  1. Don't forget that 99.69% of those providing 'continuity' have (ret) somewhere in their records. So for those, it's no different than the uniforms making decisions you don't like. Not to mention that all those civilians answer to a uniform somewhere up their food chain. So who ultimately is responsible?
  2. 2 on LFA being legit. I don't FB so no help there.
  3. I think a better example would be a USAF O-6 would be an excellent manager of a Radio Shack...
  4. https://www.philly.com/philly/news/vote-fraud-election-seniors-pennsylvania-20171103.html https://nsjonline.com/article/2016/10/voter-fraud-complaints-issued-in-hoke-county/ https://www.thenewamerican.com/usnews/politics/item/16491-two-sentenced-in-massachusetts-vote-fraud-case Indeed, noted. And these were, literally, just the first three google results found out of multiple pages of such.
  5. Comey/McCabe/Strzyck (sp?), et al tarnished the reputation of the FBI so it's no wonder folks, including me, are skeptical about their actions. DOJ ditto even under a Trump Administration who are, indeed, the ones who made this deal. One has to wonder why this guy, after having access to 40+ Democrat congresscritters' IT systems/accounts, possessed USG laptops in his home, etc, etc, etc, was granted such a sweetheart deal. Flynn gets lying to the FBI and this guy gets a loan application fraud deal? Hmmm....
  6. Some recent funnies (to me anyway): For the recent elected avowed Socialist congresswomen from da Bronx = She Guevera For Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg = shovel ready Voter fraud? https://www.caller.com/story/news/local/2018/06/26/judge-tosses-kleberg-county-justice-peace-votes-orders-new-election/730354002/ 2016 election interference? https://www.yahoo.com/news/stand-obama-team-blew-response-russian-meddling-100024634.html If she who lost bigly despite being a lock, had won, not a peep of Russkie interference would've been uttered as it would've tainted her crowning (no pun intended). Notice not much is/has been made of the IT scandal within many of the Democrat congressional delegations. Guy (Pakistani national) accessed terrabytes of Congressional info, was picked up by the FBI with large dollars in his pocket at Dulles, his wife did manage to get out, his employer Debbie Wasserman-Shultz was frantic to keep her laptop and this issue out of the hands of law enforcement, etc, etc, etc. Guy pled guilty yesterday to one count of loan application falsification. Hmmm....
  7. I believe a wise man (and political party) made much ado about the phrase, "You didn't build that." That and a current series of beer ad seem to make a lot of noise about "it's not where you came from but what you're made of." Never mind that large helping of "illegal" in the composition stew...
  8. The US is a nation of immigrants. There isn't a qualifier of "illegal." If you come here without our permission, you aren't an immigrant. You are illegal present in this country. We should get to decide who we want to let in; you don't cross the velvet rope just because you want to. To grant any sort of preference to someone sneaking in absolutely nullifies our status as a nation of laws. It also give a huge middle finger to all those who have gone through the lengthy process of immigrating here legally. A system, however cumbersome (it is government, after all), that is designed to ensure some basic assimilation characteristics - grasp of English, knowledge of US history, etc. One designed to give at least a modicum of a level playing field so that the new legal citizen can try to take advantage of the American Dream. Those who came here legally worked to make it happen. They get it; work and you help make your own luck. Those coming in illegally have decided they are more important and are aided and abetted by those who enable them. Starting your stay in the US illegally should not be rewarded. On a personal level, I don't blame 'em. I'd want a better life as well. But if me and however many millions of my friends sneak in, we begin to make large areas of this country just like that from which we fled.
  9. Except A) only one campaign manager is being confined and B) an NSC staffer was providing senior defense personnel information to a campaign manager. If/when a current Administration person does similar shenanigans (and they will), will you be as tolerant and accepting? I'm not a liberal (current meaning = progressive). I don't support most liberal causes. One rule of law for all is supposed to be a classic liberal cause which is one I support Misusing the federal government for partisan gain is, or should be, non-partisan. I assure you, if it's not considered so and people aren't punished for shady actions, it will get worse with both sides misusing the powers. All fun and political games until it's used against you.
