  1. Cleeding bunt = bleeding cunt.... And on that note fuck you ArtofWar for calling out men (yes men from which you are obviously far from being) that have put their lives on the line, missed birthdays, anniversarys, births, weddings and every other event you can think of to protect your sorry ass. I've been in the military for a little over 2 years and come from a very large but very close family and I've missed 3 family weddings of which I was the only member not to make it, I have little cousins that I have never met, I will miss my wife's birthday this year cause I'm stuck in asscrackastan. Don't feel sorry for me, it sucks but it's what I signed up, I knew it coming in; you asked the questions and guys have given you the real version of life, no one on here is bullshitting you. However, you have neither the mindset or the focus and most of all the respect for those dudes that have gone before you to become a pilot in the AF, so please go find another job asshole.
  2. As a young guy, I will say I can definitely see this as far as not being assertive or just canceling the mission. I will say though I think it's an effect of thought processes espoused by leadership and instructors such as "safety first, mission always" ; "be safe, be conservative"; or "good job that was the conservative decision". Everything I have seen is based on being safe and being conservative in a profession that is inherently dangerous at times and requires risks, obviously there is risk mitigation, and I'm not saying ignore the rules and fly like a bat out of hell. To me it doesn't give me the impression that if I do take a risk and something happens that my leadership (not my immediate leadership at this particular time) all the way up the chain will back me. Sure I may be looking at a Q3, but when you have things like the McChord Airdrop Court Martial or any other mishap and the conversation basically accepts Q3s as a given and goes straight to FEBs and whether guys will keep their wings and job, I think I see those situations sitting in the back of most of my newer ACs minds when they consider "is this worth it".
  3. "It" was still a "he" while in the SEALs, therefore whatever happensmafterwards doesn't make you the first female SEAL, just makes you a former SEAL with some serious problems.

    Tornado in OKC

Nope, you would think after decades of being there some WG/CC would have done that. The newer houses (permanent party) have "interior rooms" which if you look at the pictures coming out of OK the last couple weeks is a joke. The older house are single story duplexes with no area that can be used for shelter. Like Brewskis said when there is a forecasted event like this past weekend they open the OG building which a is a small castle. However, if a tornado drops out of the blue or its a weekend you're most likely SOL, spent a few sleepless nights when I was there watching tornadoes track towards the town. Luckily (from what I have been told by the locals) Enid is surrounded by some geographic features that usually split storms/tornadoes around the town, and in my year and a half there definitely saw it happen more than a couple times. Also there have only been 3 tornadoes to hit the town in the last 50 years, so I guess statistically speaking the probability is low and not worth it.

Yet everyone living on base is SOL.
  8. Or just a shoe clerk or E-9 jealous he doesn't get to wear flightsuits so no one can wear flight suits.
  9. General wear and tear? Wear them less the longer they last and by switching to ABUs which we have to buy it saves money? That's the only thing I could think of that would drive this line of reasoning.
  10. That's what Betty does, in the HUD you get speed and roll bars based on everything you mentioned, that show you where the stall regions are and as for pitch if you attempt to pitch to put the plane into a stall she'll only let you get so far and then kick to "AOA limiter System" mode which will override your pitch up command and gradually lower the nose to regain airspeed.

    TCAS

Probably because of this I probably would have gone around too, then continue to descend with the helicopter not doing what it was told and I don't know why (regardless of the reason I.e. bird avoidance)
  12. This is what we did in T-1s and in my limited experience in the 17. I too thought this was common knowledge at least that's the way it was conveyed to me.
  13. Them just cutting you loose I would think is a little bit different than you "failing to uphold your end of the deal" by SIE or fail out of the UPT pipeline. But then again we are talking about common sense and big blue.
  14. I think it took about 6-8 weeks for me to get the official word, I would probably give it another week or two.
  15. And what happens when George shits a brick and you have to hand fly an approach to min, engine out with a kickin crosswind? because we all know George never does it when it's severe clear. You need the building blocks of stick and rudder skills, reliance on George from the get go and beyond leads to bad things when George doesn't want to be your friend. ETA: we don't land with auto throttles

    Gun Talk

Couple recs for the handgun, think about features that you want with the gun...external safety (i.e. manual switch, like the M9), safety trigger, built in mount for flashlight or laser pointer, indication that the weapon is cocked, or indication there is a round in the chamber? Comfort is definitely the number one factor but if you are between two guns think about what else you want the weapon to have. For me since I carry my weapon (Ruger SR40C) almost every minute I'm not in uniform, all the things I mentioned above my weapon has but the main thing the pushed me to this one was the external safety and the orange flag that pops up when there is a round in the chamber. As for the shotguns anyone else with experience, advice would also be appreciated, I'm in the same boat.
  17. I've been at my squadron (C-17) only a couple months and seen two IPs and one AC (volunteered) sent to UAVs. And it looks like more are to follow, what the hell is this RPA pipeline they opened up doing, is what I want to know.
  18. The more time they spend killing each other, the fewer of them there are and the less we have to worry about them attacking us. Seems like a win-win IMHO.
  19. Yeah a friend that's a comm officer complained to me the other day that their leadership went to a conference and some of the SQ, GP & WG/CCs from other bases had iPhone 5s and came back and demanded the comm squadron replace their Blackberries with iPhones.
  20. The last two clips were hilarious...however I swear the only words these jokers know is "Allah Akbar"
  21. Wow great video, especially for someone like me as a new copilot.
  22. she became a FAIP before they started sending them to SERE
  23. Did realize the AF Crimes link didn't have a picture. Original Local Article: https://enidnews.com/localnews/x6224159/First-assignment-instructor-pilots-see-jobs-as-an-honor In regards to what?
  24. I only flew with her a handful of times but she was a good pilot and instructor. Also I wasn't aware going on a XC a weekend a month to nice places and partying it up was so bad and was considered being gone a lot.
