  1. For those of you familiar with Navy/Marine pilot training, this is what I've been told they do with their students score since they don't have set classes that train with set flights, but just an assigned instructor or two. Your scores from each instructor get weighted based on the instructors avg. score, so Lt X who's instructor is a Santa Claus goes up against Lt Y who's instructor is a hardass and never saw an "E" on his write-up get to compete on the same level. *Note: this was three years ago and what I was told by other marine and navy students in my flight.
  2. https://edition.cnn.com/2013/08/31/world/meast/syria-civil-war/index.html?hpt=hp_t1 Saddle up boys we're going to war tomorrow! Well, maybe the next day or next month, or whenever. Attempting to save face has never been so comical.
  3. Also you can't submit the paperwork to have your wife evaluated for the PCS till 6 months before your RNLTD to Ramstein. If you submit it earlier, it will get kicked back and you'll have to start over from the beginning. It sound like you have a stop at LRAFB in between, so take that into consideration. I had a TDY enroute to my current base with a RNLTD that was 6 months beyond my start of my TDY.
  4. A) we'll never have another unconstrsined REO as long as the politicians are the ones advocating for the kinetic action. B) there are no Syrian rebel groups left they were run out of town and disarmed by the islamic militant groups.
  5. So what exactly are we or the international community supposed to do when Asad is gone? The people who will have ousted him are just as bad and are barbarians (reference your video or the dozens coming out of there of them executing children and teens). Who are we going to help form a government in that area or bring any sort of peace? Frankly we missed our opportunity to effect a real change when we drug our feet in supporting the original rebels (the citizens of the country actually revolting) now we let them be co-opted or disbanded by the outside extremists that flooded the country. The only options we have is to pretty much play containment and let whatever happens in Syria stay in Syria or nuke the place and wipe out both parties at once.
  6. Will Smith's face says it all, especially after all the years of having to watch Carlton dance.

A family member has a shield, and I shot it a couple of times, don't really mind it but haven't handled it enough to make a good judgement on it.

  9. You do have health insurance under the AF even while awaiting to EAD and I believe any health expenses incurred by your wife would be reimbursed once you enroll her in DEERS. I'm a little fuzzy on the details, since its been a couple years since I was in your shoes but if that is your biggest concern, you might be freaking out over nothing. ETA: finding someone who can actually give you the information you need, well all I can say is welcome to AF medical.

At least for AFSOC nobody in UPT knows anything about the airframes, there was not a single prior AFSOC guy at UPT to answer questions. The best we ever got was "uh they are gone a lot and do spooky stuff". For instance the U-28, the prior Nav in my class knew more about it than anyone because he has friends in it. AFSOC is a black hole when it comes to info flowing back to the UPT studs. When I went to SERE, I had a U-28 guy in my group and the instructor had never even heard of the airplane, and couldn't find any helpful info for the guy.
  11. I doubt there's much time for him to avoid by (if) the time he sees a B-1
  12. Sorry I was just quoting the news article, I didn't know there was a delineation between scooters and mopeds. "Sgt. Mark Brooks, a city police spokesman, said an officer initially stopped the man about 10:15 p.m. for driving the wrong way on Winter Street, near Eckart Street. He spoke with the officer but refused to turn off the moped and rode away, Brooks said. A chase ensued with the moped driver, later identified as Lagrant Smith, reaching top speeds of 25 mph and taking numerous turns on a route that covered much of the southeast grid." Still pretty funny to watch the guy weave around like he is Jason Bourne.
  13. 10 police cars chase moped, with max speed of 25 MPH. https://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/08/25/10-police-cars-chase-moped-going-25-mph/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mvc2O-wpS4U

  15. Unfortunately most dets become as useful as finance to recent grads. The NCOs who really control all the paperwork and know the system, usually refuse to/say they can't help. This isn't aircrew, it's shoe clerks. You can trade with other LTs, if you can find someone who has an important event (wedding, ect.) then you two can switch however that window is probably pasted since I only ever saw it tried for guys who were getting married the summer after they graduated and got orders to leave before their wedding.
  16. Only in today's fucked up world, could wanting to uphold your countries foundational document and principles get you labeled as an extremist: https://www.judicialwatch.org/press-room/press-releases/judicial-watch-defense-department-teaching-documents-suggest-mainstream-conservative-views-extremist/ The thought police cometh (sts) on more than one issue.
  17. He got picked up as a reservist with who? The dude was pretty cool. If its the skinny guy with glasses, I agree with brewskis, he turned one of our aero phys classes into a 30 minute sales pitch for caffeine pills and how he uses them every day.
  18. Is it the short gray haired capt.? And I thought this was a standardized test? Well considering the handful of reservist Lt. Cols that I saw walking to the jets, that look like they ate a small child before the brief, I would say probably not.
  19. I forget who it was but sometime during the beginning of the wars, there was discussion about martyrs and their perception in the Muslim world, but said something to the effect of "I want them to have so many martyrs they can't keep track of them" Off this dude and move on, the Muslim world will forget him in a week between Syria, Egypt, Afghanistan, and the Palestinians they'll probably have another martyr by the end of the day.
  20. He's going to burn in hell, now or in 40 years when he kicks the bucket, one option doesn't mean my tax money going to pay for this POS housing, food AND medical treatment.
  21. https://bigstory.ap.org/article/jury-fort-hood-rampage-resume-deliberations Hasan guilty on all counts (13 premeditated murder, 32 attempted premeditated murder).
  22. Careful now, too much common sense will give the puzzle palace guys an aneurism.
  23. We got some email about the webmail saying people's PINs were incorrect even when they were entered correctly, and subsequently getting locked out.
  24. There were also a couple MX, a Security forces, and a CE officer in that group, none with the AFESR or the GWOT-E.
