Here's a complete list and a couple of factoids...some interesting folks have received the distinction (e.g. Joseph Stalin - twice and Ayatullah Khomeini). The ones such as 'The Computer,' 'Endangered Earth' and 'You' are cop outs. Was there no distinct individuals from those years? Cheers! M2

And, most importantly, does Shennanigan have any more pics of his babe? Cheers! M2

First, no, I wasn't around back then; but TIME did declare Adolph Hitler their Man of the Year back in 1938... Interesting factoid: Cheers! M2

Russia's playing all sides here, read this latest STRATFOR report on the Deputy PM's recent speech... Cheers! M2

Hell, I'm just waiting for the car that will drive me home when I get drunk! In the mean time, I've gotta rely on the old lady for that! A remotely-piloted vehicle would be a lot easier to build than a remotely-piloted transport plane, and do you see any of those around yet? Nope. The day might come; but for the time being, I think everyone can relax knowing that the days of nothing but unmanned aircraft are still a ways away... Cheers! M2

Wow, I am surprised you ever got it fixed at all! We go through this every year when our contract renews, so far I have to thank The Powers That Be as I have been able to get my certificates and everything to work first time around. I do not like being at the mercy of the comms squadron, most of their 'security measures' only serve to prohibit legitimate users from using the network. Seriously, are people checking their Yahoo or Hotmail accounts really sucking up that much bandwidth that those sites have to be blocked? And if they are spending too much time on those sites, eBay, or God forbid BaseOps; then shouldn't it be up to their supervisors to fix that, and not the comms nazis? I understand there has to be limits--the public computers at ISAF were so full of porn and spyware that you couldn't connect to any web sites, then rendering themselves useless--but there also has to be a balance that those who have us by the short and curlies when it comes to computers and the Internet are failing to understand. And call me old fashioned, but when I am told there is going to be an "upgrade," I expect my computer to work better/faster/harder. Usually it ends up meaning I can't log on... Cheers! M2

And, from another forum... This is US Code folks! Some folks need in Berkeley need to be sent to jail! Cheers! M2

Guess what motivated Berkeley? And more... And even more...with a few more senators dogpiling on... Glad to see someone who thinks like we do... Cheers! M2

Before this thread turns into the usual debate over "at what point are you really in combat;" let's nip that one in the bud. What we do is serve our country, and as long as you are doing that you are serving honorably. Now, those who put themselves in harm's way should garner greater respect; but not by diminishing those who serve nobly without doing so. When it all comes down to it, it is the soldier on the front line who deserves the greatest respect. Bottom line, whether you are "lobbing JDAMs from the bozosphere," strafing the Taliban with a little 30mm party mix, passing gas or turning wrenches on the jet; everyone has a role in the fight and should execute it to the utmost of their capabilities. And if that job is to drive UAVs from Creech, then kickass at it! It is easy to excel at the jobs you like, but a lot tougher to do so with the ones you don't. Cheers! M2

Busdriver pretty much nailed it, the only change I suggest is that our goal is not really to kill the enemy; but to make him capitulate to our desires. If we can do that without killing him, great; if not, then as busdriver said we need to do everything within our power to give ourselves the greatest advantage towards success. If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you've fucked up! Cheers! M2

Hard to believe that Arnold is their governor! Y'know, if they tried that shit in Texas, they would get their asses kicked! I propose that all Federal and state funding to Berkeley be terminated until they pull their heads out their collective asses. Redirect that money to a city that appreciates it! Cheers! M2

Looks like the '72 Dolphins still remain the only team with a perfect season... Cheers! M2

Get used to being flexible, it happens all the time! Don't worry though, everything will catch up with you (eventually)... Cheers! M2

Peterson's web site is not showing anything on the 853d Electronics Systems Group (note it is not the 853d Electronics Group, but Electronic Systems Group! Search on that name and you will get more info, such as this). Might be a small detachment or just a liaison office for the 21st Space Wing. Here is the fact sheet for the 653d Electronic Systems Wing, under which the 853 ESG falls, which included the following... Your job may be supporting that one aspect of the mission I highlighted. Wouldn't worry too much about it if I were you, you'll find out soon enough what you are expected to do. In the mean to, focus on getting to where you are suppose to go...but if you are really itching to find out, you could always try calling the Electronic Systems Center Public Affairs office at: (781) 377-3912. Cheers! M2

You gotta be fucking shitting me! I thought the reason we went to war against Islamic terrorists, the Taliban and Saddam was to preserve American institutions such as the Lingerie Bowl! And what a lame-ass excuse--can you honestly tell me there aren't other venues willing to host such a wonderful event? Hell, bring the girls to San Antonio, they can play the game in my back yard! I'll even hose them down if the Texas heat gets to be too much for them! Fuck me, this really ruined my day! Cheers! M2

Unfortunately for the rest of you, that particular uniform is only authorized for us contractors... Cheers! M2

OK, I'm gonna give it a shot. How's this? Cheers! M2

The Air Force had a nice dark blue poly wool longsleeved shirt but it was phased out in the mid-80s... I actually had one when I was a SrA up at Mt Home...it looked great! BTW, mine wasn't the one above, I found this one for sale on eBay! Cheers! M2

Bummer...but at least she went out with style... Cheers! M2

I guess you "manly men" are also not going to watch the Miss America Pagent tonight either. Too bad, as you are going to miss Jill Stevens, a.k.a. Miss Utah, who is also a combat medic in the Utah Army National Guard and who deployed to Bagram. Video here, and even the Army has a web site for her... Cheers! M2

Hey, the whole family likes to watch the mass auditions for American Idol. Some real entertainment there! As for Goodman, she's kinda got some Shirley Ann Manson-thing going, doesn't she? I think she did a good job during her background video. I am sick of hearing about single-teenaged mothers or former crack addicts who "need a break," and she also didn't spout off a load of canned-spam like some PA assbag. She really deserved to go through, despite her nervousness. Cheers! M2

Max nix, she didn't. Whoops, I hope I didn't spoil it for anyone! Cheers! M2 p.s. Just to answer your question, considering all the publicity the AF got out of her just trying out, I am sure she would have gotten every opportunity to go as far as she could. p.s.s. Honestly, I didn't think she was that bad. Sure, she was a little nervous, and you could tell she hasn't had any professional training; but she seemed to have more talent than a lot of the people they've put through. Just my two cents...

Trust me, this approach has a better chance of success than one-on-one counseling; but it is less common in the USAF as it is in the USMC or the Army. Peer "pressure" can work wonders... Cheers! M2

Here's the story... However, I can tell you from firsthand experience that USAFE is a far ways away from San Antonio! And don't hold your breath waiting for Ike jackets, because if anything, they only make the fatasses look fatter! Cheers! M2

Just some words of advice, don't hold off buying the shoulder boards until you need them, 'cause when an event comes up you'll find Clothing Sales won't have them. Go ahead and buy them, set them off to the side somewhere, and if you never use them simply take them back unopened and AAFES will refund your money. At least that way if you need 'em, you'll have 'em! And of course never forget the Testor's solution for making 1st Lt boards! Cheers! M2
