  1. FMS/mil tech transfer has conditions and oversight by the US government. It’s not new to Ukraine
  2. For reference here is what the page looked like right before the election. https://web.archive.org/web/20241007193219/https://www.af.mil/Diversity/
  3. It will be tested above 1.0 but the USAF didn’t pay for it to be certified so the placard limit will be below it. it was a desired not required part of the contract. If we pay Boeing they will magic wand make it supersonic.
  4. I mean I appreciate Clark’s engagement; however, his MO is these kind of proposals.
  5. The whole everyone flying T-7s is a long way out. T-1 IPs will not fly T-7s because it makes absolutely no sense and no one will be in a T-1 billet by the time it’s opened to non-T-38 trained pilots. Not to mention it’s a type 1 high G aircraft so it needs a full up fuge profile and people are going to be going night night. Other than AFOTEC folks: the 19 AF IOT&E initial cadre are all fighter bubbas because that’s what’s needed. Edit 2: And yes there will eventually be some T-1 trained pilots in the 99th and other places. But that will be rarity. It will be for shiny pennies or test cases
  6. It’s called IPT and is part of FUPT which is the AETC/a5/8s brain child. It’s the whole plan of t-7s for everyone col or general leard
  7. There’s a huge bill to recapitalize the T-6. its not going to happen.
  8. Clark, I’ve always wondered, what is your background and were you a pilot?
  9. Post T-6, UPTs are recored to 11T1x with the x being t-1, t-7, t-38, th-1
  10. The T-38 like it did for decades
  11. Holloman is a train wreck for manpower and maintenance, who would have thought.
  12. no, ipt is different than ift. ipt is full faa checkrides. ya this is years out.
  13. I think it’s more a save face. Everything is about appearance and big blue loses face with a fired COMAFSOC by COMSOCOM.
  14. The T-7 is easier to fly than the T-38, but it is still is a fast mover. FWIW, I think IPT to T-7 a dumb idea. AETCs risks were all about losses to production but never anything about students morting themselves. There are also a lot of MAF dudes (no offense to them) making these decisions that have never flown fast jets in their life. And hindsight, for those of us who know you, your writing style doxx’d you years ago. hah
  15. not if there is a second buy that boeing makes all its money back with
  16. basically all of that is rolled into future upt that will be at multiple locations controlled by a contractor. Who knows what specific performance/desired effects the contractor will need to provide. But it won’t be at some random ERAU esque operation. It will be mil only.
  17. Yes, that is the bobs at HQ AETC going in game plan.
  18. T-7 sims.
  19. it’s called Future UPT. There will be multi engine too. T-6A recapitalization for the Avionics Replacement Program is dead. They will eventually go to the boneyard. Everyone will fly T-7s as the T-6s go away after contractor Initial Pilot Training (IPT).
  20. I think it was a middle ground between both.
  21. Seriously though, someone should search sharepoint or whatever it is and find the GUPT (reference T-X) decision brief from circa 2014-2015 where MAF leadership talked about wanting more officership BS from pilot training and the CAF said they wanted more stick time and less sims. If MAF leadership wasnt a bunch of shoe clerks then we wouldnt have had this issue. Edit: The specific slide was a quad chart with inputs from ACC, AFGSC, AMC, and AFSOC
  22. On another note is Fat Tony/Cat 5 still going to the Zoo?
  23. And 73 sims cost millions. There aren’t a bunch of free sim time.
  24. There isn’t an T-7 delays with upt because it’s not even ioc
