More info from XDTalk (emphasis mine)... I'm still waiting for all the hubbub to die down before sending mine in, and I will continue shooting/carrying it. I've loaded that thing enough that if there was really a problem, I'd know it by now...

Got it to the range this morning, was pleasantly surprised at how well it shot! Sure, loading every round and having to manually cock it (STS) is a pain; but it's a accurate shooter! Plus, shooting three bucks of .22LR is a lot easier on the wallet than $23 worth of 7.62x39 (three mags). Keystone sells a scope mount for it, I might considering putting a cheap TASCO or BSA one on it. I also have some .22 CB rounds that should work in it, they are low muzzle velocity (between 350-700 ft/s, about the same as a pellet gun) but the actual bullet is significantly heavier than a typical airgun pellet and therefore carries more energy, so they are more lethal! They also have almost no report, so I could actually use 'em in the back yard without anyone knowing! It'd be a good way to get rid of that fucking cat that keeps pissing in our hedge! Cheers! M2

Don't ask why, but I picked up one of these for a hundred bucks today... The front fiber optic sight was missing, but I quickly fixed that. The bore needed cleaning but it is a 2009 production pistol that's been unfired since bought, so it's still nice and shiny. Won't be able to get down to the coast this weekend, so it may be a week or so before this one ends up in the Gulf of Mexico... Cheers! M2

Good idea to oil it down pretty thoroughly beforehand, as any moisture in that sealed bag is gonna wreak havoc on the metal...

Not sure if that's means it's automatically a part of the recall, but things are a bit hectic at Springfield at the moment because of this so I would contact them or wait until the websites are working before making any plans to send it back. I will be disappointed if I have to send mine back but I will as I know Springfield will take care of the problem. But first I need to dig out my scuba gear so I can go retrieve it from the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico! Cheers! M2

Tell me about it! Did you confirm yours was affected by one of those two websites, or simply based on the serial number?
-
Aw, hell... Just to note the XDSpistol.com and Springfieldrecall.com websites don't seem to be working correctly. Call Springfield with your serial number to confirm whether your pistol is affected by this or not...

Wow, one whole MSM during his career, which was probably his retirement decoration; and they honorarily promote him to full bird?

The Gander Mountain in San Antonio opened its doors this morning, I stopped by this afternoon and was impressed by the wide selection of guns for sale but less so on their prices. They weren't bad but Academy is better. However, they did have a good amount of ammo on the shelves at decent prices, I picked up five boxes of Target 325-count target ammo for under a hundred bucks. I know I could probably find it cheaper online but just to have five boxes of the stuff in my hand was enough to convince me to snag it. Of course I immediately drove down to Corpus Christi and tossed it all into the Gulf of Mexico! Cheers! M2

One, that's a scooter; not a moped. Depending on the model, they can have motors up to 500cc (although that one doesn't look like it's bigger than 125cc). Still, they can reach 60+ MPH. Secondly, who knows why the rider is being chased. He may have just committed armed robbery. It must have been something serious to warrant that much attention. I happened upon a police motorcycle accident Friday night on my way home from--of all things--training local police academy cadets. Once we called 911 and told them that it was an officer down, we had 10 squad cars, four fire trucks and EMT plus a police helicopter on us in less than five minutes. Some situations will draw in all officers within range. Lastly, this would be better placed in the 'WTF' thread; so I'm moving it there... Cheers! M2

No, that would be Belgium!

Also take a ride on The Tube (STS), just so you can say you did...

If you're only going to be there for a few days, I'd recommend staying in London. There is a lot to keep you busy during such a short time. Your hotel should give you some suggestions, preferably in walking distance or a short cab ride as you will be partaking in the local brews! Have fun, London is one of my favorite cities in the world. If you can't have fun there, it's not the city's fault! Cheers! M2

Try reading what I wrote. There are certain areas where it infringes on the rights of others, therefore it is not allowed. But I like how you blow it up to apply everywhere, just like the media... How are they not violating it? It is clear they were causing a disruption, which is against the law. If they moved somewhere else where they weren't impeding on pedestrian/vehiclular traffic, then it wouldn't have been a problem. And I wonder if the First Amendment rights of the Oklahoma rodeo clown who wore the Obama mask are being so adamantly defended? No, there are calls for criminal investigations in that case. Way to go, liberals!

They're just enforcing the laws your elected officials put in place. If you disagree, then use the democratic system to change them. Plus, if you really think this makes the US a "police state," you really are playing up on the rhetoric, aren't you? Have you actualy ever been in a true "police state?" I doubt it if you're making this comparison, that is, unless you are only doing so for the "dramatic effect" of calling it that...

The pathway they were on, plus the traffic on the street. They were asked to move, refused, then when told to they failed to obey the lawful direction of a law enforcement officer. At that point the officer has the right to detain the individual, even using the tactics used. The bottom line is play stupid games, win stupid prizes. They were told to leave and didn't, therefore got what they deserved. Just because you disagree with the law doesn't give anyone the right to ignore it. By the way, a similar protest here included two individuals legally carrying long arms. The local police also showed up and told them to vacate the overpass for the same reason. The individuals did and went on their merry way...

If they were causing any disruption, it does apply.
