  1. Funny.
  2. He's probably really an okay dude, just misunderstood.
  3. Okay okay, maybe I jumped off the deep end fellas. I'm a bit sleep deprived and on edge right now. I wish I could blame it on being drunk. I'm just pissed at all of the calls to let this guy off with "time served" and "he has suffered enough" when we lost some true heroes trying to rescue this POS when he created the situation. Didn't mean to ruffle everyone's feathers. I just had to vent. I actually have faith in our military leaders to handle the situation properly. What I am concerned about is the political leaders stepping in and overriding them. Carry on bros.
  4. I am already tired of the drooling over this dude. If the accusations of desertion are true then he should be court martialed and spend the rest of his days in prison. I don't know first hand the facts but I haven't seen ANYONE coming to his side to say that he got rolled up or just accidentally ventured into enemy territory so I am believing the desertion accusations at this point. I'm also not hearing much mentioned of the heroes who DIED trying to find this dude. Am I glad he is home? Absolutely not. He made a conscious decision to walk into the arms of the enemy, heroes died trying to rescue him, and now five bad guys are free to plot against our real military men and women. Now he is at Landstuhl claiming to not understand English. Bullshit. Strap him to a board and pour water on his face and see how fast he learns English. I realize there are bigger issues that I don't, and probably never will, understand but IMHO this is a case where we should have left him. He gave up his right to rescue the moment the he made the conscious decision to abandon his post and walk into the arms of the enemy. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. The question was asked earlier in this thread about putting a price on our people. What is an aircrew worth? A crewchief? A foot soldier? A general? I can't answer that. What I can answer is "What is a deserter/traitor/enemy sympathizer worth?" ......Not one single Fvck. Six families are now without a husband/ son/ father/ uncle because of this POS. As far as sending a message to the enemy about what our people are worth, let them know that traitors are worth nothing to us. Let them cut off his head. Just make a video and send it to us. Use that video as a pre-deployment training tape...."You turn your back on your country and this is what happens" Eng out
  5. Those poor bastards. I bet their seats aren't lay flat. The sacrifices they make for the mission....
  6. Pay is the same. There are those who will say Guard is better, others will say the Reserve is better (Ford vs Chevy). I've seen good and bad units in both the Guard and Reserve. There are pros and cons to both but those are mostly insignificant. Find a unit that fits your needs (probably the one closest to home). Personally, I wouldn't drive past one to get to another JUST because of its upper command structure. I would visit each and get a feel for them and go from there. Where in GA are you located? I did my 130 time at the Reserve unit at Maxwell. Spent some time around Dobbins. Heard good things about Savannah.
  7. But then again, there's always that one D!ck (ahem, the one whose name shall not be mentioned) who knows protocol better than anything else and searches for some reason to jump someone's ass.
  8. We flew the Sgt Major of the Army out of some shit hole in Iraq once. As best as I can remember it was just him and two or three other dudes. Not even sure if all the other dudes were with him.
  9. Won't be able to squeeze that in amongst all the airmen bitching because the BX doesn't stock their favorite flavor of Rock Star or Monster or that the chow hall doesn't have enough of a selection of different sprinkles for the ice cream. I can't figure out how he needs an entourage. He needs one chick who can take notes.
  10. Happy Easter everyone
  11. ETA: "He will also bring an entourage that is significantly larger than any two star." Further proof that we aren't as broke as we think we are.
  12. Ho Lee Fuk Me To Tears
  13. "This year’s 85-show, 76-location tour" Proof that we really aren't as broke as we think we are. Fuk me. What a waste of money.
  14. Trust me. ETA: Mostly disgusting fat bodies who kept getting hurt in the woods.
  15. My unit had a rash of Loads who went through all of the Load training then couldn't make it past SERE so they started sending them all to SERE first. I guess it all depends on the unit. I've seen it happen both ways and it mainly depended on the availability of the school and the member's availability/job situation, etc.
  16. Ho Lee Fuk. Did they put check marks by their name for multiple infractions?
  17. At 19 years old just arriving at my first base, my balls weren't that big yet. It was one of the first questions I asked once I checked in and was told that it didn't matter what state I was registered in that I still had to have the VA inspection if I was assigned there. I complied but the next time I went home I went to my dad's guard unit and got a base sticker from them. I figured the system out and was just going to tell the next prick that I was just TDY. In my remaining four + years of squid hell, no one else ever said anything.
  18. My first assignment in 1989 was NAS Oceana. Virginia had a state inspection. I rolled up to the gate having been in the state for a total of about 2.5 hours since crossing the state line and the gate guard said "Where's your state inspection sticker?" To which I replied "I'm from Alabama and we don't have a state inspection." He said that I had to have a Virginia state inspection sticker to get on base. I informed him that I had been in the state for all of 2.5 hours and proceeded to point out all of my $hit packed in the bed and front seat of my truck. He told me that he would "let it slide this time" but that he would remember my vehicle and wouldn't be so nice the next time. True fvcking story. BTW, I know VA is a commonwealth, not a state, Just pre-empting the Nerds/Navigators correcting me.
  19. My Dad (Air Guard Technician Crew Chief for about 30 years) was at the Maxwell BX about 15 years ago when this LTC came up to him and said something to him about his hair. He said something like "you are about as close as I would let someone go without saying something about needing a haircut.' My Dad said (and he was serious) "Well I guess it's a good thing I got it cut yesterday"
  20. Well played, sir. Well played.
  21. Awesome DSL's she had. 2
