Actually, FCGs have sections on leave travel for military personnel that most people who don't deal with APACS on a regular basis are completely unaware of. But I do know from firsthand experience that some cruise stops require them as I worked a request earlier this year for someone in my office who needed one... And expecting the cruise line to be aware of this is and notify military customers is unrealistic. That said, have I ever seen it be an issue if someone don't submit an APACS request? Most likely not, chances are you will never need it; but if you do, you'll be damned glad you have it! Cheers! M2

Still check the FCG, there may be requirements beyond what the cruise company is aware of...

Pull the Foreign Clearance Guides for each country you'll be stopping in, it'll give you the leave requirements for each to include what passports/visas may be needed. Also remember you need to put in an APACS request for the trip, even if it's leave. Cheers! M2

Great thread topic, as I too have been wanting to jump onto the GoPro wagon; but have wondered which model to get. A buddy of mine recently showed me a video he shot with a GoPro when he rented an Alfa Romeo 4C in Italy. I was impressed at the quality, and decided it would be a fun to have one. He got his off eBay, but I was wondering if I should do that or buy one of the newer/better ones? With such items I tend to start off cheap until I am sure it's worth the money to get the latest/greatest model. Is that a bad idea when it comes to GoPros? Cheers! M2

Gents Looking for a little help in righting a wrong... The Bentwaters Cold War Museum (https://www.bcwm.org.uk/) in the UK was the victim of a theft of two patches recently, and I was hoping someone on here could help replace one of them. It is a 'Got Nukes?' patch with a 'Nuclear Operations' tab at the bottom... Believe it is a AFGSC patch, definitely post-Cold War but at this point that's not the point. The point is some fucktard stole it (they actually moved a close circuit TV camera prior to gabbing it) and this excellent museum, run by volunteers who work hard to preserve the memory of USAF personnel who lived and worked at the Twin Bases, is now without it.
