  1. About time someone with a set of testicles (and enough rank to make a difference) showed up to that fight...
  2. Probably has something to do with working on/testing an A, a B, and a C model all at once. Shotgun approach does not always work...
  3. Wish I wasn't at work so I could see the d-bag's picture. Like Fury220, I have a hunch of who it was... edit: not who I was thinking. But I do remember that guy...
  4. Target, Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot, etc. sell self-adhesive Velcro strips, you know...
  5. There are more than a few USAF personnel, here on McGuire, who cannot tell a KC-10 from a C-17. I shit you not. I have little-to-no confidence that the right people can grasp the concept of "reflective clothing = reflective belt".
  6. Yet again, words fail to convey my thoughts on this. I don't know how you'd go about doing it (so I'm not really helping here), but you Officers REALLY need to take the fucking power back.
  7. Joined.
  8. Words fail to describe my disbelief at the turn this thread has taken. We're our own worst enemy. UNFUCKINGBELIEVABLE.
  9. Not bad.
  10. Good possibility. When I went to A&P school, the "grants" I got from PA for being a post-9/11 veteran were considered taxable income. It didn't affect me too badly (my income was shit that year anyway...), but I still had to pay tax on it.
  11. CMP is out of HXP?? SHIT! I waited too long to buy more.... Yes, you can fire commercial 30.06 through a Garand. BUT... you MUST use an adjustable gas plug to do so safely. I've heard of (but never seen) the Garand-specific Federal load. Biggest thing I heard is that it's pretty $pendy...
  12. So, what have we learned here? - Walking and talking on a cellphone, in uniform = OK, IAW 36-290biteme. - Sitting quietly with iPod earbuds in, in uniform = not OK, IAW... uhhh... anyone got a reference? *edit: iPod wear while in duty uniform is not OK IAW the posted AUAB sup. But for fuck's sakes... a little perspective??? Noted. The lack of perspective shown by the "leadership" is appalling. Every time I read this thread, it makes me even more impressed that in spite of the best efforts of the "leadership", the job gets done downrange.
  13. Best three sentences of this entire thread.
  14. Would be interesting to see the reference for that, if you can find it.
  15. That would be nice... [/sarcasm] On a slightly more serious note: I've never heard of this; did anyone you heard this from give a reasoning behind it? I've got around 160hrs on NVGs, and I'm pretty sure I have no lasting effects from it. Unless the nature of the disability interfered with my ability to do the job, personally I'd STFU about it. No need to eliminate yourself from the hiring pool if you don't have to. edit - multiquote didn't work right...
  16. Way to play through the pain.
  17. They really do start that fucking disco belt shit early...
  18. The battle for LTMPA in our WG was apparently epic this year, even though we are actively engaged in OEF/OIF/ONE support. Leadership literally found out the afternoon of 30Sep whether all the requested FY10 LTMPA orders would be approved/funded... and we still lost 3 LTMPA pilot slots for FY10 (also lost 1 FE slot, but the Booms were all approved [cha-ching!]).
  19. Hungary "owns" one of the NATO Barneys.
  20. Good call.
  21. I took 2 1/2 years off between the Marines and the AFRES. Big things I remember: 1. There's FAR more paperwork to be done if you have a break in service, because you're basically re-joining the military. I even had to go to the MEPS. 2. Your pay date and date of rank will slide to the right for however long your break is. My pay date was originally early '93; it's now mid '95 because of my "vacation".
  22. Every now and then I forget those details...
  23. Would be nice if the AFIs applied to... you know, THE WHOLE AIR FORCE... and not just bases where CCs decided they didn't need to waste their time on local sups. It's a utopia...
  24. Here at WRI no mix-n-match is permitted, by ABW/CC policy. Couldn't tell ya what the latest 36-chowmyhog says, and I don't care enough to look it up. At least we're not required to wear that shit in the gym anymore...