  10. And you forgot to mention the Senate's advise and consent role in this process. Which is not my point. Regardless of political leanings, one's eyebrow should at least raise when finding evidence of a NSC staffer contacting the campaign manager of a candidate, never mind about sensitive senior personnel matters.
  11. In reading Real Clear Defense today, there was an article about some more fall out from the Fat Leonard scandal. From that, there was a link to this article from April of this year. https://www.stripes.com/news/pacific/report-fat-leonard-corruption-probe-helped-derail-pentagon-s-pick-to-lead-joint-chiefs-1.519972 It, too, is mostly about the Fat Leonard scandal, but this little throwaway line caught my attention: Then-Defense Secretary Ash Carter had settled on a short list of Locklear and three other finalists, according to a March 30, 2015, email from a White House official that was made public by WikiLeaks. The email was sent by Christopher Kirchhoff, a National Security Council official, to John Podesta, the chairman of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.
  12. Closest one I could find to illustrate the point... https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=11b+it+guy&&view=detail&mid=05518DA3DF0C927C965F05518DA3DF0C927C965F&&FORM=VRDGAR
  13. Just don't wear the red flight suit...
  14. My wife is looking long-term:
  15. If Trump did something illegal and is tried/impeached/convicted, out he goes. Hillary did, by her own admission, performed actions regarding classified that would send you or I to Leavenworth. With or without intent, the statute regarding is pretty clear. Yet she's still slowly cavorting about. One rule of law or not? Edited to add: Oh, and the feeling of seeing the election go the other way after the entire political industry - politicians, media, and loud liberals just knew it was a lock for Hillary, is one I cherish. Enough people from enough of the country gave a giant collective middle finger to that same industry. Glorious.
  16. My God is not in the White House. But neither is Hillary. Both of those facts are important to me. Nor is there an emperor. Just a strange guy who isn't part of the entrenched on both side political machinery. One who beat 16 other GOP candidates who were various iterations of the same ol' same ol', and defeated Hillary. Who was given a run for her suspiciously gained money by someone who wasn't even a real Democrat. And neither side listened to the massive numbers of people who don't like DC and its circle-jerk shenanigans.
  17. Meant mine as generally good natured. As an observer, the exchange between you and Helo seemed to be going downhill and getting personal on your end. I have no dog in that exchange other than his logic seemed to be irritating you in your replies. Tried to interject some humor in an internet exchange. Nothing personal intended. Still glad it's not Hillary in the White House.
  18. Best aspect of the Donald saluting (manly courteous gesture)/bowing (feminine/subservient) whole picture thing is... President Hillary is not in it. And that has made all the difference.* *Apologies to Robert Frost
  19. Ah, yes. The ol' defensive egg. Never gets old watching it deploy...
  20. Or American exceptionalism. I see no reason to apologize for nuking Japan. Apologize to South Vietnam? Sure, since we didn't help them win. Coincidentally, the nation that exists beat us. So I wouldn't apologize. Apologies, when unnecessary, shows weakness on the world stage. YMMV.
  21. Further, I much prefer this: https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-foreign-policy-were-america-first-2018-6 to this: https://www.politico.com/story/2016/05/obama-asia-trip-hiroshima-apology-223446
  22. We all are or were in the government via the USAF. The thread(s) railing against the stupidity/inefficiency/buffoonery of that part of the government are orders of magnitude longer and larger than those that talk about USAF getting it right. And the USAF is, arguably, staffed with better than the average bears in the overall federal government. We've all see the incredible stupidity/adherence to written in a vacuum policies/pettiness by mindless drones. The VA is government healthcare on a smaller scale than universal but an accurate template. So, please, I'll pass on gubmint running healthcare via any system. Less government is good.
  23. But to their credit the Democrats used the power given them to ram ACA through. Whereas the GOP has and is repeatedly deliberately ignoring the large portion of voters who didn't want ACA or the ever-increasing government intrusion into daily life. Rise of the Tea Party and, ultimately, the election of Trump over 16 variations of the same them weak Republican candidate seems to be something that the establishment does not want to acknowledge, let alone obey. Hence, the GOP couldn't/didn't kill dead the ACA. A pox on them.
