Where’d they all go? Haven’t heard from them in a while. I would’ve went into hiding had I voted for this admin too, but it doesn’t seem like their style.

How does a free patch and a 25% off coupon at the Commissary sound? Or Thanks for the offer coach, but I got coach Saban on the other line. Gonna have to call you back.

$5.00 free credit at the snacko.

Not sure I understand your question here.
-
Super subjective question and your answers are going to vary greatly depending on a multitude of different factors, such as: airframe, state, rank, guard or reserve, deployment or stateside, income requirements, just to name a few. That’s why you didn’t get any responses. Every unit is going to be different. One place may have no copilots bumming because they all went to the regionals and another unit may have 20 full time bums. So to answer your question, like everything in the guard…it just depends.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune at UPT, and correct me if I’m wrong, but can’t you just walk away at this point-no commitments? I’m sure you are plenty disappointed and feel you’d still like to serve somewhere. However, there is no greater dead end street than a C-130H Nav. It’s like being a VHS tape player salesman or something. The H’s are going away as fast as Lockheed can spit out J’s and all the Navs are trying to get their civilian ratings and get to an airline. If I were in your shoes, and Uncle Sam was cutting me loose, I’d go get civilian flight training and race your buds from UPT right to the same job at Delta, or whatever. Best of luck.

I was expecting to the see the Easter bunny jump in front of POTUS again when he said that. Lest we forget… https://www.newsweek.com/video-easter-bunny-interrupting-joe-biden-viewed-5-million-times-1698817

What are my chances? Legacy airline to ANG
O Face replied to FliesForLunch's topic in What Are My Chances?
Go find a heavy unit. You don’t need the AFOQT since you’re already a commissioned officer and you don’t need to go to UPT since you’re already an Army pilot with over 1500 (or whatever the reg is these days) hrs in multi engine airplanes. Straight to the school house. -
I am in favor of providing support to women who carry their babies to full term. Actually, a lot of people are and operate crisis pregnancy centers around the country, completely without taxpayer support!! However, lately they’ve been the recipients of a great deal of arson, vandalism, and other cowardly forms of attack from the champions of “choice.” And since I’m using quotes, I’d also like to give a big shout out to the Supreme Court for their recent ruling that has, at least for the past few days, granted the American Left the freedom to use the word “woman” again! Because “menstruating person” was extremely “offensive” to “persons” who do other stuff besides walking around bleeding everywhere all the time.

Not to quibble, but after watching Russia’s absolute buffoonery on the battlefield daily, I sometimes wonder how “mutual” the nuclear destruction would be…not that I’m advocating finding out, but curious.
-
I agree, but neither is a bunch of civilian CFI’s.
-
That seems like a pretty good idea to me. Send new pilots to PIT and let them work as a GS FAIP and a traditional guardsman in their ANG/Res unit.
-
Add another in the “same here” category. CFI’d for 5 years during the lost decade. Probably would’ve jumped at this gig for free. I know times are different now with airlines hiring anyone who has looked at an airplane before, but I’m betting they’ll get plenty of applicants. If nothing else those who get hired will at least get to wear a real flight suit to watch Top Gun 2 instead of their Skywest uniforms - somebody showed me an instagram of that actually happening. Still need to clean my vomit off my shoes.

Just remember to say “over” when you’re done having phone patch sex. It’s the polite thing to do.

HA HA! Nice try SARC or OSI or both!! I make one stupid joke about titties and you’re gonna hunt me down and have me confess on a public forum? In the immortal words of Jeff Portnoy-“boundaries man…fvck!” -

If, however, you have photo evidence of yourself signing 368-DD’s, you may get hired on the spot! This pun game is getting fun!! -
Navy Helo Pilot to ANG / AFRC Fighters?
O Face replied to Cableangle's topic in Air National Guard / Air Force Reserves
@CableangleYeah, like I said, every unit is different. Each wing is going to have a process that is somewhat unique. For example, my squadron does not have rated guys compete with UPT hopefuls. Rated pilots will be invited in to meet the gang and interview whenever it works, while a UPT board is convened only once per year. If I were in your boat, (pun intended) I would start reaching out to the squadrons you’re interested in. Call Ops and try to speak to the Squadron Commander or DO. For an Active Duty bro rushing a guard unit, it’s often a much friendlier process than a non-rated or non-prior guy. Hell, doesn’t the Navy let you guys fly your aircraft around on the weekends? If you’re close by, see if you can’t fly your helo up to your prospective unit on a drill weekend and bullshit with everybody. We have a Navy Hornet guy who did just that, flew in on drill weekend, let us climb around on the plane, drank with us at the bar, and we hired him shortly after - I think it was nearly 2 years prior to the USN cutting him loose, we held a spot for him. I can’t stress enough that a guard unit is way more interested in someone who is a good fit more than we’re interested in a signed DD-368. -

Guard guy here, and if it helps, your biggest concerns shouldn’t be your biggest concerns. You have wings on your chest, thus age is no longer an issue per se (federal time in service becomes an issue, as well as your competition being a 22 year old) the age requirement is to attend UPT however, so you’re fine. To answer your other question about UPT, you don’t go back to pilot training and start all over because you went Navy helos. Assuming you got picked by a fighter unit, you’re going to have to go do T-38, IFF, and so on, but nobody is going to throw away your gold wings. To answer your two questions: 1. You can apply as early as you’d like. I’d recommend starting right away. Assuming you get selected by an ANG unit, they can’t get you school dates until you’ve become a unit member anyway, so you might as well start getting out to the units you’d like to work for and start meeting people. 2. Each unit is different on how they select pilots. Some have different boards for rated vs UPT candidates, others don’t. I will say however, you are facing an uphill battle and your best bet is to get to know the pilots you hope to fly with. You’ll have better luck at heavy units where you won’t need to attend any T-38 training and can go straight to your airframe’s schoolhouse. Best of luck. -
Have you ever stopped sniffing these “academics” seat cushions long enough to consider the fact that the only reason Russia is a nuclear threat today is because some treasonous academic war-winners sold our nuclear secrets to Russia in the first place? Let me guess…I’m only viewing through my ‘Merica lens, and If I put down my chicken nuggets and macaroni I would become enlightened enough to understand that Rosenberg, Fuchs, and Hall were actually really cool bros.

I hope you carry this same self-righteous indignation into the election season and vote out those “callous and uncaring” bastards who can’t even wear a mask because they care about themselves more than others. Here’s just a few photographed recently: Biden, Newsom, Pelosi, Lightfoot, and Whitmer to name a few.

Great back and forth discussion here with some excellent historical perspective. This current administration may not throw in the towel, but I will be very surprised if there isn’t a blood letting militarily. Nearly all of the examples given above had senior leaders get the axe or fall on their sword. I wonder how long until we see something similar?
