Mejor que nada, my friend (and no, that's not the name of a passed over O-4). I get what you're saying, but if you've been following the ass pain involved in just getting to this point you will understand why we consider this a victory. It's not the war, but at least it's one battle closer to where we want to be. And if you've been tracking Texas politics, you will see how blue this state is getting. And some liberal police chiefs (led by that asshole up in Austin running that department) tried to get the whole thing crushed. I agree that the Dutton-Huffines amendment would have made for a better law, but given that the options were to either drop it or lose the entire bill, I think the right decision was made...

It's a step in the right direction, and one that is long overdue. And to be honest, I don't see the police harassing individuals for OC'ing because it will result in civil lawsuits. But I agree, the state is not as gun-friendly as most people think; but with the passage of this bill and (hopefully) campus carry, it is getting better...

Just to caveat, I ain't a lawyer... From what I have read, reciprocity will apply to open carry; so if you have a concealed permit from one of the 40 states that Texas recognizes it will allow you to open carry here once it becomes legal!

On 1 January 2016, individuals with a CHL will be able to legally open carry in Texas...

What bites even more is that the National Football League is an unincorporated nonprofit 501(c )(6) association, meaning its league office is not subject to income tax because it does not make a profit. It considers itself a trade association made up of and financed by its 32 member teams. Each individual team (except the non-profit Green Bay Packers) is subject to tax because they make a profit...- RIP Sheriff Coltrane
Yeah, I was sad to see James Best had passed away last month. I actually emailed him several years ago when there was a big backlash against Dukes of Hazzard going around because of the rebel flag and all that. I wanted to let him know we were big fans of the show. He actually sent a very nice reply, and stated that if there was anything he could do for me or anyone else in the military, he would gladly do so. It was sincere, and just the kind of man he was. During Dukes, Best and Sorrell Booke (who played Boss Hogg) became close friends and would often improvise their scenes together, making up their own dialogue as they went along. The pair's comical ability became apparent and a popular element of the series. Rest in peace, Roscoe P. Coltrane. The world will be a duller place without you!- Scott O Grady Day
Hey, if Hillary can ask a quarter million to spew her vile, then why shouldn't O'Grady get his paycheck? Plus, isn't he an ordained minister these days?!? Wikipedia says he got a master's degree in biblical studies at Dallas Theological Seminary. Anyone know if he still flies in the Reserves?- Shy Bladder Waiver

Met one of his daughters (Deborah Robertson Bardsley) years ago at a Senate Select Committee on POW-MIA Affairs, she was very active in the POW/MIA community back in the early 1990s. Unfortunately, she passed away a few years later from influenza-pneumonia never knowing what happened to her father. You may also remember back in 1990 this photo appeared in the press with the claims it was Robertson (left) with Air Force Major Albro Lundy, Jr. (center) and Navy Lieutenant Larry Stevens (right)... Turned out to be a doctored photo of Russian migrant farmers (source). Like Jughead, at this point most like all we can hope for is the ID and return of his remains. I've actually been to the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command (now Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency) lab on Hickam, the work that organization is doing is impressive, but they can only focus on the remains that have been found or handed over which hasn't happened in Robertson's case. Until then, all we can do is hope... Cheers! M2- Gun Talk
Well done! I badly want a TRP, but with a son getting ready to go to college in the fall, it'll have to wait! That said, if I sold the four Springfield 1911s I already have, I could afford one. I just can't bring myself to do that! Cheers! M2
