    Gunner Palace

HD That's one ID'd. Surprised you don't regonize the guy in the middle. The dude on the left is the toughest to ID...but if you were in TAC in the mid-80's, you'd know him based on a certain color...(hint hint). Cheers! M2

Talk about cheesy 'staches, I found this pic while doing some reading at SOS and had to scan it in. Bonus points for naming the three amigos pic'd here, and what positions they would eventually reach. I've blacked out their nametags to keep it from being too simple. Two are easy, one's a bit tougher... BTW Hacker, how did Tyler get your pic? Cheers! M2

Hacker I know I've said it before but I gotta sy it again, that's some sweet noseart on that bird! Good on ya for keeping Gentile's name and the 4FG tradition going! Cheers! M2 p.s. Cheesy 'stache...good on ya!
  4. Dear God, NJP for a ****ing video? I wonder what candyass it offended. Shit, maybe it is time to retire... Cheers! M2
  5. GUNNER PALACE reveals the complex realities of the situation in Iraq not seen on the nightly news. Told first-hand by our troops, 'Gunner Palace' presents a thought provoking portrait of a dangerous and chaotic war that is personal, highly emotional, sometimes disturbing, surprisingly amusing ... and thoroughly fascinating. Filmmaker Michael Tucker, who lived with 2/3 Field Artillery, a.k.a. "The Gunners" for two months, captures the lives and humanity of these soldiers whose barracks are the bombed-out pleasure palace of Uday Hussein (nicknamed Gunner Palace), situated in the heart of the most volatile section of Baghdad. With total access to all operations and activities, Tucker's insider footage provides a rare look at the day-to-day lives of these soldiers on the ground -- whether swimming in Uday's pool and playing golf on his putting green or executing raids on suspected terrorists, enduring roadside bombs, mortar attacks, RPGs and snipers. You can visit the web site here, or watch or download the 4.65MB trailer here. Cheers! M2
  6. It's a Panton, not a lion. Cheers! M2
  7. Irish I think your comment "congrats on being a top pro internet searcher" was what ClearedHot was referring to, and rightly so. Take your beating like a man, especially when deserved. Anyhow, most if not all UPT bases (and most operational bases as well) sell them at Clothing Sales. Cheers! M2
  8. Medium or fine point? Cheers! M2

    Audio file?

