Did you file online? If so, log in here and go under 'SUBMITTED/IN PROCESS' https://eforms.atf.gov/ You can also track the average turnaround dates here... https://www.atf.gov/resource-center/current-processing-times Right now paper Form 1s are averaging 45 days, electronic ones 40... Remember, if you filed under ATF Final Rule 2021R-08F, you are "in compliance" once you filed so you don't have to worry about the 31 May 2023 deadline!

Here's some pics I just took, it's a bit overcast today so not direct sunlight. As you can see, it's fairly bright (pic is on the highest setting). Not as much as the true red dot; but good enough. Also, keep in mind as the reticle is etched, in bright sunlight you have it to focus on (second pic). The red dot on LPVOs is mostly for darker targets or conditions. By the way, I was also looking at the PA ones; but this deal from PSA on the Vortex was just too good to pass up!

I just put a Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8x24mm LPVO on a AR-15, PSA had a great deal on them the weekend before last, $355 delivered with mount! It has BDC references to 600 yards for standard .223/.308 loads... Outdoor Life crowned it the best LPVO for 2023! https://www.outdoorlife.com/gear/best-lpvo/

It's a Catch 22, but there's much less risk registering in my opinion. Providing a photograph isn't any more damning than providing all the details of the firearm itself in a sworn statement on a government form. I doubt the "only kidding defense" would work in this case. I'll accept the extremely slim chance the government will change its mind once again down the road and try to prosecute anyone for doing what it instructed them to do based on a photo they provided to it in the process it demanded. To me, not registering it brings a much greater chance of possible legal action...

Honestly, to file you have to give them a plethora of information, do you honestly believe the Feds don't know what any of us look like?!? Most of us have a CAC or retirement ID card, which means we have a photo in DEERS. As for the claim the government could later come back and charge you with possession of an illegal firearm, anyone who has read the ruling knows that would be a futile effort on their part.

The ATF eForms website didn't give the option to submit fingerprints for 2021R-08F Form 1s, just a photo. It also required the local CLEO information. Ask me how I know...😉

I hear you and agree the cities are at fault for not protecting riders on the subway, but that still doesn't justify the use of a tactic known to greatly increase the chance of death to subdue an unarmed individual. Remember "proportionality?!?"

So had the Marine been armed, it would have been OK/legal to shoot the guy? It's the reasonable use of force continuum, you don't immediately go to lethal/deadly force unless there is an imminent threat to life, which typically requires some type of weapon but could also include motor vehicles. The guy was an active aggressor, and had mental health issues; but he was also unarmed. The intent is de-escalation, and a chokehold under these circumstances does not equate to a "reasonableness standard."

Just a friendly reminder to all with AR pistols, IAW ATF Final Rule 2021R-08F you have until the end of this month to register those items as SBRs via the ATF eForms website. The process takes about 30-45 minutes to complete, which includes creating an account if you don't already have one; and requires a photograph of the owner holding the firearm in lieu of fingerprints, the addresses of the original manufacturer and local law enforcement official. Per the ruling, owners are in compliance if they submit through eForms system an Application to Make and Register a Firearm, ATF Form 1 (E-Form 1) before May 31, 2023 (Source).

A chokehold is never a good idea, and while the Marine who did so won't be charged, there was no reason in this instance to use it. The guy was yelling at passengers and throwing trash, but that still doesn't justify using what the DOJ has determined to be a potentially lethal tactic... As for AOC, she's just being her usual ass hat self...

No, what makes me feel f'in old is a 2d Lt I sponsored onto active duty when I was a captain is now a Lt Gen... 😮 Luckily, I look 10-15 years younger than I am!

There really isn't one, other than the sight of a T-90 in rural Louisiana because the truck hauling it broke down...

Used to catch rides with Army UH-1s (yeah, I'm old!) out of Tipton AAF at Ft Meade. They'd regularly get clearance to fly down the Atascosa through DC and northwest past Georgetown along the Potomac to Great Falls with the doors pinned back (if the weather was nice) and below the scenic overlooks along the river. It had a real Apocalypse Now feel to it! 😁

JADE HELM much? I've worked with Federal and local law enforcement agencies since retiring, and they regularly train in commercial facilities. I role played as a Second Amendment nut (not a stretch) and hostage taker during a large regional FBI training event a while back. The exercise controllers were impressed on how well I did talking with their negotiators (a lot of PSYOP on my part) given very little of what I said was scripted. I was also a "mass shooter" named "Angus McAngus" (I had an impressive red beard at the time) during a municipal multi-agency exercise conducted in a business park in west San Antonio many years ago. The SAPD used to use Billy Mitchell Housing on the former Kelly AFB for cadet, PSD, SWAT and EMT tactics training for years (it is owned by the city, and has since been converted to low-budget housing). With the cadet training, if they forgot to lock their patrol vehicles or even worse, leave the keys in them, the FTOs wanted us to "steal" the cars and hide them. There's nothing more hilarious than to see the faces of cadets round the corner of a building only to find their vehicle gone! If they took their keys but still failed to lock them, we'd turn all the lights on, shine the spotlight in their faces, and sing the reggae theme from Cops over the PA. Sure, it was ugly; but it's better they learn such hard lessons during training than out in the real world! The bottom line is such training is very useful as compared to using simulated facilities at local police academies. Most medium and smaller departments don't even have them; and those that do find the students have memorized the layouts and anticipate what is going to occur. Changing the location to one they are not familiar with adds a great deal of realism to the training!

Am I the only one who sees this?!?

And people bitch about not being allowed to wear beards and "males" wearing earrings...

It doesn't stipulate OCPs, just morale shirts in general. Much like ATF rulings, it's all up to "interpretation!" 😎
-
Authorizes Friday morale shirts with logo on the front and back: This expands the current morale shirt regulation by allowing logos to be worn at a larger diameter on the back of the shirt in addition to having a logo on the left side of the chest not to exceed five inches in diameter. Regardless of the logo, the shirt must be Coyote Brown. https://www.af.mil/News/Article-Display/Article/3336524/air-force-releases-102nd-uniform-board-results-for-airmen-guardians/

No. Article 6 ("An armed attack on any party under Article 5 includes an attack on the territory, forces, vessels or aircraft of any party") specifies the agreement considered only European and North American territories "in the Mediterranean Sea or the North Atlantic area north of the Tropic of Cancer," otherwise known as the "Tropic of Cancer loophole." According to the language of the treaty, the Soviet Union could have bombed Pearl Harbor without technically invoking Article 5. The same affects Hawaii. Other NATO-allied possessions that fall outside of the alliance's protection include a number of Caribbean islands, Puerto Rico, French Polynesia, Guantanamo Bay, Guam, the Marianas, Samoa, French Guiana and (still) the Falkland Islands. To note, the language of the treaty has been stretched before, given the entry of Turkey into the North Atlantic alliance...

I spent some time at the Ft. Chaffee RTC. While there isn't much in Fort Smith, it's still a relatively nice area (or, in other words, I suspect most of us have been to worse places)!
