Bringing this beauty home on Saturday, going boating in the Gulf of Mexico on Sunday...
  2. Everybody was OK with BDUs from the early 1980s until the mid-2000s, why in the fuck can't the military figure out one standard utility/combat/field uniform for everyone now? Seriously, the ABUs have been a huge joke since their introduction, and the Navy's are even more ridiculous. They don't even wear them in real combat zones, much like the Air Force they use Multicams. The Army at least didn't develop theirs by committee, but the ACU still sucks balls. And seriously, the only real reason the Marines developed MARPAT was to be different. They always have to be different. Adopt the Multicams, bring back subdued patches so folks can have some sense of unit pride, and put an end to all this bullshit!
  3. Update. And, in a related matter...
  4. He can thank my old boss, Gen James L. Jones, for that.

The IP address showing for you isn't the same as the ones that were having problems. I searched on the one listed for you and don't see it in the ban list. I checked the one on your profile (it's different) but it too isn't list on the ban list. Check your UP address (get it from https://whatismyipaddress.com/) the PM it to me and/or Toro, and we'll see if it matches what you're showing up as here and if it's on the ban list. Cheers! M2

RUMINT is we are getting a Gander Mountain here in the Alamo City. From what folks have told me, they have some awesome sales but their day-to-day prices and selection are nothing to get excited about. If that is the case, it may be worth the trip; but I would suggest looking at their weekly sales flyer before going. An hour drive isn't really that far anyway (at least by Texas standards)... Cheers! M2

Agreed, my friend, I think I paid around $225 for 1260 rounds of M67 (Yugo 7.62x39) at a gun show on the same day as the 2011 Tucson shooting, and I thought that was expensive. Most I've bad during these "Dark Ages" was $350/1000. Not too bad, and I've stocked up on the stuff (although it's all destined to end up on the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico...) Hopefully we'll see some normalcy one of these days... Cheers! M2

Why are you linking back to this thread?!? Just bustin' on ya! Here's the real link... https://sgammo.com/product/golden-tiger/1000-rds-762x39-fmj-bt-golden-tiger-124-grain-ammo-limit-5-cases-day Why does it say "100000 or more?!?" Anyhow, I am sufficiently hoarded up on 7.62x39, must resist the urge to buy even more just because the prices are dropping! That is an awesome price, and SGAmmo are great to deal with! Cheers! M2

Doubtful, if anything it only demonstrates the uselessness of the gun control measures (similar to the ones currently in California) proposed by she-whose-name-will-not-be-spoken... A legitimate argument could be made that armed, law-abiding citizens could have defended themselves from this criminal and possibly even stopped his killing spree from spreading as far as it did. Gun control laws don't get rid of illegal guns nor do they disarm criminals.
  12. No, there were issues with some posts in it so it was taken offline until such time as it can be cleaned up.
  13. I am sure there are exceptions, but throughout my career the Air Force only paid for the movement of one vehicle. When we PCS'd to Belgium, I paid to ship our second vehicle as it made more sense than to sell it and buy another car. That said, I never had any major problem shipping vehicles. Depending on where you are now, you might consider leaving the second vehicle behind and picking it up on your way to the West Coast. Obviously that's not the best option if you're in the Northeast, but since I doubt you're gonna convince the USAF to pay to move your second car, if it's further west than that may be your best plan...
  14. I'm calling BS on this one... Navy SEAL 'Warrior Princess' Comes Out
  15. I did that to several overseas assignments and back with a large (1100cc) sport-touring bike. Most movers packed the bike up in its own container, and I only experienced nominal damage to the bike. Just be sure to let them know beforehand so they'll have a crate and enough padding for it...

Thanks, brother! It was really bad here, I was doing a police volunteer patrol out of the North substation off of Jones-Maltsberger and my usual 30-minute drive took over two hours and routed me through Bulverde and north of Fair Oaks Ranch! We had bad roadway flooding over off of 281 south of the airport, the Olmos basin area (not surprisingly); but I made it home safe (obviously) as did everyone else (thankfully!). I've got a pistol-gripped Mossberg Persuader loaded with 3" 00-buckshot Magnum shells in it, as if I have to use it in a HD situation I want it able to shoot through walls, furniture, etc. It's a motherfucker to shoot but it definitely gets the job done. There is no "two to the chest, one to the head" tactics involved, just CoM aiming (mine has a laser on it) and let that mother rip! Anyone who takes that blast to the chest ain't getting up! I take it to the range every now and then just to remind myself what a bitch it is to shoot, but the thing is muy muy bueno in doing what I need it to do!

Anyone looking for the barracks lawyer discussions that have been cluttering up this my favorite thread, they've been moved to the 'Liberty, Rights, and The Constitution' thread as HeloDude suggested. That endless debate can continue there, this thread is focused on more interesting topics such as actual firearms, ammo and accessories...
  22. Thanks, I'll check tomorrow. They post a link to the archives.
  23. It's been a while, but I could've sworn that one of the daily CSAF Ops Updates included mishap rates. Anyone know if there is a specific day of the week that info is briefed?
  24. I wonder when the First Earth Squadron will stand up?
