Here ya go, how American's feel about the military services... Cheers! M2 Gallup Panel Military Perceptions Study.pdf

Why bother? According to Deptula, the F-22s and F-35s can provide all the ISR we need...

OC Thanks, I actually saw a few of the new 955TS carbines at the gun show and I was a bit amazed at how "plasticy" they felt. I don't mind polymer guns, but these just felt like plain old plastic! I might still snag this one, but I don't know if I am going to pay his asking price. We'll just have to see... Cheers! M2

Crow Sorry, what'd ya say? I keep getting distracted by your avatar! Anyhow, thanks for the info. I've got a quick question for ya, is that an extended magazine or is it just not inserted all the way? I thought all the used were 10-rounders... There is the monthly gun show tomorrow morning, and if I don't find anything I will contact the guy about this 955TS. It is the newer version, and the bolt does lock back after the last round unlike the earlier models. Plus it has the new stock and more rails... Cheers! M2

I might have a chance to pick up a HiPoint 995TS 9mm carbine at a decent price, and it appears to be a fun little plinking gun... I was wondering if anyone had any firsthand experience with one and if so, what they thought of it? I know it's just a cheap rifle, but since 9mm ammo is getting easier to find cheaply, it seems like it would be a cool toy. Cheers! M2

The more I play with this new phone, the more I like it! I finally figured out how to load music on it, and I just found an application that allows me to turn a song into a ringtone! As such, incoming calls are signaled by Dick Dale's Misirlou... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9rg2uP_xXk And when my oldest son calls, it's the latest from Alice in Chains... (It's his favorite song at the moment, and I like it a lot as well! ) Wow, this 21st Century stuff is pretty cool! Cheers! M2

I know a really great FFL here in SA, he's a bud so transfers are free!

Shit, those were da bomb back in the day! My Dad's first cell phone had to be carried around in a brief case! This is more of what I remember our first cell phones as being like... Speaking of which, the wife and kiddies got me a Sprint HTC Hero for Christmas. My old phone wasn't that far removed from the one in that video. Texting was like sending Morse Code. This new one is taking me a little while to figure it out, but I am beginning to like it! One observation though...why do they still call them "phones" as that is such a small aspect of what they can do? I figured someone would dream up some term like "Personal Communication Devices" of something like that. They probably have, I just haven't heard about it. Cheers! M2

Yeah, but I don't live in Abilene! p.s. That doesn't list every FFL, just the ones registered with GunBroker!

For the most part, I had nothing but positive experiences with the French officers and troops I worked with at NATO....

I was a big mutherfuckin' S&W .44 Magnum, with a minimum 6" barrel on it! Just like my hero, Sledge Hammer!

This looks interesting as well... Big Daddy (Sorry, couldn't get the video to embed) It's the new Nicolas Cage movie called Kick-Ass being released in the spring...apparantly it's based on a comic book. I hope it's better than Ghost Rider, Cage is better when he's not trying to be so serious and I couldn't get over that lousy toupee he was wearing in that movie! Cheers! M2

This pretty well sums up how I feel about guns... Merry Christmas, y'all! Cheers! M2

Last info on her was from the September 20, 2008 Air Force Marathon, where she won her division and took second overall... Bib FName LName City State Age Sex ClockTime Overall SexPl DivPl 2254 Jill Metzger Henderson NC 35 F 3:11:58 59 2 1 (Source) It does not appear that she ran in the September 19, 2009 marathon. A search of Yahoo's 2009 news archives showed no articles on her. Looks like she's disappeared...

Can anyone think of a similar exercise that would provide not only her with the benefits, but her man as some as well? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4S3C4AC908w

Got a 1933 Tula Mosin Nagant from the man in the brown truck today (he even asked if it was a rifle), and tomorrow I am meeting a guy about a Yugo M59. That's three C&R firearms within a week. Ain't life great?!? Cheers! M2

Whatever you do, don't give up! I was expelled from college after my first semester (long story), but I got re-admitted and made it through the program. Of the 150 cadets in my freshman AFROTC class, only 15 eventually graduated and only half of those on time (and I was one of them). As advised, professionally discuss the situation with your instructor and/or cadre. Admit to your mistake, and if you get an answer you don't like then just accept it. You still have options, but once a decision is made this fight is over. Find another way and go for it!

Coolness! They are pretty sweet, Wes did a great job ensuring that they had the reflective material in them! Cheers! M2

flyboy2181 Whereas that is very sound advice, and we all appreciate folks on here trying to look out for each other, I've talked with Marco and his squadron leadership was not only aware of what was going on, they gave permission beforehand. It sounds like they've covered their bases, so until there is other compelling reasons for removing this thread, we'll let it stand. Cheers! M2

Picked up a Izhevsk M38 at the show today for $200 out the door with the usual accouterments (sing, ammo pouches, tools and oil can). It has a wartime M38 stock (not like the later ones that had M44 stocks), but it is counterbored. Stiil, M38s are drying up and I needed one for the collection. I used my C&R license and it was a snap, no paperwork other than the receipt I was given. They also kept the copy and will put it on file, so I can order or buy more from the vendor without giving them another copy. It's a great situation, and well worth the $10/year a 03 FFL costs... And JollyFright, you are correct sir, I could afford a SOCMO 16 if I quit buying all these milsurps; but considering I am getting 6-8 rifles for the price of one, I am happy buying these old Russian rifles. Still, if I save up for anything, it will be a S&W .44 Magnum revolver or a M1918 BAR (I've always wanted one!). One of these days I will snag a SOCOM 16 or a LR308, but for the time being I am chasing the old stuff! Cheers! M2

Bad news for you collectors out there, my C&R license arrived today from the BATFE; so I am now on the hunt! It took exactly one month from the day I mailed it to the day it arrived, and I am now in the process of putting my binder together (not really that tough). Next I am going to make a bunch of copies of it, then send it to AIM Surplus, J&G Sales, etc. Actually, I have a '33 Tula Mosin Nagant inbound next week, that'll be my first entry unless I find something at the small gun show tomorrow! And for those of you in the central Texas area, there's a vintage rifle match on 20 December in New Braunfels... Here's the location on Google maps to make nav'ing easy for anyone who might be able to go! Cheers! M2

Yeah, another Russian "success"... Or at least that's what they're claiming! Cheers! M2

There was already a thread on holsters, so I merged the two. Also, the person that started that thread has received a warning, as is standard and outlined in Rule #1 is: And it applies to everyone from a new AFROTC freshman to the CSAF (if Norm is on here). Actually, I cut that person a break...take a look at Rule #4! If anyone has heartburn with that, then PM any or all of the mods, or contact BaseOps himself. Otherwise, those are the rules, simple and to the point. Also, I had thought about merging this thread into the 'Gun Talk' one given the caveat that "All Gun Discussions Here;" but will allow this one to stand on its own given most of the discussion there is on personal firearms.
