ATTACK! I saw Donk punch an LT in the chest at a Roll Call. He's a bona fide badass!

My brother and I had a discussion about concealed carry the other day. He said he didn't want to carry out in public because he didn't think he was well trained enough to pull and shoot a bad guy if he happened onto the scene that required deadly firepower. I then told him he had a decision to make. And here's the decision: A.) I carry a gun and when required and appropriate, I use the gun to protect myself, my family or innocent civilians. Appropriate means a clear field of fire, knowing the exact target I need to hit, and am comfortable taking the shot. I also realize that if I miss said target and end up killing someone else, I will probably spend many a year behind bars. or B.) Not carry a gun and happen into a situation where myself, my family, or innocent civilians are going to get hurt. People end up dying and I have to live with myself the rest of my life knowing that I maybe could have done something to save people. He chooses to not carry out in public. I choose to carry when I have the chance. But that choice right there determines whether you are the sheep or the sheepdog. Other rules to live by with concealed carry: 1. Bars, schools, and churches are usually off limits, don't push it. 2. Shoot to kill and have the appropriate ammo to achieve those means. (Just speculating, thank god this asshat probably used ball target ammo...had he not, the situation would have been worse) 3. If you see my gun, I am going to shoot. I am not a cop and I will not give you a warning shot. I will not pull my gun out to posture, I will pull it out to shoot. 4. Not every situation requires deadly force. My gun is for deadly force. 5. If I use a gun in a self defense situation, I will fire the gun, retreat, then separate myself from said firearm ASAP. Cops rolling up on a random civilian will probably shoot you if you do otherwise. 6. If I fuck up, I am going to jail. It's as easy as that. You as the individual make that decision. The Government should have no say in it. BTW, you have a better chance of getting struck by lightning than a stray bullet fired from concealed carry holder....just sayin'.

There 1.3 million abortions each year...restricting law abiding gun owners should be the least of our f@cking concerns. Now, back on topic.

Everyone knows that the only people able to lead in the Air Force are prior enlisted officers and SNCOs. Why are we even talking about this?

Perfecto...thanks for the help!

Quick question about changing the % of base pay to contribute. Next year, I want to change my % from 1% currently to 14% so that I can max out my TSP in 2011. When should I go into MyPay and make the change so that the change effects my first 2011 paycheck? Basically, I don't want to do it too early to effect my last 2010 paycheck, but not late enough to miss my first 2011 paycheck. Thanks for the help!

I was thinking the same thing. If you must "Aim High", the jet needs to be boresighted.

I was there for 2 weeks recently and made every effort to walk around with my shirt untucked and no reflective belt. I even walked to the pool in my swim trunks and flip flops then stopped at the BRA afterward to have some beers and no one ever said anything to me. It may have been my "talk to me and I will fucking rip your head off" look I usually sport, or maybe the place is getting better.

Well, at Kandahar...if you get caught without your reflective belt, they give a reflective belt and take your ID. Then, you must bring your boss in to retrieve your ID card and turn in the belt they loaned you. Just gonna say, no one is taking my ID card from me unless I am in cuffs and they take it out of my pocket, or Haji demands it when I land under parachute in his mud hut. Just sayin'...

Are horizontal shoulder holsters allowed in Kandahar?

Have you ever denied a receiver gas?

Why would you be hesitant? MFA's are not cosmic.

Come on Rainman, I'm a CAS pilot...I never believe there is a single solution to any problem. Therefore, any suggestions/wisdom you'd like to pass on, please do!

I'm gonna start traveling here in a few weeks. What size bag will fit into a travel pod? Any suggested bags that are good for taking all your shit downrange?

2 on that. I smell a nasty, rotten vagina in the house. Makes me wanna puke. Instead of complaining, get the family involved. Drop the kids off somewhere, let the wife out of the kitchen and have her meet you at the bar. And a few other wives or girlfriends. We are never ones to kick bitches out of the bar (only strippers and midgets are allowed to stay during Roll Call). Hell, your wife is probably already sleeping with half the squadron anyway (fighter pilot humor). Shit, bring your mom too. I kind of like older women as it is. Once your mom/wife have had time to socialize with better men than yourself, have them give said better men rides home to change then out to the clubs. Is all that fighter pilot tradition? No, I think it's just a bunch of friends having a good time together. Of course, if you're flying on Friday, why not make it Saturday evening? BVR SOS and your Masters are the ONLY reasons you're allowed to miss. But I can see that not taking hold in AFSOC...after all, it is full of "special" heavy pilots...

Vipers and Eagles strafing? Comical. That's why they have to call out their base altitude before rolling in...and that rule IS written in blood. I once saw a video of a Strike Eagle strafing a truck. The truck stopped for a few seconds after getting hit and then drove off. The only way that would happen with the GAU-8 is if all 300 rounds in the burst missed...then we'd just combat offset the second time on the same pass. God, I love the gun! No offense to the Strike Eagle bubbas meant...but Vipers just plain suck at CAS.

RB must be the PC douchebag that probably gave us the belts in the first place...oh, the irony here is very deep!

So the ADSC of 4 years only applies if you wat to transfer the benefits to your dependents?

Kandahar Airmen Use AFSO 21 at War "After a brief Lean training session, the team proceeded to inventory all of the items in the shelter essential to the A-10 phase inspection operation and segregate the things they did not need or use. Once finished, the team straightened the area and gave it a good cleaning by sweeping the floors and turning in unneeded items to supply." Okay, so they clean up after themselves and call it AFSO 21? Way to go dudes! I'm going to clean up my work area tomorrow and add it to my OPR fodder!

Ohhh, he's a WSO...totally makes sense now! Just playin'... Gotta be more to the story!

In terms of my time at the Auger back in 04, safe = verified birth control.

I think it's something called perspective...most of the shoe-tools lack it. While the CMSGT may be correct, clearly if he has the time to track down an O-5 to correct an O-4...his ass should be force shaped. I would track him down and ask him my he doesn't have the integrity to correct you on the spot if he thought it so important.

I would have put in a good word for her if her roommate gave me a BJ (or hell, even showing her tits maybe). Too bad my opinion about anything didn't matter at all during my time at the 50th. The T-1 chicks were almost always hotter anyhow.* *I never havebeen , am not, and never will be involved in an inappropriate instructor-student relationship. It goes against my core values and most the chicks were 0's anyway.

The only way to rule the innocent man is to make him a criminal.
