  1. I would theorize his bronze star was from his command of the expeditionary group and that photo predates it.
  2. Fat fingered that was supposed to be a down vote. Yeah you're right he's a criminal for exposing criminal conduct by the government that's responsible for policing itself and only authority capable of enforcing laws. Wrap your brain around that one, just what the hell was he supposed to do? I'm not a fan of his intelligence dumps and the amount of stuff he took, but it was an insurance policy considering instead of fixing the criminal conduct the government fought to keep doing it and made him a marked man. Seems legit.
  3. 100% agree, just saying if he wants to engage don't come spouting the party line as justification when its been shown to be not true. The "he's a politician" excuse has been used for far too long and we see where it has gotten us, that can no longer be an excuse for their conduct.
  4. Well it looks like the Congressman's points just got blown out of the water, someone else posted a study by the DoD that said pretty much the same thing. Hopefully he'll come back and give us a better excuse.
  5. U-2 carrier take off and landings (I don't if its my computer but there is no sound) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L8HMPMYL19E
  6. Man on meth fights off 12 cops while masturbating in bar https://www.oregonlive.com/pacific-northwest-news/index.ssf/2013/12/alleged_masturbating_man_in_sa.html
  7. Beerman, I agree with what you said, and my case wasn't for us to model their program exactly, just that there was a similar program to what was being discussed out there already and it works for the army. I do think for it to work for rated guys it would have to be majors and up due to the training pipeline for rated folks.
  8. If understand correctly the Army already does this, once you make mid-level captain in the combat arms area you can "branch" to a non-combat arms area for the rest of your career.
  9. Appointed I believe is the technical term for commissioned, sounds like you slipped through the cracks. Yeah my buddies and I were on AD within days of commissioning, one guy EAD'd the day after we commissioned, me and the other guys were 2-3 days after. Thankfully we didn't run into any pay issues, just happened to notice it when I was looking a vMPF one day that my DOR had been changed to the USAFA graduation date.
  10. 5. DATE OF RANK OF SECOND LIEUTENANTS OR ENSIGNS APPOINTED IN MAY OR JUNE NOT THROUGH THE SERVICE ACADEMIES. The date of rank of second lieutenants or ensigns appointed in accordance with section 2106 or 2107 of Reference (f) in May or June of any year who enter active duty during either of those months is the date that the class of cadets or midshipmen graduated from one of the Service Academies That's not what the reg says, me and several of my buddies EAD'd within days of commissioning in early may, however because of the reg our DORs were pushed back to the end of May to match the academy Lts' DOR. My buddies that EAD'd in April were able to keep their April DOR.
  11. Depends on if you use Democrat numbers or not.
  12. Except foe those of us that were already on AD for 2-3 weeks by the time they commission. If you EAD May 1st your DOR gets moved back almost a month to match the USAFA DOR.
  13. The "accident" was including disabled retirees in the pension cuts, at least that's what Miculski said. Those that managed to make it out intact well you're just SOL..
  14. Sorry but personally Liquid has brought a lot to this forum IMHO, yeah there were some early growing pains but he provides good insight and valuable info. Also he hasn't, outside a some very specific topics, come across as one that chugs blue koolaid. Liquid I missed your earlier post of about senior leadership not taking public stance, and I thought it was spot on. I've read several early AF leaders biographies and many were very opinionated about not interjecting the military into politics, I believe General Tunner didn't vote till he left the service. Unfortunately it leaves us without a strong voice and reliant on people removed from the organization (Tony Carr, AFA, MOAA), I think it is necessary for out government to function. For better or worse, I would be more concerned if I saw the CSAF or CJSC on TV advocating for or against a bill without solicitation from Congress, that's what happens in countries where the military plays a role in governing (Egypt, South American or African countries).
  15. Yeah, it was never meant to happen but the GOP was also retarded in agreeing to military cuts when the democrats gave up nothing of value. Admit it you are over a barrel since the democrats don't care about sequestration because it doesn't really hurt their sacred cows. I'm really tired of seeing GOP members of Congress on TV crying about the sequester when they made such a shitty deal and the democrats called your bluff. My god, you make $174K a year and you want COLA? I know D.C. is pretty expensive area to live (grew up there) but that is 20-30K above the median income for the counties in that area. If my entire family can do it making way less than you and will be making less since you decided to take money out of my parents retirement, I'm sure you can too. You betrayed your fellow service members when you take their earned income away ahead of the billions of dollars of waste and welfare programs (maybe you should pick up your esteemed colleague Sen. Coburn's book of government waste he just published). I get it cuts need to be made but the promise that is made to veterans should not be the first broken because you and your colleagues (GOP and Dems) can't get your act together.
  16. What a bullshit response, why do we have to ask the dems, why didn't you and your colleagues make the change in the house? And also throw the bullshit flag on the tax increase but hey at least we know where you stand; hopefully that's only the case for another couple months till you get to join the rest of the unemployed.
  17. The better question is who still shops a Kmart?
  18. I think for some reason if you commission before May 1st then you keep you DOR. My entire UPT class was all guys who commissioned and EAD'd late April or early May, and the guys that commissioned in Apr kept theirs and everyone that commissioned in May ended up with the same DOR as the Academy.
  19. There's an asterisk at the top of the charts that says "Year groups are based on TAFCS date"
  20. And we all heard you, however, it seems like too much to ask for you to put out a coherent message and information. Instead now we have 14 pages here on BODN and endless hours of speculation and rumors in the squadron and the bar; not to mention you just slap up a matrix at 1630 on a Friday before Christmas with the most vague details possible and pull chocks till the new year.
  21. I don't know, all I know is there isn't a voluntary way out for all us LTs (not that I am looking for one but some have expressed interest) but we still will face a force shaping board.
  22. Here you go. Enlisted Voluntary Program Eligibility Chart - 20 Dec 13.pdf
  23. There's one for the enlisted side too, rummit from some of the loads is they are looking to cut 1,200 enlisted aircrew members.
