Well, like a good Communist I am adding to the arsenal. Thursday I drive an hour out into rural Texas to pick this up... It's a Century Romanian WASR-10 in "excellent condition" and only 30 "flawless" rounds down the pipe, and the seller ensures me that the sights are straight. It has two steel mags, a bayonet, and cleaning kit for $390. I didn't see a single WASR-10 for under $450 at last weekend's gun show, and if for any reason I end up not liking it I already have someone who wants to buy it from me if I decide to sell it. Oh, and I picked up some brand new Polish swelled palm handguards and a pistol grip this past weekend, so I might end up throwing them on this to see how it looks! I will now have as many AKs as I have SKS rifles! But both combined aren't even close to the number of Mosins I got! Cheers! M2

Also dig around the DNI web site, there's other reporting that will give you plenty to peruse. From here out you're on your own, this is the last of the spoonfeeding. If you want to be an intel officer, you are going to have to learn to be a little more resourceful in finding the information you seek!

From an intel perspective, it's not so much what is going on as it is why. A little predictive analysis is good to have, know potential adversarial courses of action and which is more likely to occur and why. Don't regurgitate what CNN and/or FOX is reporting, that's not intelligence. Subscribe to the free intelligence report from STRATFOR's web site (upper righthand corner), they usually have an excellent perspective on what's going on in the world.

Know the basic intelligence cycle, analysis, targeting, and intel support to air operations. Get some general knowledge on the intel disciplines (IMINT, SIGINT, etc) and the national and service platforms that perform collection missions. Familiarize yourself with the intelligence community (look here). Browse through the information AU bibliography on intel, check out some of the links. That should give you a good background. However, the AU AWC Gateway on Intel is probably your best single source for intel information and links.

Interfering with a law enforcement officer during the execution of their duties is against the law in most states...in Texas it's a Class B misdemeanor: The vagueness in which it is written leaves a lot of leeway in how it can be applied. In Michigan (where the video was shot, if I am not mistaken) I believe it's a violation of §777.49 - Interference with the Administration of Justice.

I also don't know the story is behind this, but since there is a sidewalk most likely the laws are the same as they are in most places where the state/city property begins at its farthest edge from the street and continues down to the pavement. As such, the poles are technically on state/city property; thus can be legally removed... Still, there's no need for such drastic measures; unless of course this has been an ongoing issue.

Yep, that's San Antonio for ya! Funny thing is, I just met a few lads from the SAPD SWAT team two weeks ago. They're a great team and I am sure they'd rather put a .308 sized tunnel through this clown but were told to tear gas him instead. Also met some of the hostage negotiators a few weeks back, and they're good dudes as well. That said, today was a sad day for the SAPD as they buried one of their female officers who was killed by a drunk driver riving on the wrong side of the interstate, at night, with no lights on. According to reports, the driver of the wrong-way vehicle had bar receipts in his pocket, and a previous conviction for DWI. She was the third officer injured/killed by a drunk driver in the past six months here.

Well, I found a Tula M44 this weekend for $200 shipped from a guy in Michigan (see post #2208 for back story). It's counterbored, but otherwise in excellent condition according to the seller. That was my ballpark price so I'm happy, now I just need to get to the post office for a money order. I also need one for a Bulgarian AKS-74 paratrooper drop case that I am buying for my SAR-1... I have one for my Khyber Pass and it's a great way to store and transport a folding stock AK! Cheers! M2

An easy and simple solution would be to make combat/hazardous duty pay daily instead of monthly. It's been pretty common for certain individuals to arrive in-country on the last day of the month, then leave on the first day to garner two months' worth of pay. This would put a quick stop to that. As for what areas qualify for it, there does need to be stricter criteria. I know guys who got hazardous duty pay for being in Croatia during SFOR (not IFOR, SFOR). What hazards they were subject to there are beyond me... Cheers! M2

Fuck, I am pissed off. Some jackweed about 90 miles from here had a Tula M44 for $190, so I emailed him explicitly saying I'd take it; but since my wife in in the hospital at the moment it would probably be this weekend before I could pick it up. Now the asshole tells me he's sold it locally. I almost feel like driving up there and kicking him in the junk! What a fuckstick! Sorry, just had to vent. Shitheads like this just piss me off!
