This right here, the answer is maybe 1-2 times a month (and that's for locals), talk about actual missions probably 0, maybe 1. There are IPs and WOs that I have never seen on the board for a mission since I have been at my squadron, and these are the dudes I would jump at a chance to fly with because of their knowledge and experience. One of the wives in my squadron told my wife to wash them once with a little vinegar. Didn't notice a real difference until I washed them again (w/o vinegar), and now they are significantly, less stiff and don't feel as thick. As for the zippers, I still have the same problems with the new ones I got.

Yep my instructor at Altus (form KC-135 guy) told me about it. His basic explanation was in the SAC days copilots were nothing but gear jerkers and so when the came up for AC upgrade they had lost a lot of flying skills. So they gave each wing a couple of Tweets for the copilots to take out and fly, and from his stories they flew the paint off those jets. Great idea but would probably last 6.9 days till someone put on an impromptu airshow.

In a risk adverse culture it's hard because no one knows what is ok and what is isn't especially the new guys or the guys that have grown up in this system and are now instructors. Nobody has a baseline to measure it off of.
