Is it finally on Netflix? I saw it in the hotel in Anaheim earlier this year, thought it was hilarious and still do... Cheers! M2

Damn. I keep saying I'm gonna seriously back off on the firearms purchases, and then I see this for sale at the local gun show this morning... Well, as you can probably tell by the setting in the above pics, I bought it. It's a Vz2008, a Century-built version of the Czechoslovak Vz58 rifle; and I got it with a bayonet, sling and cleaning kit for $500 + tax. While similar in appearance to a Kalashnikov, there are no interchangeable parts. The only connection is that it uses the same intermediate round (7.62x39). These are built on milled receivers but still lighter than most AK stamped rifles. It is also more compact. The fixed stock can be easily replaced with a sidefolding one without the modifications an AK requires. Typically they have "composite" furniture (wood impregnated plastic, much like pressboard) but this one has the older and in my opinion more desirable wooden furniture on it. Spent shells are expended upward and the magazines are made out of aluminum and not steel like most AKs. But since it is a completely different animals than the Kalashnikovs I've gotten used to, I am going to have to learn how it is built and works. Should be fun, but I've heard nothing but great things about these rifles and I've been wanting to get one for years as back in the early 1990s I was on a military liaison team in Bratislava and Trenčín in the former Czechoslovakia and spent some time training with the 3rd Regiment of their Special Forces, who used the Vz58 albeit with the folding stock. I plan on getting one for this rifle since they are simple to install. Cheers! M2

B-I-NGO! B-I-NGO! B-I-NGO and BINGO was his name-o! And for some reason, when I was looking for a picture for this post, Google offered this... I'd bingo the hell out of that! Cheers! M2

Colorado has a castle law. The statute states that “any occupant of a dwelling is justified in using any degree of physical force, including deadly physical force, against another person when that other person has made an unlawful entry into the dwelling, and when the occupant has a reasonable belief that such other person has committed a crime in the dwelling in addition to the uninvited entry, or is committing or intends to commit a crime against a person or property in addition to the uninvited entry, and when the occupant reasonably believes that such other person might use any physical force, no matter how slight, against any occupant.” (Source) In other words, he should've shot their asses in the first place. Of course, being a kind Texan, I would've kindly asked them to vacate the property immediately while showing them the business end of my .45. A simple 'vámonos' and a sweeping of the barrel would suffice; but after that fair and legally sufficient warning, there would be no 48 hour waiting period for them to comply... What's this world coming to? Cheers! M2

I have a Mossy 500 Persuader, it's my HD weapon of choice. It's the AK of short-barreled shotties! But this deal was put on hold, the seller decided to hang on to it but promised me first shot at it if he changes his mind. Since we never solidified the deal, i have no problems with that, I really wasn't in the market for a 28" shotgun at the moment anyway... To me while I applaud the return to the .45, I don't see the 1911 being the best platform of choice. There are numerous modern .45s available that would be more dependable, lighter, have higher capacities and will require less maintenance than the Browning design. Don't get me wrong, I love my 1911s but I don't carry one. I am much more comfortable with my XD with its 13+1 and absolutely perfect record to date with thousands of rounds down the pipe. I just think there were better options... Cheers! M2

Dang, the last thing I need at the moment is to buy another gun; but a buddy of mine is offering this to me for $150 and it's too tough to pass up on... It's a New Haven 600AT (made by Mossberg and identical to a 500) 12 gauge pump shotgun with 28" barrel with the select choke feature. Gun has been freshly duracoated in HK semi gloss black and has beautiful wood furniture. Runs 3" and 2 3/4" shells. Anyone ever run one of these before? Cheers! M2

Maybe they got distracted playing 'Repeater'... That'll happen...

We get it, but we also understand that there's always more to the story than just one person's perspective, even if that person was the victim. You've been on G-series orders before, so should know this as well as anyone. As Vertigo said, no one is condoning what happened to the girl; but there were contributing factors on her part and there is no need to idolize her for breaking the law herself. She has my deepest sympathy for what happened, but she has other avenues to address her regress that don't involve violating a court order. Two wrongs don't make a right, as the old saying goes... As for Masshole, fully understand the need for comms jamming... Cheers! M2

Lighten up, no one here knows the complete story and there could be numerous other factors involved that would paint an entirely different picture of what actually transpired. And her 17-yr-old dignity was lost when she got so inebriated at a party that she passed out...

Really? Do you not watch the news? Obama's "crew" has been pushing for more gun control for years, and now they're even more livid after this one incident. But honestly the spike in gun sales is more due to people realizing that they may be responsible for their own protection. I work with both Federal and municipal law enforcement agencies and all those that I have talked with about law-abiding citizens agreed that it is a good idea. They realize that they can't be there for everyone all the time. As the old adage goes, when seconds count, the police are only minutes away. I have a good friend who is the chief of police for a town here in Texas and he admits that the police are mainly armed to protect themselves, not others. When they go after a shooter, they are stopping the threat to them not you and I. But as Dave Grossman has pointed out, the world is full of sheep, sheepdogs and wolves. I accept that the vast majority of people fall into the first category, and that the last one preys on them. Some of us fall in the middle, determined to do our best to stop that from happening. Most are like myself, prior military or law enforcement; but a few are just good old-fashion citizens who risk their lives to defend others. Not claiming I could have stopped the tragedy in Aurora, but had I been there I sure as hell would have done my best to try! Cheers! M2

What? I don't own any guns; they were all lost in a terrible boating accident a few weeks ago... All my ammo as well! Cheers! M2

Bwahaha! Sorry 'bout that!

Usually both.

Wow, no shit! But I still prefer the old school AK method of taking a flat piece of steel and having a one-toothed Olga pound it into a receiver! Cheers! M2

Slap, Pull, Observe, Release, Tap and Shoot (per FM 3-22.9) Personally, I prefer Tap, Rack, Bang.
