  1. Funniest thing I've seen on baseops in a long time.
  2. I didn't get that impression.
  3. Hell yeah! Welcome home.
  4. Giving DFCs for flying through thunderstorms and flaming out all four engines? I don't 100% agree with the punishment, but rewarding these guys? That's retarded.
  5. Political grandstanding at its best. Another reason why congress is at its lowest approval rating of all time.
  6. I laughed at that number... when I was 16.
  7. Do an Intelink search for CST and how effective they are for CT in OEF.
  8. Just stop. No one is feeling sorry for you.
  9. Sounds like you were just too cool for your own good.
  10. We did it. The disgruntled homer quota for this thread has been met.
  11. Wrong. Young guys, pay no attention to this.
  12. Not everyone flies 5.0s and is not in-flight refuelable, like you. Agreed, iPad mini is probably abetter alternative.
  13. I can--the details for some of these stories seem suspect.
  14. You and CAS wheel obviously didn't read what I said about a reason for doing something. Clipping a finger light to your zipper to help find your member is fair.
  15. Maybe grooming was too specific. I was talking about overall appearance. I'm betting I'm not the only one who forgot to tuck in my shirt before leaving my hooch.
  16. I agree that some random NCO rudely calling out an FGO about a rule violation is a culture problem. Like someone else said, the FGO and every other officer should have no problem admitting the accidental "infraction" but should then put the NCO in his place for how to respectfully handle said situation. And if said NCO is caught screwing up his primary job, then someone needs to talk to him about how he can spend more time worried about his job than other people's appearance. I'm curious though, does anyone here advocate intentionally breaking a grooming/sunglass/whatever standard if there's no reason for it?
  17. Is being a herk co-pilot really that hard? I've had plenty of debriefs with student co-pilots (who did well on the sortie) turn into BS sessions. I don't think I've ever brought up a Master's degree but I'm certainly not going to turn the dude into a SCAR-C or a Lockheed engineer.
  18. The truth is always somewhere in the middle.
  19. Old Town, Alexandria. Great mix of quiet, fun and culture.
  20. How long were the Viper guys usually assigned to Cannon?
  21. Because they're 10x more functional than pajamas, for non-fighter types. We'll keep you in mind for the next desert fashion show contest.
  22. Interesting you say that, considering the author's opinions are in direct contradiction of the latest NSS and QDR.
  23. What better place to purport a DT, DCA, and OCA agenda than on The Small Wars Journal.
  24. That's all very nice. Where does it say not to tell your troops to accept the reality of life and move on?
  25. Where do you get this leadership gem from? Sun Tzu? Clausewitz? Do you even know what base Splash is talking about?