..or let me know, I also have it and can easily send it out. However, some US ISPs (to include AOL) block my Belgian ISP. Cheers! M2
  11. That link pretty much covers it, I would just like to add that all USAF officers have a secret clearance as a minimum. Others will be granted higher levels as appropriate. As the article says, the highest you can get is Top Secret, but there are caveats such as Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Programs (SAP) that are in addition to that. There are also specific clearances for specific types of intelligence, depending on its source. Trust me, I drown in this shit every day. We joke that our jobs are so classified, even we aren't allowed to know what we do! Cheers! M2
  12. Yep, it is a 555th bird from Aviano, but not sure if it is kept at Ramstein all the time. Why he can't fly a jet from one of the two Viper squadrons up at Spangdahlem I don't know... Honestly, most of you guys don't have to put up with all his commercials on AFN Europe. I have even had buds in Qatar give me shit because they see him there too. These "forced morale" programs rarely work, they may make Doc feel good about himself, but I have yet to hear anyone else in USAFE that likes them. By the way, in case some of you don't know who Doc is, here's a pic... Cheers! M2
  13. You can get almost anything on eBay...a bud of mine sent me this auction! Two available! Cheers! M2
  14. Berg From what I understand, that ain't gonna happen. Can't go into details, and it is all rumor anyhow, but let's just say those Combat programs may have cost Doc in more ways than one! As much as I still love going to Ramstein (spent four years there, consider it "home"), the "queepy shit" does distract from my fond memories of the place. Chuck, that has to be the funniest quote I've heard in a long time! Cheers! M2
  15. A picture is worth a thousand words...they look like this... Cheers! M2
  16. Down days have been used for years, we used to get one when I was in the UK in the early 80's for making our sortie goals every month. They are also used for special needs, such as training and stuff like that. The only thing about mandatory fun is that if you don't want to be there in the first place, most likely it won't be much fun. However, I worked at the IW Battlelab in San Antonio and worked for a F-111 driver who used to "force" us all to go golfing every once and a while. It was fun, although he didn't like my golf "rules"... I am so ****ing glad I am 3 1/2 hours away from Doc's lair, but some days I wonder if that still isn't enough! Luckily, he doesn't come anywhere near my USMC four-star! Cheers! M2
  17. No, as we fall under EUCOM and not USAFE, we don't get half the days off we should. Actually, we don't even get the EUCOM holidays, as they are infamous for turning a one-day holiday into a four-day weekend. We get NATO holidays, but not the strictly American ones and not even all the rest. Why, you may ask? Because I work for the Army! Am I pissed? You bet! Cheers! M2 p.s. Why can't we be treated like adults here and not have words ****'d out? ****ing hell, if you can take a few swear words then you shouldn't be in the military!
  18. First, fix the new PT program (32" waistlines are a thing of the past once you past 30...hell, you don't even have one). Two, can the new uniform and just go with the Army's ACUs (they were designed by people who actually will wear them, not some Gos at the Pentagon). Three, cut the BS, we can't keep up this opstempo and sustain cuts in manning. Four, have that guy in Europe quit wasting everyone's time with "Combat (Whatever)" and "Wingman Consideration" programs, they are downright silly and make that command look like EuroDisney. Lastly, can we talk about my next assignment??? Cheers! M2 [ 22. November 2004, 23:16: Message edited by: MajorMadMax ]
  19. "(Pages) 4-150 through 4-160: Still classified" Hell, we don't even fly them anymore... Cheers! M2
  20. The place outside the gate at Osan is called New Embroidery, 392 Shinjang 2Dong Pyoungtaek City Kyongki Do Korea, 459-122. You can call them at 82-31-662-6219 or email at newemb@kornet.net However, I have found it is better to get someone to actually go there. As for patch manufacturers, try here. Cheers! M2
  21. I do go by Mike, or M2, or many other unflattering names  ; but it is unbelievable how many people take note of my name. Even the Belg, which is odd as I don't know if Farenheit 911 was even shown over here... Still, gotta love that movie Office Space! Cheers! M2
  22. HD You don't know what a PITA it is having the same name as the filmmaker (yes, my real name is Michael Moore). Kinda like Office Space and Michael Bolton. That WAV file pretty much sums up my feelings toward my namesake as well... Cheers! M2
  23. Don't forget Hero Gear! TONS o' pilot stuff! Cheers! M2
  24. ...and a long and boring one it is! About the only thing of interest you will pass will be the set for the original Alamo movie. Be warned, there are cops along US 90 W...heading back to S.A. one day on the motorcycle I got a bit bored and opened the throttle up somewhat...I was doing well over a ton and passed on a solid line (with a clear view of the road ahead), when the car, a dark Mustang with tinted windows, heading towards me and about a half mile or so in front of me, put on a light show (red and blue) in its front grill. I thought I was hosed, so I went hard on the brakes and bleed off as much speed as possible, still doing so when we passed each other. I was watching my mirrors expecting a Smokey and The Bandit reversal and he just kept going on his merry little way! , but I wasn't complaining! However, you may not be so lucky, so be forewarned! Cheers! M2
  25. C17 I got my Masters in Information Systems through UMUC, but be aware that my degree actually came from Bowie State University (which is a historically black college, so I thought that was pretty cool! ). It took me almost seven years and three assignments to finish (’cause I was too lazy or too busy, nothing their fault), but when I got back to Europe the advisor was extremely helpful in helping me complete the program. I had to bust ass due to the time constraints, then OIF kicked off and things got really bad, but I got it done. UMUC is not the same thing as University of Maryland, and I have heard rumors (and let me emphasize that they are that rumors) that if you wanted to go to College Park after taking classes through UMUC it is like transferring from any other school...e.g, only a limited number of credits transfer over. However, like many topics on this forum, I strongly advise you go talk to the folks at your education office and local UMUC rep. They are a good program and the best thing is once you get about 1/3 of your classes completed, you can complete the program via DE or 1-v-1 programs. In other words, if you want to finish, they will find a way! Cheers! M2
