  1. 15 to make 5, I guess.
  2. Not only is Clovis a complete shithole, it also provides very little in the way of training and pragmatism for AC-130H's. I'm not going into any specifics but I challenge anyone to give me a good reason, besides politics, AC-130H's are going to Cannon. And don't say "mirror AFSOC wing" because we won't be able to support worldwide committments for part of the year due to density altitude. Also, what's the difference between Clovis Gunships and Minot, Del Rio, Altus, et al? All the other bases have an OUT, a way for guys to PCS to another base. There are no plans for a U/H crossflow and therefore, dudes are stuck in Cannon their whole Gunship career. So HercDude, Techsan and all the others who think we are "whiners" and "spoiled", those are your reasons for the uproar. Take all the time you need to take your self-righteous feet out of your mouths.
  3. As a guy that worked casual at ADC, the Chewbacca defense is hard to ignore. The SrA will probably be promoted to SMSgt later this quarter.
  4. I know it's not necessarily thread related but I'm looking forward to the B-1s having the targeting pod--it's going to help... big time.
  5. Shades of Payne Stewart's LJ crash--always pre-flight oxygen.
  6. Talon I dudes talking to the chick working Crowbar; a British controlling agency in south afghanistan... Talon I: "Crowbar, Talon 69, request." Crowbar: "Go ahead with request." Talon I: "Please state your weight in stones and hair color." Crowbar: "I'm everything you can imagine"
  7. So much for fooling around with stewardesses.
  8. Speaking of PC-12s, looks like the NTSB released the "Probable Cause" of Jason Barton's fatal crash a while back. Pretty sad stuff. https://www.ntsb.gov/ntsb/brief.asp?ev_id=2...00882&key=1
  9. All the above is correct. I was in a similar situation, sharing a place with a buddy of mine. I got my OTS orders and the Leasing Office didn't want to let me break the lease. As already stated, the SSRA covers leases that don't have the military clause. I had to get the Moody JA office involved it got so bad. They didn't have to help me out and I think they're not allowed to anyways but I was being threatened with lawsuits and crap. The unfortunate part is that he was then responsible for ALL of the rent. Good luck.
  10. It was pointed out to me by some brits visiting HRT a few weeks back that we're lucky to have this kind of support. Apparently, in Britain, random "Thank You"s and the like are few and far between. Good times.
  11. "Saving Your Own Ass First" -- Nice!
  12. Nice!
  13. If only they could BRAC al udeid.
  14. Yeah that Tacan into BAF is pretty gnar--got me on my first try.
  15. Just those days are "prorated" tax free.
  16. Too flowerly and I too have a hard time believing some of his stories. I've talked to a couple people who've been in and out of the field he mentions at the end and each has said it wasn't nearly as difficult to find and land on as he leads the reader to believe.
  17. You must not know much about Gunship deployment rates.
  18. Awesome.

    PIT Crash Pad

Pfft. That 600 thread count stuff is for the birds... go with 1000!
  20. Hard f'ing core.
  21. Dude needed help from a magazine to find women. How sad.
  22. That is, of course, until 2 of the bundles miss the dz completely.
  23. The latest words from AFSOC/A1 are that they are working on a crossflow plan between H's and U's. Who knows if it will happen but it would certainly appear as if AFSOC is trying to make it "fair" for gunship guys through dual qualing.
  24. If we ever go to an airshow, I'll have to break this one out.
  25. I think it's in the ladies room right next to the plaque for the alternates... and the picture of your mom.
