    Been lurking on this thread for a few days, getting a few good laughs, eating popcorn, etc. Finally clicked on the link over to MM's FB page...What a nut job. Spent about five minutes over there and I think I need some counseling now.

    I was kind of making reference to some past practices of some other countries in that area who came out "loud and proud" that they wouldn't support us....and I'll just leave it there. That entire part of the planet is complicated pot of $h!+ soup. Edit: changed a word to make it sound more better

    Well this ain't no shit either. Seriously, I was only on the Herk for 8 years/2100 hours but it was the very best 8 years of my life. Lots of fond memories with some of the very best people in the world doing the absolute coolest F'ing enlisted job in the entire military. Thanks for all the good times.

    And knowing Big Blue, each year they would be given a hearing test and sent to Keesler (or wherever) to re-establish their baseline....

    Seems I have heard stories from Nam where planes going in to certain locations would take off and fly gear down up to cruise altitude because of stowaways running out and climbing up in the wheel well. The reasoning was that if they crawled up in there they would freeze/pass out and fall out. Wasn't as messy as cleaning up a wheel well from a squished up skinny. Could have been just a story someone made up but sounds logical.

    Not living the life but, if there is an active duty base nearby with a FamCamp and you can get a deal on a camper, that may be an option. I lived in the FC for about a year (post divorce) and it was awesome (seriously). Wrote one check a month for rent/utilities/lawn care, etc. Had cool neighbors stop by often ... "hey dude, got the grill going and some cold beer, come on over"

    Been to Prague and agree. Awesome place. I'm not single but it would be an awesome place to be single. Been to Trondheim, Norway and it is also a great place to be single. Asked this local guy that some of us worked with over there what was the best way to meet the local chicks and he said "Just say I'm American". He was right.
