could be done better. 3. Dont develop an employee retention strategy. Employee retention deserves your attention every day. Make a list of the people you dont want to lose and, next to each name, write down what you are doing or will do to ensure that person stays engaged and on board. 2. Dont do employee retention interviews. Wait until a great employee is walking out the door instead and conduct an exit interview to see what you could have done differently so they would not have gone out looking for another job. 1. Make your onboarding program an exercise in tedium. Employees are most impressionable during the first 60 days on the job. Every bit of information gathered during this time will either reinforce your new hires buying decision (to take the job) or lead to Hires Remorse. The biggest cause of Hires Remorse is the dreaded Employee Orientation/Training Program. Most are poorly organized, inefficient, and boring. How can you expect excellence from your new hires if your orientation program is a sloppy amalgamation of tedious paperwork, boring policies and procedures, and hours of regulations and red tape? To reinforce their buying decision, get key management involved on the first day and make sure your orientation delivers and reinforces these three messages repeatedly: A. You were carefully chosen and were glad youre here; B. Youre now part of a great organization; C. This is why your job is so important. https://www.tlnt.com/2013/04/08/hiring-wisdom-top-10-ways-to-guarantee-your-best-people-will-quit/
