WTF? Penis prank caught by Google satellite No shit, I did not make this up... And yes, if you check GoogleEarth, it is real. Search on this address: 25 Bankwood Road, Chartwell 3210, New Zealand (or you can used GoogleMaps) and look towards the top of the campus.

Already being discussed in the AFROTC & OTS Lounge... Cheers! M2

Do they really adjudicate clearances for AFROTC cadets? I guess collateral ones would make sense, since every officer must have at least a secret clearance; but not TS/SCI...

A great US Army site remembering this historic day! D-Day, June 6th, 1944 Cheers! M2

Nothing funnier than a lieutenant that claims to be so busy that they can't remember to salute! It ain't gonna get any easier, boys; learn to deal with all of it from the onset; otherwise you're not gonna be a happy camper in the near future. One day you'll look back on these days with pure envy as to how simple things were!

I've seen them at shows, and to be honest I wouldn't waste my money. Either save up and buy a real Class III weapon, or live in the land of semi-auto like the rest of us. I can easily replicate what this stock does with a rubber band, and it doesn't require firing from the hip (that's a different method of bump-firing); but honestly even at ranges where full-auto is allowed I don't want to risk drawing that much attention to myself. Plus, there are other aspects of that stock I wouldn't be thrilled about. But that's just my opinion, much like Pager Pals I am sure there are some folks out there who will rave about this contraption. Me, I've got better things to spend my money on! Cheers! M2

AMEN! Seriously, is it that fucking hard to salute someone? When I was still in I saluted buds who outranked me, because they earned it, and I respected that!

Well, if you want to get pissy about it, it's an award and not a medal. It's what the organization did during his time there, not so much him specifically. And if you're that bi-curious as to why he has it, you can read his bio here and find out where he was when it was awarded. Since he has a Southwest Asia Service Medal with bronze star and an Iraqi Campaign Medal with bronze star, that'd be my first guess.

A SrA with a AFCOM with a 'V' device ain't something you see everyday, and it is well deserved. I'd buy Boggs a couple of beer, he's a motivated young troop and I wish there were a helluva lot more like him. I just hope all the queep doesn't grind him down over the years like it has many of us. Hell, I hope he's motivated enough to put some effort into trying to turn the tide, instead of rolling over and accepting it like so many have. You never know, he could be the one that that gets things turned around... Cheers! M2

I agree your Det dropped the ball by not informing HQ AFROTC of your extra year, but don'tcha think that given the fact that you've failed to pass three classes might be a contributing factor in your needing the extra time to graduate? And don't get too comfortable with these Mulligans once you get on active duty. Hell, in today's world I am surprised you've been able to stay in the program with those strikes. The USAF is looking for ways to cut numbers across the board, and you're just giving them reasons to target you when you get a conditional. I wish you all the luck, but you are somewhat responsible for your situation and it doesn't take too much these days to find yourself out on the street.
-
Ummmm....I understand your Det may have dorked the 22 package; but WTF is this all about? This was your third conditional due to grades? It's been a long time since I was in AFROTC, but even back in the old days this would have put you on very thin ice. If I'm not mistaken, conditionals are still given when your GPS drops below 2.5, right? One would be somewhat understandable, two a little tougher to explain, but three? Good luck with your effort to get reinstated, but don't go telling one that your cadre made all the mistakes when you've got three conditionals!

HeloDude 18 USC 922r is a pain in the ass to comprehend, but this guy probably explains it best at a caveman level. Basically, if you make any modification to the original form of the rifle or shotgun brought into the country, it has to be 922-compliant. Those features added that are generally considered to be changing the weapon are: - High capacity (greater than 10 round for rifles, 5 rounds for shotgun) magazines - Pistol grip attachment - Folding buttstock - Muzzle device/attachment (to include a threaded barrel capable of receiving a device) - Bayonet lugs As stated in that link, if your rifle or shotgun incorporates those features, it no longer is considered "suitable for sporting purposes." So under the letter of the law, such simple "modifications" as using a 10-shell magazine changes your "sporterized" Saiga shotgun into a nasty "modified" one, and you then have to replace parts until you are assured it has no more than 10 of imported parts on it. And be careful, because not all aftermarket parts for Saigas are made in the US! To remain in compliance of 922r, the number of foreign parts must be 10 or less! Now, whether the BATF will arrest you at the range for shooting a 10-shell magazine in your Saiga shotgun is debatable. I honestly can't recall anyone ever being prosecuted for having a non-922r compliant firearm, or the BATF inspecting weapons at a gun range; but there is always the chance and especially so if you later try to sell it. Best to be safe for the time being and just use the 5-round mag until such a time that you can replace parts to make it 922r compliant! But that's my knowledge of the law, and I am not a lawyer nor do I profess to being one on TV. The bottom line is that it's your call... Cheers! M2

Sorry dude, that's classified information! Nice! Is the Saiga stock or has it been converted? Either way, those are getting tough to find, so snagging one is a good score! Yep, it's a great country we live in (well, most of it!). Cheers! M2

I would not let my life depend on a Kel-Tec! Anyhow, in better news, guess what arrived today? And just for shits and giggles, here's a 7.62x39 AK round next to the 8mm Mauser the above M76 uses... Cheers! M2

J&G finally got these back in stock, so I got a wild hair and ordered one. I've been wanting a Yugo Zastava M76 DMR for a while now, and since they've gotten pretty scarce I thought I'd jump on this opportunity before it too disappeared... Should be here in about a week... Cheers! M2

This topic is deserving of its own thread; otherwise, it'll get lost in the 116+ pages of the gun thread. So here ya go, enjoy! Cheers! M2
